Tuchkov Aleksandr Gennadyevich The Problem of Evolution of European Civilization in the Current Positive Historiography of the Second Half XIX Century (H. Tain) // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2000. Issue 7 (23). P. 68-73

H. Tain is a famous representative of the philosophy of positivism. This article deals with Tain's point of view on the specifics of European historical process in the period between V-th-XVIII-th centuries. Tain's idea to investigate the history of development of the European civilization as an evolution of morals of European society was original and innovative in historiography of XIX century. Tain had enlisted the factors: longing to freedom, following the Christian laws, chevalry honesty and loyalty etc., which stimulated the development of moral evolution of the West from savage barbarian to civilized society.

Gantsalez-Diaz P. F. On tachyon and sub-quan-tum phantom cosmologies // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2004. Issue 7 (44). P. 36-40

This paper deals with dark and phantom energy in the tachyon and sub-quantum models tor dark energy. We obtain that the simplest condition for such a regime to occur in these scenarios Is that the scalar field be Wick rotated to imaginary values which correspond to an axionic field classically. By introducing analytical expressions for the scale factor or the Hubble parameter that satisfy all constraint equations of the used models we show that such models describe universes which develop a big rip singularity in the finite future.

Borisova Tatyana Sergeyevna EDUCATION AND TRAINING AS THE COMPONENTS OF FORMATION OF THE SOCIAL POTENTIAL OF THE YOUTH // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2017. Issue 4 (181). P. 28-33

The concept of “the social potential of the youth” is seen as a set of interrelated characteristics, reflecting its personal creative social resources that this social group and each individual strives to develop and realize in social practice to translate it in humanistic values and ideals. The social potential of the youth includes the willingness of young people to fulfill social roles and functions, the social and cultural experience of social groups and of each individual, his social competence, the need and readiness for self-realization in social practice, initiative, responsibility, citizenship, moral ideals and values, social subjectivity. Formation of social potential is a function of the institutions of training and education as social entities, as subjects of state-legal construction; it is based on socio-cultural traditions of education, taking into account the social and cultural environment as necessary ethical, moral and spiritual principles, on the involvement of children and young people into social practice; on social control as an integral socialization of the individual. Education is carried out in concrete historical conditions as a result of the existing social relations and ways of life of the society. The main criterion for its implementation and realization is the degree of correspondence of the qualities and properties of a person to life requirements. On the one hand the development of the potential of young people involves the creation of favorable conditions for the development of young people’s capabilities, improving the living conditions and the quality of the social environment, on the other hand – the increase of competitiveness of the potential of the youth throuth development of social sectors of economy. The tool that can solve the problem of the formation of the social potential of the youth is the social pedagogy.

Kositskaya Faina Leonidovna, Matyukhina Mariya Viktorovna ENGLISH MEDICAL DISCOURSE IN THE SPHERE OF PROFESSIONAL COMMUNICATION // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2017. Issue 6 (183). P. 44-48

Health is the main value of modern society. The priority scientific direction of the third Millennium is the development in the medical sphere to find some ways to increase the average duration of human life. The significance of health problem is due to the need to develop the effective methods of fighting the diseases against which ones the medicine is powerless. The relevance of the topic choice is due to the unflagging interest in the discourse studies in modern linguistics as well as the role of British medicine in the world and the British health system. One of the leading countries in the field of medicine is Britain, whose health system is remarkable for its flexibility and equal treatment of all patients regardless of their nationality and social class. The research object of this article is the English medical discourse, the subject of the study is its genre differentiation. In modern native and foreign linguistics there are a various approaches to understanding of the term “discourse”. The English medical discourse belongs to the institutional discourses. The list of institutional discourses is quite extensive: political, diplomatic, administrative, legal, military, pedagogical, religious, mystical, medical, business, advertising, the discourse of Fashion, post, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, perfumery, gastronomic and others. The article considers the English medical discourse which represents the interaction of medical discourse proper, scientific and advertising medical, media discourse, legislative (legal), commercial, and academic discourses in the sphere of medicine. The leading role here belongs to the medical discourse proper. The medical discourse is characterized by the polyphonic inclusion of historical, encyclopedic, social and pharmaceutical discourses. Ferrer E. Zh., Insera V. Photons and fermions in spacetime with a compactified spatial dimension // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2004. Issue 7 (44). P. 88-94

