Pragmalinguistics is a core discipline within the modern linguistics. It is the study of human communication. This article deals with the choices speaker makes to express his intended meaning and the kinds of inferences that hearers draw from an utterance in the context of its use. The article surveys pragmalinguistics from different perspectives, presenting the main theories in pragmatic research, incorporating conscious verbal act as well as unconscious one. In the fast-developing field of implicit pragmalinguistics, our investigation fills the gap in the wide scope of today’s research revealing the actualization of the hidden grammatical meanings depending on the specific pragmatic situation of human communication. This article analyzes the verbal habits of New-Zealand politician John Key according to emotive and conative-oriented strategies. It also identifies the fragment of John’s verbal image based on automatized and unconscious choice of the speech signals, represented in the hidden verbal strategies. They are focused on the hidden conviction of the interlocutor and the formation of his mental state. The recipient takes them on an unconscious level simultaneously with lexical, semantic, grammatical forms and meanings. Speech signals of hidden intentions, as the contents of the hidden intentions are considered as the novelty of the work. The given verbal image allows us to reveal his automatized verbal experience, so therefore his individuality and uniqueness. The difficulty lies in the interpretation of these hidden intentions as well as their existence in speech and their perceptions by the recipients.

Introduction. Social networks are currently a platform not only for interpersonal, but also for professional communication. Due to the importance of the communicative aspect for medical activity, doctors support this trend. Thus, the implementation of the doctor’s self-presentation strategy in the social network requires scientific justification. Aim and objectives. The purpose of the research is to identify and analyze the communicative tactics and verbal means of implementing the doctor’s self-presentation strategy in the social network. Material and methods. The research material was the doctor’s media texts of the social network Instagram, created in the genre of network media post-presentation. The reason for choosing the material is the popularity of using the social network for personal and institutional communication on the Internet. The methodological basis of the research is the discursive and communicative-pragmatic approaches to the analysis of the text. Results and discussion. A post on a social network is a communicative event and has three levels of analysis: text, discursive practice, and social practice. The communicative interaction of a doctor and a “mass patient” is formed under the influence of media discourse into an independent discursive practice – medical blogging. Medical communication in the process of public functioning on the Internet reveals the features of mass media, marketing and personalityoriented discourses. The communicative-pragmatic analysis of media texts allowed us to reveal communicative tactics of label communication, communication of information about education, appeals to the profession through images of “I am a doctor” and “I am an expert in the field of medicine”, transfer of subjective information, actualization of devotion to the profession, accentuation of negative information, and ability to overcome difficulties. The linguistic analysis demonstrated the use of typical language means, characteristic of Internet communication. Conclusion. Analysis of the communicative tactics of the doctor’s self-presentation strategy allows us to conclude that the media text of the Instagram social network has a high potential in creating an attractive image of a representative of the medical community. The status of a medical blogger allows a doctor to use communicative tactics of media communication to form a positive professional image in the knowledge of a mass audience.

The article reflects the results of studies of emotional intelligence (EI), coping strategies and behavior patterns of students of secondary school aged 14–15. The highest prevalence is low emotional intelligence – 51.4 % of respondents, and only 6.7 % of students – high. There is the relationship between the components of EI and the patterns of impaired functioning. Low level of empathy increases the likelihood of social problems. The higher is the level of emotional intelligence and its indicators, the lower is the risk of manifestations and problems in emotional and behavioral areas. Highlight the links between the applied coping strategies and components of EI. Students with high and average EI increasingly choose adaptive coping mechanisms, in contrast to the group with low levels of EI, using increasingly less effective strategy. The lower is the level of EI, the less frequently are used coping strategies in a stressful situation, both adaptive and non-adaptive, and consequently, the higher is the risk / manifestations of behavioral and emotional problems.

The article is focused on the methods of compounds’ distinguishing in the English language. The notions of grammatical continuity and semantic integrity of a lexical combination are analysed. Various criteria of differentiating compounds from phrases are observed: phonetic, orthographic, morphologic, syntactic and semantic. Special emphasis in laid on the practical application of each criterion. It is shown that none of them can be used alone for making precise differentiation between compounds and phrases. Each of them should be supported by approximately two other criteria. Therefore, the author gives examples of the most effective ways of using the methods described in the article.

The paper is devoted to studying the communicative and pragmatic foundations of personality self-presentation and its significance in the process of communication. In modern society the intensification of communicative processes demands considerable resources from a person to govern the impression. The development of mass communications and political technologies increases the importance of governing the impression and constructing one’s own image that is not only a mean for various kinds of manipulation, but is a necessary element of self-realization for every person. Most researchers of self-presentation note the man’s aspiration to create a positive image is formed by tactics of emphasizing positive information. The implementation of the tactics in the “star” interview suggests the demonstration of positive characteristics, outstanding leadership skills, and the ability to overcome difficulties, the source of creative inspiration. The texts of the “star” interview are analyzed from the various ways of verbalizing the tactics of emphasizing positive information. The spectrum of lexical-semantic and syntactical means, conducive to positive selfpresentation of the public person is carefully analyzed. The practical value of the work is determined by the possibility to use its provisions and conclusions for preparing training courses and special seminars on communication, cognitive linguistics, pragmalinguistics, and image.

