6252 | The article describes how to conduct psychological and pedagogical training. The methodology was developed during the study of readiness for military training. It was held within the framework of the activities of professional psychological selection. We relied on the techniques used in the identification of existing professionally important qualities of the applicant at the time of enrollment in the military educational institution of higher professional education. The proposed development is universal because it can be used both in group and individual work. The training can easily be adapted to the survey of the applicants of the higher educational institutions of other professional directions, mainly for the professions connected with special working conditions, where you need not only the ability to come to a decision promptly, but also the ability to choose from a variety of options the most appropriate one. 6255 | Introduction. The article deals with the problem of optimizing the teaching of Russian as a foreign language using computer technologies at the stage of pre-University training of Chinese students. Students from China experience a number of difficulties related to cultural, national characteristics, as well as large differences in the principles of their native and Russian languages. The aim of the work is to analyze the practices of using computer technologies at the initial stage of studying RCT by Chinese students; to postulate the need to use existing electronic educational complexes, as well as to create new ones. Material and methods. The methodology included information retrieval, continuous sampling analysis, and systematization. Results and discussion. The theoretical and practical significance of the study lies in the systematization of the described experience of using electronic resources and conclusions. In Russia, several electronic and methodological complexes have been created in recent years, which simplify the process of mastering Russian as a foreign language. Using them, the student can repeatedly reproduce the training material, return to it after some time. The effective experience of using e-courses at the stage of pre-University training is described. They are used in Moscow, Krasnodar, Voronezh and other cities. Most of the computer systems concern phonetics as a section of the Russian language. This is due to the complexity of this section for international students. The part is created on topics that are studied much later than the initial stage, for example, «Chemistry», «Economics», «Literature». We have noted the lack of narrowly thematic educational electronic materials for students of the initial stage. Also, for effective learning and comfort in a foreign language environment, students can be provided with interactive dictionaries. It is important that the role of the teacher is not leveled in the course of using electronic learning environments. Conclusion. Interactive courses serve as necessary additional elements in the training system of RCTS, but they cannot replace the tutor’s control by a live person. We noted the descriptive nature of scientific works on the functioning of e-courses, which means that there is a need to quantify their effectiveness using sociological, pedagogical and statistical methods, and to highlight the results in the General pedagogical discourse. 6257 | Duality symmetries are used to organise symmetry orbits of supergravity black-hole solutions and to display their relation to extremal (i.e. BPS) solutions at the limits of such orbits. An important technique for this analysis uses a timelike dimensional reduction and exchanges the stationary black-hole problem for a nonlinear sigma-model problem. Families of BPS solutions are characterized by nilpotent orbits under the duality symmetries, based upon a tri-graded or penta-graded decomposition of the corresponding duality group algebra. 6259 | The source base determines the possibility of reconstructing the history of Russian national and statist organizations. This is important in relation to the events of the recent past, happening in Western Siberia. You cannot ignore the fact that not all materials fall at the disposal of archivists and archives corpus equipment takes a long time. With regard to the study of current political history of the region it is advisable to use these types of sources as published in the study period directories, collections of documents and materials of sociological research, data, electoral statistics and financial reports on the results of the election campaigns. This makes it possible to expand the typology of sources, bringing the amount of new materials. Involvement in the scientific revolution of additional evidence, allowing detailed study of various aspects of the activities of Russian national and statist organizations. In heritage materials researchers are revealing the processes taking place in the regional organizations of political parties and influence the choice of strategy and tactics. 