The article relates to one of the basic but less studied functions of an inside form of a word, which is connected with the expression of typological features of the world’s languages. On the basis of the results of motivological-comparative analysis of the thematic groups of the Russian, Ukraine, Poland, French, English and German the characteristics of realization of studied function are examined.
