The article touches upon the development of the foreword as a traditional form of literary thinking represented in its two basic types; the author's foreword proper («an explaining one») and the «playing» foreword, which styles «a stanger's» mind and «a stranger's* speech. The latter is Interpreted as a literary form providing ground for thought over evolution in literature.
