COGNITIVE FUNCTION AS ONE OF THE PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS OF LANGUAGE

Information About Author:

The article deals with the notion of a function of language, gives a brief review of the existing approaches to the number and composition of the principal functions of language. In view of the important role of the study of language in cognitive researches and the interpretation of language in cognitive science, cognitive function is considered one of the principal functions of language. The article presents its definition and essence and reveals its interrelation with the other basic functions of language.