6262 | Introduction. The paper explores the articles in the German mass-media describing the events of World War II. Material and methods. The articles published in the German newspapers Süddeutsche Zeitung, Die Welt and the Russian translation of these articles from the site ИноСМИ.ru serve as the material for the analysis. The following methods were used: content-analysis as a kind of content and semantic direction, linguistic and stylistic method in two of its variations – lexical and stylistic and lexical and semantic analysis, linguistic and pragmatic and cognitive and discursive methods. Results and discussion. Confabulated character of the articles which aim to revise the history is represented through the concepts DECEPTION and PROPAGANDA. The damaging character of the revisionist materials is intensified through the usage of the negative tactic of accusation which in the intercultural political area may not be explicitly depicted on the lexical level but be rendered from the stylistics and rhetoric of this or that genre. The destructive character of the publications is determined by the conceptual opposition of the political discourse ‘friendfoe’ and is manifested in the discussion of the events not only belonging to the past but inherent to the modern geopolitical situation. In the materials of this kind all features of the fake (deepfake) message are present which let us interpret them as functioning in the framework of the post-truth phenomenon. Conclusion. One of the most powerful weapons of the information and psychological warfare are the attempts to “deconfabulate” the history. The repertoire of information and psychological warfare’s means embraces the past events and the modern geopolitical situation. The media-discourse in general and mass-media particularly is a great instrument of forming a public opinion and transmitting these or those axiological priorities. In the context of modern information confrontation it is important to prevent the situation when the journalism of facts is substituted by the journalism of opinions. In this respect the analysis of the revisionist publications plays a great role in terms of studying the linguistic and extra-linguistic mechanisms of discrediting the past. 6263 | Introduction. The article is devoted to the consideration of ways of implementing language variability, represented at the level of phraseological subsystems of the Russian and Chinese languages. The object of the scientific description is the sphere of linguistic semantics, which receives conceptual understanding in connection with its study in the aspect of intercultural and interlanguage communication. The presence of a semantic invariant in the content of Russian and Chinese phraseological units is determined by the existence of general tendencies of sense formation and the action of universal laws of development of any national language. Semantic variants arise due to the peculiarity of national linguistic cultures as a result of the combined action of a number of extralinguistic and linguistic factors. Aim and objectives. The aim of the study is to study the functional manifestations of the theory of variation at the phraseological level of the Russian and Chinese languages in the aspect of comparative linguocultural interpretation. Material and methods. 54 phraseological units operating in modern Russian and Chinese languages, selected because of a continuous selection from lexicographic sources, were used as units of analysis. The main one is the comparative linguoculturological research method. Results and discussion. The starting point of the study was the thesis that phraseological units have not only linguistic, speech, but also linguocultural and linguocognitive status. In the meaning of most Russian phraseological units there is a pronounced national-cultural component of meaning. Taking this factor into account, general (invariant) and private (variative, characteristic for a particular linguistic culture) semantic components in the semantics of phraseological units that make up correlation semantic pairs (equivalent, non-equivalent, incompletely equivalent) are identified. In equivalent paired phraseological units, the core of semantics is the semantic invariant, nonequivalent ones are dominated by variable semantic attributes, incompletely equivalent are transitional types. Conclusion. Comparative linguistic and cultural studies make a significant contribution to the study of various linguistic concepts, including the theory of language variability, semantic interpretation, translation, on the basis of which it is concluded that they are extremely relevant for the modern scientific paradigm. 6264 | The article deals with the aesthetic views of A. V. Makedonov – a famous literary critic and historian of the Soviet literature and post-Soviet periods. He was a supporter of the scientific concept of perceiving art as a constantly evolving knowledge of objective reality in the form of a second subjective-objective reality. The basic aesthetic views of Makedonov are connected with German classical aesthetics, particularly the philosophy of G.W.F. Gegel, the works of V. G. Belinsky and N. G. Chernyshevsky. In his works of the 1960–1980s, he was engaged in a polemic with Russian and foreign supporters of the theory of semiotics, in particular with Yu. M. Lotman. The researcher tried to prove that, despite a number of accurate statements, his opponents failed to determine the specificity of art as they tried to reduce all the originality of artistic creativity to the characteristics of different sign systems and as well as to reject the study of artistic image as a way to acquire knowledge about objective reality. 