The effects of a nonsimpiy connected spacetime with the topology of S1 x R3 in the vacua of QED and gauged-NJL theories are investigated. It is shown that the polarization effects of twisted and untwisted fermions in QED are equivalent, once the corresponding stable vacuum solution of each fermion class is taken into account. The photon propagation in QED is found to be anisotropic and characterized by several massive photon modes and a superluminal transverse mode. At small compactification radius the masses of the massive modes increase as the inverse of the radius, while the massless photon mode has a superluminal velocity that increases logarithmically with that distance. At low energies the photon masses lead to an effective confinement of the gauge fields into a (2+i)-dimensional manifold transverse to the compactified direction. In the gauged-NJL model, it is shown that for both twisted and untwisted fermions, the smaller the compactification radius, the larger the critical four-fermion coupling needed to generate a fermion-antifermion chiral symmetry breaking condensate.

Agafonova E. G. A Backward and Forward Glance at Language Testing // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2006. Issue 9 (60). P. 75-81

The description of the present and future trends in language testing begins with a survey of the history of language testing originated from and closely linked with mental and educational tests. Researchers distinguish three historical periods (or rather trends) of language testing in the twentieth century: pre-scientific, psychometric-structuralistic and psycholinguistic-sociolinguistic. Many important national and international language tests are moving to computer based testing, viewed as a more practical alternative to paper-and-pencil testing. The next generation of computer based tests is considered to be computerized adaptive tests. Two significant language assessment products as applications of adaptive testing for large-scale language testing are presented.

Nazemtseva Mariya Andreyevna SPECIFICS OF INTERPRETATION OF FREEDOM IN THE CODE AS A NUCLEAR GENRE OF LEGAL DOCUMENT DISCOURSE // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2020. Issue 2 (208). P. 37-48

Introduction. The research explored representation of the concept freedom in the Code as a nuclear genre of legal document discourse. Aim and objectives of the article are to identify the specifics of implementation of the concept freedom, defined by modus-dictum organization of legal discourse and the specifics of the Code as its nuclear genre. Material and methods. The research material consists of the Codes of the Russian Federation, which are Family, Labour, Housing, Civil, and Criminal Codes. The selection of material is determined in accordance with the nuclear status of this genre in legal text. Being one of the main documents of legal discourse, the Code as well as the Constitution of the Russian Federation, reflects the foundations of Russian law. Freedom, as a key concept of Russian culture, is specifically represented in legal discourse. The methodology includes discourse and concept analysis: we observe discursive and genre features from the position of the Code in genre system of legal discourse. Freedom is analyzed through comparing this concept in the system of Russian linguistic world-image on the whole (based on material from studies already conducted) with legal discourse in particular. Results and discussion. We found that the concept freedom, in contrast to its common representation in Russian linguistic world-image, has a particular non-binary specificity and is transformed through the law. In everyday language, there is an opposition freedom (will)/unfreedom, and in the Code freedom is realized through a permissive (what can be done within the framework of the law), prohibitive modus (what is criminally punishable and prescribed through unfreedom, i.e. arrest), and a modus of obligation (what is required to be done by law). In addition, freedom in the Codes is influenced by their thematic sphere: there are freedom of family, labour, housing, and civil relationships. In opposition is what is prohibited to do and guarantees unfreedom (represented by the Criminal Code). Conclusion. Freedom in the legal document discourse is an officially recorded ability of a person to operate within the confines of the law. The Code as a nuclear genre of legal discourse transforms the concept through its modus-dictum modification. As a result, pivotal for the implementation of the concept freedom is the law, as well as the basic concepts of each selected Code – family, labour, housing, citizen, and punishment.

