Didactic Potential of «Folk Orthodoxy» in Teaching the Russian Language as a Foreign Language
The article presents the author’s experience in acquainting non-Russian speaking students majoring in philology with orthodox spiritual culture. The author resorts to biblical texts, popular spiritual literature, folklore texts on the topic, namely proverbs, sayings, phraseological units pertaining to the sphere of ‘popular religion’. The author highlights methodological concerns relevant to the issue, discusses teaching techniques to be used in class, develops criteria for choosing study material, and presents sample tasks on using folklore material in class and during out-of-class activities
