1 | The research project deals with the analysis and description of the axiology of the academic medical discourse in the English language. In relation to our research the concept ‘academic medical discourse’ consists in the following: this type of discourse is scientific communication the aim of which is the concept of detailed transfer of information steps (on the corresponding subject: diagnostics, treatment and recommendation) which needs to be reported, analyzed and discussed for acceptance of the main results. Some examples from the texts of academic medical discourse containing the phraseological units representing opposition ‘good –evil’ have been shown. In this paper research is conducted on the material of contexts of the journal of the American medical association and medical journal of New England. As a result, the concept ‘academic medical discourse’ is considered as scientific communication the aim of which is the concept of detailed transfer of information steps on estimated strategy of diagnostics, treatments and recommendations (see: strategy of all dangers, services of a hospice, correlation of the bill, “grapevine”), exposed to discussion for acceptance of the main results. The analysis of the examples from the texts of academic medical discourse contains phraseological units representing opposition ‘good –evil’. It is claimed that the evaluation presented in the opposition form “good – evil” can be correlated to the use of phraseological units being one of the ways of expression of a positive/negative evaluation in the contexts of academic medical discourse of different linguocultural communities. 2 | The research project deals with the analysis and description of the features of the author’s text of the academic medical discourse in English language. In relation to our research “components” of the above text are those language units which on the semantics and the form “… carry out in texts both esthetic, and stylistic functions” and represent “the description of the numerous stating life facts – death, health – illness, incurability reasons – curability”. The mentioned criteria in components of texts of the academic medical discourse are described through an explication of components of the evaluation which basis is made by the author’s reasonings giving “an idea of the text as about uniform semantic space” and leading to the conclusions predicted at the beginning of the text. In this paper research is conducted on the material of contexts of the American medical association journal and New England medical journal. Therefore, the analysis of the examples of the author’s texts of the academic medical discourse representing different linguocultural spaces is given. As a result phraseological units according to their semantics and form are considered as a means of updating the author’s position in the scientific medical discourse. 3 | The article deals with the question of studying the structural properties of the academic medical discourse text of such type as “Original Research”, based on the material of the New England medical journal. It provides the characteristic of text-Background, text-Methods, text-Discussion, text-Results and text-Conclusions. The article presents the examples of the implementation of the information content of the above texts of the article in Russian in comparison with the submission of information in English. It describes the specifics of the linguistic manifestations of English sentences presenting the text of a medical journal article under study. It demonstrates the result of studying of what the text of the article of academic medical discourse is. The most significant factor of the study is that the analyzed article text is considered as a scientific conversation with colleagues, whose purpose is to discuss participation in the conduct of statistical analysis and public presentation of the results of research activities and intended for a narrow circle of specialists using natural science concepts and methods, information, bibliographic resources and medical and biological terminology in solving professional problems can be defined by verbal constructions, consistent and inconsistent definitions, prepositional and non-prepositional combinations of nouns with adjectives, nests of words, letter abbreviations (acronyms) and correlates with medical terminology by German and Latin symbols in written form.