6265 | Introduction. The article provides the survey of distance technologies implementation experience in response to forced transition to e-learning environment at the university classes of the English language. The objective of the work is to consolidate and summarize the findings of the questionnaire aimed at identifying students and teachers’ attitude towards the educational process transition to electronic format. Material and methods. Research statistics was taken from the questionnaire conducted in the first couple of weeks of online English classes and at the end of 2019–2020 academic year spring term. In order to solve the task the authors applied the following methods: the analysis of methodological literature on technologies introduction into educational process at English language classes, questionnaire given to university students and teachers. Results and discussion. The paper combines and generalizes the replies to the questionnaire about the very first experience of using e-learning environment fully instead of in-class activities for the English language classes at the university. Advantages and drawbacks of a distance education are mentioned as well as the level of educational process participants’ satisfaction with the language teaching quality within a new format. There are also some special aspects of teaching English online shown. It was defined that during these classes students and teachers had faced the major challenge – the lack of a real-life communication with verbal and nonverbal channels of information exchange. One of the undeniable benefits of a distance education when compared to classroom sessions is organizational aspect, especially time saving. Conclusion. Remote format of the English language classes is considered as a high quality alternative to in-class learning in situations when classroom settings are impossible to be organized due to different circumstances (pandemics, weather conditions, etc.). Practical focus of a “Foreign language” as a subject determines the significance of a real-life face-to-face communication during the classes. 6267 | The article considers the specific character of religious metaphors and their role in conceptualization of the soul in art discourse of the XVIII–ХХ centuries. The characteristic feature of the studied metaphorical model is the close synthesis of pagan and Christian concepts, the appeal to fundamental oppositions “good – evil” and “own – alien”, estimation approach to cognizable fragments of reality. By means of a metaphorical projection from the area of “religion” into the area of “man’s inner world” in an art discourse the spiritual qualities of the person, emotional life, personal relations between the man and the woman are represented. The peak of the use of religious metaphors in an art discourse is XVIII–XIX centuries. 6268 | This article is devoted to the analysis of the functioning of the combination of the conjunction да with a specifier вот in a variety of syntactic structures. The relevance of the study is determined by the active interest of modern linguistics to function words and, more generally, to means of communication, functioning in different semantic structures. Да вот forms different constructions depending on the main semantics of the conjunction да. This conjunction actualizes negative and connecting relations in our material. Particle вот also performs different functions, for example, the amplifying, anaphoric and cataphoric functions. Sometimes this particle plays an important role in the semantic distinction and addition. Да вот has a characteristic compatibility with such national words and function words as interrogative pronouns and adverbs, noun беда, particles бы, только, хоть, хотя бы, еще, pronominal adverb как-то, etc. This article presents the specific types of syntactic structures built on the basis of the combination да вот. Such structures include question-answer statements and constructions with a rhetorical question. This article also analyzes the application of да вот in idiomatic structures. 6284 | Introduction. The article is devoted to the consideration of the lexical and world-modeling activity of units of the lexical-semantic group «Parts of the body» - somatisms, which is reflected in the texts of Russian folk proverbs. The peculiarities of the semantics and pragmatics of somatisms, which determine the specifics of their functioning in a folklore text, make it possible to define somatic vocabulary as markers of national identity. Aim and objectives. The aim of the research is to study the somatisms that function in the texts of Russian folk proverbs, in the aspect of their realization of their lexical and world-modeling potential. Material and methods. As the research material, the texts of Russian folk proverbs containing somatism lexemes are used. The principle of selection of empirical material is based on a continuous sample of the most frequently encountered somatic units from texts. The research methodology consists of methods of observation, quantitative analysis, lexical and semantic analysis, with the involvement of elements of discourse and conceptual analysis. Results and discussion. Somatisms, the meaning of which is based on the meanings of anthropomorphism, play a significant role in the formation of the idea of a person in the linguistic and conceptual picture of the world. The conceptual meaning of somatisms is manifested differently in different linguocultures. In the presence of undoubted universal, constant characteristics inherent in all ethnic groups, there is a presence of interpretations due to the specificity of a particular culture. This becomes obvious when comparing the cases of the functioning of somatisms in the texts of Russian and Chinese proverbs: the named linguocultures are extremely different in cultural and linguistic terms. It was revealed that the greatest lexical and world-modeling potential, judging by the texts of proverbs, in the Russian linguistic picture of the world is possessed by the somatisms head, hand, and eyes. Each somatic