Abstract Introduction. The study is devoted to the historical and pedagogical analysis of the problem of gamification. The relevance of the study is due to the insufficient level of substantiation of both the concept itself and its content, the features of the application of the leading ideas of this theory in education. The purpose of the article is to identify and substantiate the features of the formation of the leading provisions of the theory of gamification in Russian pedagogical science (1992–2021). Material and methods. Methodological guidelines at various stages of the research were the main provisions of the dialectical approach, the systematic approach in historical and pedagogical research. The theoretical study was carried out on a set of publications of the scientific electronic library (www.elibrary.ru), published in 1992–2021. Research methods – theoretical: analysis of philosophical, psychological, pedagogical literature on the problem under study; logical-historical and systemic Results and discussion. In the course of the research, we came to the conclusion that gamification is a modern pedagogical category “describing the use of approaches in teaching, characteristic of computer games”, whose use provides motivation for participants in the educational process in the ecosystem of an educational organization, contributes to their optimal interaction, personal and professional development by means of special game methods. The formation of the theory of gamification in education in Russia was carried out within a number of stages. At the first stage of the development of the theory of gamification “Formation of ideas about gamification in Russian pedagogical science” (2010–2015), first of all, the scattered data on the origin of the phenomenon itself were generalized and formalized, the theoretical prerequisites for its occurrence were described, attempts were made to substantiate the concept and features of the phenomenon gamification, presents some materials on the process of gamification and its specific application in various areas of human life, including education. At the second stage, “Formation of the leading areas of study of the phenomenon of gamification in Russia” (2016–2019), certain leading methodological and theoretical foundations were identified, the foundation was laid for substantiating the concepts of organizing the educational process using elements of gamification in higher education, the tasks of gamification for organizations were formulated general and additional education of children. The third stage “Formation and systematization of the leading ideas of the theory of gamification” (2020 to date) is characterized by the quantitative accumulation of scientific knowledge about the phenomenon, the formation of its elements at the theoretical and methodological level, and the creation of elements of a modern technological product. Conclusion. At present, a new stage is entering in the formation of this phenomenon, which allows at a qualitatively new level to substantiate the content of gamification as a modern educational technology, which makes it possible to organize a networked educational process in online and offline modes at a fundamentally new level.

Results of research of personal characteristics of psychological readiness for research activity at beginning scientists are shown. The examined material allows the authors of the article to believe that convention as a concept has arisen relatively recently and as the phenomenon it showed itself always in different ways and in historically varying creation principles of a work of literature as a whole. Actualisation of the discussion of the latter aspect designated differently occurs, as a rule, in situations of social commotion or during the time of renewal of art language. As regards to Russian history of trying to interpret convention, co-authors attach great importance to Pushkin's reflexion in his polemics with Aristotle's followers. In collected articles about new theatre of 1908 and 1914 years, convention means a category and later avant-gardist in their performances of 1920s developed the ideas of Aristotle's followers.

This work develops the statements of works [1–3]. Author’s experience of teaching disciplines for the students studying in the direction of training «Applied informatics» is generalized. Some questions of techniques of teaching discipline «Document science and documentary ensuring management» are considered. The main directions of further research are considered. They consist in highlighting the activation of interdisciplinary links between disciplines aimed at forming the professional competencies of students. It is planned to continue modernization of the developed materials of the electronic courses intended for support of independent work of students in the study of disciplines. It is important to develop tasks for independent work which would promote increase in interest of students in studying of materials of the discipline. In addition, we are developing the funds of evaluation tools in the form of test questions, questions for credit. It is concluded that the use of e-course materials contributes to the formation of professional competence of future graduates. Further goals on educational system development are also discussed. We are going to continue developing electronic educational materials, reference books and seminars. These materials will be used for the formation of professional competence of students who are training in the direction of «Applied Informatics». The article presents the results of using the developed methodological materials. Besides, the results of testing of students in the section «Document and System of Documentation» are analized.

The article deals with the method of moral dilemmas used for development of communicative competence in foreign language teaching at higher school. The author pays special attention to the need of stimulation of any speech activity of students with the aim of clarifying of the unexpectedly appeared misunderstanding. The author underlines that showing oneself in the discussion, regardless of the language knowledge and skills and having no fear of making a mistake, is an invaluable experience for speaking. The author presents the examples of moral dilemmas used in teaching English at higher school and the stages of the work with them and gives specific recommendation on it. While describing the work with dilemmas, the author points out the importance of correct determination of size and gender composition of the groups and the possibility of discussing moral dilemmas by the students having different level of the language. The author comes to the conclusion that the discussion of moral dilemmas in the classroom while teaching foreign languages at higher education institution not only contributes to the understanding of moral values and qualities, but also develops language skills, fluency of speech, speech accuracy; it improves pronunciation and interaction with a partner.

In this article «A Writer's Dairy» is analyzed as the unique example of representation of F. M. Dostoevsky's existential experience. The events of author's private life, comprehension of vast layers of human being experience and its social, psychological features acquire universal character and become the part of an extra personal whole. The content of «A Writer's Dairy» by Dostoevsky is focused on the basic concept «victim», which enables the victimological discourse of the text. The legitimacy of victimological discourse distinguishing is confirmed by the analysis of genre features (synthesis of dairy, confessionary and publicistic principles, «genre of public confession», «publicistic cycle»), macrostructure of the text (dividing on chapters, use of insert texts), aspect consideration each chapter unity (thematic, referential, eventual, timely).