The study is based on the criticism methodology of studying of the literature that is relevant in contemporary literature and reveals the themes, problems, plots, motives common for the world literary space. The author’s model of the play by Alexander Vampilov, who worked in the tideway of a nonclassical art paradigm, is based on the free variation of elements of known plots (in particular, the above mentioned Romeo and Juliet) which act here as a cultural model. The most attention in the article is given to the devices of disclosing of the semantic potential of images of the main characters – Luka and Yeremeyev, to determination of their functions in the logic of the action and the location in the system of characters. It is noted that its characteristic feature is the multiple-level system of the action consisting of a set of plot lines, each of which has its reference, thus following to the literary model is obviously broken. The systematic displacement of accents in the solution of «another’s» plot allows one to build the author’s original concept of a person and the world.

Sami M., Dedich N. Unifying brane world inflation with quintessence // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2004. Issue 7 (44). P. 25-36

We review the recent attempts of unifying inflation with quintessence. It appears natural to join the two ends in the framework of brane world cosmology. The models of quintessential inflation belong to the class of non-oscillatory models for which the mechanism of conventional reheating does not work. Reheating through gravitational particle production is inefficient and leads to the excessive production of relic gravity waves which results in the violation of nucleosynthesis constraint. The mechanism of "Instant preheating" is quite efficient and is suitable for brane world quintessential inflation. The mode! is shown to be free from the problem of excessive production of gravity waves. The prospects of Gauss-Bonnet brane world inflation are also briefly indicated.

Domansky Valeriy Andreyevich, Kafanova Ol'ga Bodovna I. S. TURGENEV – RUSSIAN EUROPEAN: A VIEW FROM RUSSIA AND FRANCE // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2019. Issue 6 (203). P. 7-19

The article reveals the multifaceted activity of I. S. Turgenev as a Russian European, which is considered from different positions: biographical, social, political, philosophical, cultural. The Aim of the paper is to interpret the Genesis of the concept of “Russian European” and its existence in Russian culture; to study the role of the writer in the Russian-European cultural transfer with the involvement of his biography, social, translation activities and artistic creativity. Material and methods. The research methodology was carried out through the use of an integrated approach to the analysis of socio-cultural phenomena and was provided by a system of methods: biographical, historical and literary, historical and functional, cultural, historical and comparative typological. Results and discussion. A systematic approach to the consideration of the stated problem allowed us to study it in synchrony and diachrony, using the principles of dialogicality, discursivity and contextuality. The article presents Turgenev’s long way from the Westerner to the Russian European. His first attempt to make inroads into European society was not quite successful and brought him disappointment. On the contrary, his translation work was successful in order to promote Russian literature in France. And only after the publication of The Hunting Sketches and the novel Rudin in French and German Turgenev becomes famous in the West. The writer’s participation in the dinners of “booed playwrights” was an acknowledgment of his “Russianness” and “Europeanism” at the same time: he organically joined the circle of the French literary elite, while maintaining his special position due to the Russian mentality. Gradually Turgenev becomes more and more close, “his” both for Flaubert and for the generation of “children” (E. Zolà, A. Daudet, G. de Maupassant), who saw him as a friend, literary mentor, even a teacher. The final part of the study presents an analysis of Turgenev’s literary works in connection with the consideration of the typology of characters, correlated with the concept of “Westerners” and “Russian European” (the story Asya, the novel Rudin, On the Eve, Smoke). Results and discussion. The material of the article can be used in the activities of scientists (philologists and culturologists), teachers and school teachers to expand the understanding of the Russian writer and his contribution to the interaction of interpenetration and mutual enrichment of the two cultures – Russia and Europe. Conclusion. Turgenev is a classic Russian European: he combines all his activities and works of two cultures, seeks to include Russia in the European family, and on the other hand, contributes to the familiarization of Europe with the achievements of national culture.