lexeme has a specific conceptual meaning, an important component of which is the axiological component “value”. So, somatism, the head is interpreted as «the value of the intellect», the hand is the «value of vital activity», the eyes are the «value of personal participation.» In fewer proverbs, there are somatisms hair, legs, mouth, tongue, nose. In this list, interpretations such as legs, symbolizing the «value of mobility,» and hair, a marker of the anti-value of «external» as opposed to the value of «internal», are primarily evident. Conclusion. The study of somatisms in the aspect of considering their lexical and world-modeling activity, manifested in folklore texts (in this case, in proverbs), makes it possible to form an idea of fragments of the linguistic and conceptual picture of the world of an ethnic group. The need to analyse these texts arises from the interest of modern linguistics in the speaking personality and the texts this personality produces. The texts reflect the unique personal and historical experience. In this case study they reflect the experiences of Russian re-emigrants from China to Australia. The purpose of the article is to describe the reminiscence genre and its linguistic implementation in the speech of Russian re-emigrants, who came from China to Australia in the 20th century. Material and methods. The research is based on the study of the recorded interviews with Russian re-emigrants from China to Australia (10 interviews). The method of linguistic description of the «Reminiscences» genre was used as the main method to analyse their speech from the point of view of its thematic and linguistic distinctiveness. Results and discussion. The paper presents the thematic originality of stories about Harbin, determined by the particular lifestyle of Russian eastern emigration. A number of micro-themes have been identified in the framework of the study: The Russian appearance of Harbin, resettlement to Harbin, Russians and Chinese, Japanese occupation of Harbin. Genre features and linguistic specificities have been determined. The analysis of the Russian re-emigrants’ stories about Harbin made it possible to identify some typical and specific features. Among the typical features are: the use of past-tense verbs, the use of spoken and neutral vocabulary and metatext lexical units. The specific features of the stories about Harbin, embodied in the «Reminiscences» genre, have been determined. They include the use of syntactic means and structures characteristic of written speech, the use of bookish, high-flown and obsolete vocabulary, as well as Harbin vocabulary and borrowings from the Chinese language. Conclusion. Recorded reminiscence-stories of Russian re-emigrants about Harbin, demonstrate thematic originality, determined by the particular lifestyle of Russian eastern emigration, genre features and linguistic specifics. 6286 | Introduction. The results of the annual monitoring of the input and final diagnostics of the development of additional professional programs by students are presented. Aim and objectives. The goal is to determine the degree of formation of students’ professional competencies when mastering additional professional programs, as well as to determine the dynamics of changes in the subject position of students regarding their professional competence. Material and methods. The research material was the data obtained from the final diagnosis developed by the Institute of Continuing Professional Education. Identified difficulties in the training of students, as well as interesting dynamics in four sections of the questionnaire are presented: the position of students of the courses regarding their legal competence, psychological and pedagogical competence, professional skills, and the relevance of using the Institute’s information and methodological resources. Results and discussion. An analysis of the data of the conducted input and final diagnostics of the level of training of students in the development of additional professional programs for 2019 revealed the typical and remaining difficulties that students experience. Two categories took part in the survey: “Pedagogical workers” and “Leading workers”. Diagnostic data showed that most students feel the need to develop their professional competence. The need for the development of skills that allow you to build your own professional activities in accordance with the legislation in the field of education remains relevant in the work of both teachers and managers. An important issue is the use by students of psychological and pedagogical knowledge and skills in professional activities. Input diagnostic data show a fairly small percentage of students who use psychological and pedagogical knowledge and skills, as well as the use of a systematic and natural basis. Another problem remains the awareness of an insufficient level of knowledge of information and communication technologies. Despite the sufficient openness of the institute’s information resources and its presence on the official website, a fairly large percentage of students are not sufficiently familiar with project and information-methodological resources, including those presented on portals and sites located on the official website, since this is not in their circle duties, according to listeners. Conclusion. The remaining difficulties identified will allow us to adjust the work of carrying out operational adjustments to the content and forms of work of the teaching staff with students during the development of additional professional programs, as well as to determine approaches to making effective management decisions aimed at ensuring positive dynamics in the results of the development of additional professional programs by students. 