The article presents an estimation of the basic approaches to definition of a condition of ecological-economic systems. The special attention is given to methodological aspects of formation of ecological-economic system as the territorial and production complex including economic, ecological and social subsystems. The authors consider among the basic approaches the application of international standards of series ISQ-14000, a hydrochemical index of pollution, and also the integrated reduced index of pollution and system of penalties for providing of doubtful data, as a special case for the estimation of industrial water sources condition
