| 1 | The study deals with aspectual-taxis situations in which finite verbs and adverbial participles express one actiondenotatum – motion, which represents a specific type of taxis relations – pseudosimultaneity. The relevance of the study is determined by its inclusion in the integral study of language taking into account the interaction of means of different levels in expressing semantic categories. The theoretical and methodological basis of the study are the works of the St. Petersburg school of functional grammar of A.V. Bondarko in which the concept of taxis as a semantic category expressing relations of simultaneity/sequence (precedence / posteriority) between actions within an integral period of time was developed and aspectual-taxis situations were described as typical categorical structures in which the semantics of taxis is expressed. At the present moment the category of taxis in the Russian language has been widely studied from the point of view of the participation of aspectual forms in expressing its semantics, while less attention has been paid to the lexical meaning of verbal lexemes. The purpose of the study is to identify and characterize the types of the situation of pseudosimultaneity in which finite verbs and adverbial participles denote motion. The material of the study consists of utterances with finite verbs of imperfective and perfective aspects nominating motion with varying degrees of concreteness and adverbial participles of imperfective aspect expressing the manner and direction of motion. The source material was the main subcorpus of the National Corpus of the Russian Language (the time period – 20th-21st centuries). As a result of the study, it was revealed that the situation of pseudo-simultaneity is realized in several types: pseudo-simultaneity of the processes of motion in the middle recorded periods; pseudosimultaneity of the general process of motion and a number of its constituent successive stages; pseudosimultaneity of the processes of motion with the actualization of the starting/ending point. The relations between the aspectual forms of finite verbs and adverbial participles in each type were identified; subgroups of verbs of motion that can function in finite and adverbial forms in one construction were identified; restrictions on collocability were established. The results of the research contribute to studying the problem of aspectual-taxis situations in the Russian language expressed in constructions with adverbial participles and finite verbs.