6287 | The article presents some results of research conducted by the Institute of social pedagogics RAO (2003) and laboratory of theory and practice of rural school development of Petrozavodsk state University (2014–2015). The modern stage of modernization of Russian education is characterized as socio-cultural and is understood as a correlate of two trends – globalization and regionalization. The author compares the evaluation the effectiveness of the past decade’s reforms, given by the rural teachers, and reveals that the modernization of education in rural areas has not met their expectations according to the basic parameters of reforming. It is concluded that a negative evaluation is caused, in particular, by the fact that rural pedagogical community does not take an active role in the reform. 6288 | The article deals with the aesthetic component of a concept in imaginative literature. Conceptualization of an imaginary text is performed with the help of special esthetic means which reflect both cultural norms and trends of their time and place and an individual author’s approach to rendering of an esthetic ideal. Due to this esthetic component a work of art acquires on the one hand features, characteristic for the idiostyle of this or that writer, and on the other reflects the peculiarities of different artistic trends and styles. Catharsis is looked upon as an emotional flash, spiritual purification of a work of art’s addressee, as a perlocutionary effect of a successful comb ination of form and substance in a work of art, or in other words, of two components of a concept: a semantic and esthetic ones. 6289 | The article features the comparative characteristics of the main heroine in L. Ulitskaya’s novel The Kukotsky Enigma and combines two topical approaches: the functional-semantic approach, connected with the text explications of units in the functional-semantic field “comparativeness”, and the gender-linguistic approach. The second approach actualizes feminine-oriented comparatives, namely: the forms of the images of comparisons (comparatives of equality) and the forms of the signs of difference (comparatives of inequality), the “targets” of which are explications of the external and internal appearance of Elena Kukotsky. The purpose of the article is to identify and analyze the structural and substantive diversity of the comparatives involved in the character’s thematic grid of Elena, identifying the author’s idiostyle features. We use the primary linguistic description (collection of materials, classification and interpretation), as well as contextual and transformational methods. Appeal to the chronotopic, discourse and sensory levels in the comparative characteristics of Elena, we can see her various manifestations in life, the polysemy of the heroine because of different attitude expressed by other heroes and the narrator, her self-expression, the variability of her assessments. An important role in the discourse representation of the heroine “from the inside” is played by Elena’s notebooks, in which feminine-oriented comparatives participate in the expression of her self-criticism, linguistic creativity, fantasy in the use of occasionalisms, unexpected metaphorical images, including expanded ones. The comparative character’s grid of Elena is represented by a wide variety of comparisons of quality (comparisonassimilations and metaphors) and comparatives of inequality (forms of degrees of comparisons of characteristic words and forms of subjective assessment of quality). In front of readers there is a visual, odor, auditory (the sensory level) appearance of this young woman, charming by her fragility; it is difficult to imagine her face; readers themselves draw her portrait. In the comparative characteristics of the heroine, first of all, her inner appearance (moods, joyfulness, but for the most part difficult experiences, value proposition in her picture of the world) is explicated. The participation of the comparatives in the creation of the image of Elena manifests their pronounced text-forming function, with the particular use of the approach “the correlation of trops and realia”. The results of the analysis contribute to the systematization of knowledge about the expressive ways of comparatives in the language of artistic texts; and their description makes a definite contribution to the theory of imagery. 6290 | Introduction. The problem of the development of educational independence of children of primary school age is posed as the basic meta-subject competence, indicated in the educational standard. As the main way of developing educational independence, it is proposed to organize cooperation of different ages between students of the second and fourth grades. Aim. Description of the experience of conducting different-age lessons and presentation of the positive impact of different-age cooperation on the formation of educational independence. Material and methods. Analysis of literature sources in order to identify effective ways of different-age cooperation; development and testing of the stages of this technology; monitoring the activities of children in differentage groups; conducting and analyzing diagnostic work. Results and discussion. The pedagogical tasks that are realized by educational communication of children of different ages are highlighted. It is shown how it is possible to organize educational sessions of different ages on the topic «Phonetics», in