1 | Training of competent specialists in HEIs who have abilities for self-fulfillment and self-actualization in their professional activities and who are balancing both personal and professional significant qualities is a strategic goal of the contemporary higher education. Today the problem of design and elaboration of the adaptive educational system is conditioned by the need to optimize and adjust the principles of traditional didactics to the challenges of contemporary information society: perfection of the content and the methods of education taking into account the universal application of information technologies; design of electronic educational environment providing the approach to the learning materials and the freedom of choice of methods, forms and assessment of the results. The article considers the issues connected with pedagogical design of the adaptive system for mathematical training of students of higher educational institutions. It gives a definition of a methodological approach, proves conceptual levels of methodological analysis: philosophical, general scientific, specific scientific, technological which form a complicated subordinate system. As a methodological framework of the research the authors consider in depth the ideas of system, synergetic, environmental, person-centered, competency building, activity, context, process, axiological, and cultural approaches. They elicited and described main functional and conceptual approaches which made a methodological foundation for the design and development of the adaptive system for mathematical training of HEI students. 2 | Introduction. In rapid computerization and mathematization of almost all areas of knowledge the mathematical training of students at a higher education institution must be of an anticipatory nature and be aimed at obtaining results that will be in demand in a technologized society. Modern society requires the individual skills of self-organization, self-development, self-regulation, self-control, self-education, etc. These tasks can be successfully solved in the process of mathematical training of students with the competent organization of the educational process. Material and methods. The basis for the substantiation and implementation of the principle of refocusing the mathematical training process of the university students from “teaching maths” to “teaching by maths” was based on the methods of theoretical and empirical research. Results and discussion. The main tasks of high-quality mathematical education of students, which a modern university is facing today, are considered. Mathematics is characterized as a science and a body of knowledge; a language of research and modeling for solving problems in various fields of knowledge; a system of organization of thinking. The object, subject, methods and properties of mathematics are highlighted. The fundamental functions of students’ mathematical training are revealed: teaching mathematics – involving mastering the system of mathematical knowledge and skills, the formation of mathematical competence; teaching by mathematics – aimed at the intellectual development of students, formation of logical thinking, development of mathematical literacy, etc. The implementation of the principle “learning by mathematics” in the electronic educational environment is characterized through the integration of the content of mathematical courses with specialized disciplines; the choice of the type and method of presentation of educational material not only for carrying out calculations, but for visualizing abstract mathematical concepts and knowledge; differentiation and personification of teaching mathematics through the using non-linear methods and various types of presentation depending on the psycho-physiological characteristics, cognitive styles of students, professional area, including taking into account health features (persons with disabilities). Conclusion. The results of the study showed that refocusing the mathematical training process of the university students from “teaching maths” to “teaching by maths” through the organization of training within electronic educational environment allows students to assimilate the system of mathematical knowledge and skills, actively apply the methods of mathematical research; quickly adapt to the changing conditions of modern society and production, acquiring the necessary competencies for professional activities in the process of solving various applied problems. 3 | Introduction. The article considers the issue of the quality of training which is a fundamental criterion for the efficiency of the educational process in both traditional and innovative learning environment. Aim and objectives: to substantiate the indicators of the system for assessing the effectiveness of teaching mathematics in adaptive system within e-learning environment. Material and methods. The article reveals the parameters and regularities of building the adaptive systems of mathematical training of university students. The authors underline that when shifting during the process of mathematical training to the electronic educational environment, ensuring the high quality of training is becoming extremely important. The approach to determining the quality of e-learning in accordance with the standard is based on the development of detailed descriptions of each process and sub-process. Results and discussion. The article presents target indicators (regulatory and organizational, psychological and pedagogical, software and hardware, communication and personnel) and performance criteria for teaching mathematics in the adaptive system in conditions of the electronic educational environment. To give a more objective assessment of the efficiency of teaching mathematics in the adaptive system, each group criterion is described with the help of specific indicators that can be further measured and evaluated. A fully functional algorithm for evaluating the efficiency of teaching mathematics in the adaptive system in conditions of the electronic educational environment is indicated in the step-by-step implementation of technological operations in order to ensure the unity of internal and external quality control of training. Conclusion. An optimally developed system for evaluating the efficiency of teaching mathematics in the adaptive system in conditions of the electronic educational environment will undoubtedly ensure the efficiency of the educational activities of higher educational institutions, contribute to expanding access to the European educational space, and increase graduates’ competitiveness in the labor market.
