The article contains explanation of theoretical and practical importance of linguistic and cultural competence for generation of language person of a schoolchild in connection with competence approach to up-to-date teaching the Russian language. The connection of linguistic and cultural competence with communicative, linguistic and language competence with a glance of achievements in Russian, linguistic and cultural, cognitive linguistic and communicative stylistics of a text teaching is examined.