which schoolchildren will communicate in a pair «second grader – fourth grader», completing tasks compiled for each other. There are three stages in the organization of such educational work: preparatory, at which interesting tasks are designed and drawn up; the main one, when children interact in a couple of different ages, and the reflexive one, where educational successes and difficulties are discussed together. The cycle of classes ends with a test on a topic with an educational content common to all children. Conclusion. The results of this work are given and the relationship between the subject results and the position in which the student’s academic independence was manifested is shown. It is concluded that the interaction of children of different ages, in which both the older and younger students have the opportunity to show their active (teaching) position, has a positive effect on internal motivation, communicative and regulatory actions, as well as on subject skills. 6291 | At the present stage of development literature of many Russian ethnic groups acquire the pronounced “woman’s face” and the Komi literature is not an exception. Most actively the female author refers to the lyric poetry. Among talented komi poetesses, who presented at the turn of XX–XXI centuries the variety of forms of lyrical interpretation of reality, stands out in the self-presentation Anzhelika Elfimova. Her poetic worldview is based on the so-called “lyrical introversion”, which founds an organic form in character of the heroine, in particular, in specifics of her expressional speech behavior and the “closed” vital space. On the material of national poetry we research the forms of embodiment of introverted consciousness in the poetic text – the consciousness, which doesn’t go beyond the sphere of love experiences, gravitating to the critical attitude to themselves and others, to the statement of her own – different – worldview. 6294 | Introduction. Modern study of terminologies and term systems are carried out in the aspect of cognitive terminology. Research devoted to the study of the term semantics in the context of cognitive terminology is gaining popularity. The aim of the work is to create frame models of the term semantics of the subject area “Construction Technologies”, to identify the main cognitive categories and subcategories represented by these models and characteristic of construction terminology, as well as the means of their expression. Material and methods. The material for the study is the terms of the sphere of construction technologies, selected from the terminological dictionaries on construction, regulatory documents, educational and scientific literature, as well as catalogues of construction products and professional websites for construction engineers. The research methodology is based on the method of linguistic modeling, frame analysis was used to study the term semantics. The techniques of definitional and component analysis are also used. Results and discussion. The frame modeling of the term semantics of the professional field “Construction technologies” was performed on the basis of the word-formation structure of the derived term. As a result of the analysis of frame models, correlated with the word-forming types, the following cognitive categories in the terminology of the sphere of construction technologies are defined: “process”, “attribute”, “ability / characteristic”, “action”, “object”. The article provides a detailed analysis of the semantics of Russian terms that actualize the cognitive categories “process” and “feature”. Frame models of term semantics are proposed; the frame consists of slots, which are components of the meaning of the term and are represented by various morphemes. The categorical slot is of particular importance as it correlates with the part-of-speech belonging of the term. The following subcategories specify the semantics of the identified cognitive categories: “technology of manufacturing / application of building materials”, “stage of the technological process”, “special construction works / results of these works”, “construction defect”, etc. These subcategories are defined by the specifics of the terminology of the field of construction technologies. Conclusion. As a result of frame modeling the semantics of the terms of the sphere “Construction technologies” and the analysis of the cognitive categories “process” and “attribute”, within each of them, subcategories specific to construction terminology were identified. It was revealed that the most productive way of word formation in the analyzed terminology is suffixation and prefixation. The proposed frame models of terms reflect fragments of scientific knowledge verbalized by special nominations, and frame analysis is an effective method for studying the ways of categorizing scientific information. 