The article is aimed at studying the essence of Brecht’s conception about the comic and the tragic categories. Being included into the system of artistic and aesthetic values of Brecht’s epic drama theory, the aforementioned categories gave a stimulus to develop a new one – the tragic and comic, as the one that is viewed by us as having another content, different from a traditional the tragic-comic one.
