CHEKHOV’S “STORY OF THE UNKNOWN MAN”: DIALOGUE WITH “ONEGIN” PLOT // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2012. Issue 3 (118). P. 132-136

The correlations between the literary system of Chekhov’s story and the image system of “Eugene Onegin” are defined in this article. The textual coincidences, which emphasize the “connection” and difference between Pushkin’s and Chekhov’s characters, are analyzed. The originality of the Chekhov’s view of the typical “literary” situation “The Russian on a rendez-vous” is disclosed.
