FORMATION AND ESTIMATION OF THE COMPETENCES OF STUDENTS-GEOGRAPHERS OF THE TOMSK STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2010. Issue 10 (100). P. 63-65

The competence-oriented professional training assumes an orientation to forming of special knowledge, skills and universal abilities of students. Now, they are claimed on a modern labor-market. Key competences are forming in practical and prequalifying trainings. They are revealed at drawing up in a portfolio-process. Sociological opinion poll among students and practice-masters and potential employer for qualitative estimation on projected competences of graduates was carried out. The rating of competences on the basis of the received results is constructed.

First geological knowledge was incorporated into the Russian school education in the 18th century. Geological excursions have great educational potential. They reveal the philosophical basis of geological knowledge, increase the level of teaching the subject «Geography» and are of interest to their homeland. In the suburbs of the city of Tomsk in the garden “Lagerny Sad” students could study natural objects and processes, the formation of which began approximately 360–340 million years ago and still continues nowadays.

The substantiation of methodological approach with the determination of the content, formation, structure and mechanisms of the fundamental training of geography teachers is a compulsory condition of the realization of the federal state standard of the basic general education. Meta-subject generalization appear to be the principle of the integration of the content of feducation, formation of theoretical thinking and universal methods of activity.
