| 1 | The article examines the historical and pedagogical analysis of professional education in social work. Analyzes publications of leading researchers, archival statistics data. Particular attention is paid to the application of systematic, historical and genetic approaches in the study of the training system for the social sphere. As a result, it is proposed to use the periodization of formation and development of professional education in social work in modern Russia. Within the developed periodization compares the processes of development of social work and educational institutions that train specialists for the social sphere. These facts point to the compliance of the periodization with the national and regional development of vocational education in social work.
