THE BRETON LINGUISTIC BOUNDARY: CAUSES OF SEPARATION, SHIFT FACTORS AND CHANGES FROM THE 9TH TO 20TH CENTURIES // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2013. Issue 10 (138). P. 84-88

The article is dedicated to considering the Breton linguistic boundary, which an imaginary line divided the French region of Brittany to Breton and Romance zones for a long time. Special attention is paid to the shift causes of the Breton area to the West, as well as the general historical context of Breton language supplantation out of the communicative space of the region. The author considers the milestone stages of the Breton linguistic boundary change and comes to the conclusion that now it finds its expression in the difference of toponymy, traditions and regional variants of the French language of the region.

STEREOTYPES OF BRITTANY IN THE CULTURE AND LANGUAGE: THE HUMOROUS ASPECT // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2013. Issue 11 (139). P. 216-220

The article is devoted to the analysis of the evolution of the stereotypes of perception of Bretons and Breton language by the French society. The special attention in the article is focused to the description of the comic effect created at the mention of one of the markers of Breton cultural identity. The author gives examples from the various works, confirming the existence of steady stereotypes of perception of Brittany. It also covers autostereotypes – a vision of the Breton identity and the Breton character by Bretons.
