FOREIGN LANGUAGE MEANS FUNCTIONING IN TOMSK NOMINATIONS: BASIC TENDENCIES // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2010. Issue 6 (96). P. 16-20

Basic principles of nomination of town objects in Tomsk is revealed. The terminological set is provided, ergonims classification from the viewpoint of foreign language means functioning is presented. The diversity of graphical representation of ergonims and word-formation means are discussed.

The article deals with the ways of the author premises verbalization to create the foreign ergonyms. Relation of the information potential of foreign ergonyms with the author intention and their representation means is revealed. Foreign ergonyms classification from the viewpoint of semantic transparency is suggested.
