Technological transfer; modern university and industry - new lines of synthesis // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2001. Issue 2 (27). P. 73-75

Three articles devoted to the role of universities in the development of modern society, their relationship to industry, are reviewed by the authors. They state that commercialization of higher school leads to loss of its specific features, its transformation into a very expensive business of industry of getting knowledge. It is supposed that cooperation of universities and industry will lead to synthesis of fundamental- and applied knowledge, and to more active use of the fundamental knowledge itself. For this purpose the term "technological transfer" is offered.