6298 | The aim of work is to know how the project activity development dynamics of first-year students of psychological and pedagogical departments could be arranged and prove suggestions of project activity development levels: reproductive, productive, constructive. Based on the previous research and experience of working with future teachers, we suggest a hypothesis that in order to organize learning academic activity of children, a student needs to discover his/her own logic of pedagogical project, which, besides the commonly known project stages of idea – implementation – result also includes discovery of pedagogical principles as the main essence of professional knowledge instead of using a ready pattern. The content analysis method was used which collect data associates with the student’s ability to project activities. The work describes the results of the experiment in which participated 76 first-year students of the Institute of Pedagogy, Psychology and Sociology of the Federal State Autonomous Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education “Siberian Federal University”, including 52 students from two experimental groups of psycho-pedagogical direction and 24 students from the control group of pedagogical direction of training. The results show that the progress in project activity development of experimental group students differs significantly from the progress in project activity development of control group students. Therefore, it is only the focused work of the teacher intended to develop and implement the pedagogical project ideas, based on the open search dialogue activity principles discovered and formulated by students, that brings them to such results as early as during the first year of studies. 6299 | Introduction. The socio-political event of the UK’s exit from the European Union has attracted widespread attention in the mass media since 2016. The article focuses on the metaphorical conceptualization of Brexit in news discourse. Material and methods. The research is based on the news texts on Brexit from the British internet-editions such as The Guardian, The Independent, The Daily Telegraph and BBC News. The research methods used in the paper are the definitional analysis, componential analysis, complete enumeration method, interpretation analysis, content analysis, metaphorical conceptualization method. Results and discussion. The paper gives a detailed analysis and interpretation of Brexit metaphorical representation from a religious perspective. The religion has always played an essential role in the history of human society. It is considered not only to permeate all the spheres of human activity but also consciousness and subconsciousness. Therefore, journalists implicitly try to influence the values of recipients. The metaphorical submodel BREXIT – RELIGIOUS BELIEF revealed in the paper describes Brexit primarily as a religious belief to add more value for the British society. The metaphorical submodel BREXIT – RELIGIOUS BELIEF is transformed into the submodel BREXIT – CULT with a negative connotation as a pseudo-religious organization. The metaphorical submodel BREXIT – SECT considered in the paper has a destructive nature and it compares B. Johnson and his supporters with the terrorist group Al-Qaeda that is ready to murder and die for its ideology. Conclusion. Productive religious metaphorical submodels interpret Brexit as a negative process. The interpretive potential of conceptual religious metaphor is realized. 6300 | Introduction. This article carries out the analysis of the ways the stylistic convergence is rendered from Russian into English. The phenomenon of convergence has been thoroughly studied neither by the stylistics as far as its speech implementation is concerned, nor by the theory of translation taking into account all the semantic, stylistic and pragmatic information expressed by the author by means of convergence that needs to be rendered in translation. Quite often, scientific research studies the problem of transferring a particular stylistic device rather than their converged group which obviously complicates the translator’s work. The problem thus stated is aimed at revealing the most effective translation strategy for rendering the stylistic convergence in the target text. Aim and objectives. The aim of the article is to single out and analyze the ways the convergence of stylistic means is rendered from the source language into the target language maintaining its pragmatic function. Material and methods. The material for the study is the novel “Anna Karenina“ by L. Tolstoy and its translation in English by Margaret Wettlin published by Progress Publishers in 1978. The object of the research is convergence of stylistic means, the subject is the ways of its transference from Russian into English. The basis of the methodology lies in the scientific and linguistic methods including the descriptive and comparative ones. Results and discussion. The research has shown that the complete transference of the convergence is rather rare due to the lexical and structural peculiarities of the two languages. Having analyzed 70 text units we have come to the conclusion that 24 % of them are those in which the stylistic convergence is preserved in the target text. The stylistic convergence is rendered by substituting or adding some of its components in 12 % and 17 % of units respectively. The most frequent (47 %) are the cases when some of the converged stylistic means of the source text are omitted in translation. As for the pragmatic functions of the stylistic convergence, they are in most cases retained in the target text enhancing or, on the contrary, weakening the stylistic effect of the original text. Conclusion. The article gives a short historical overview of studying stylistic convergence and covers its main interpretations. The analysis of the research material includes the study of stylistic means that form the stylistic convergence in the literary text, the comparative analysis of the text units containing the stylistic convergence both in the source text and in the target text. We revealed the most frequent ways of rendering the stylistic convergence from Russian into English. In addition, we analyzed the pragmatic functions of the stylistic convergence as well as the ways they can be retained in translation.
