Results of the IV All-Russian scientific and practical conference “Children’s and adolescent literature: approaches to analysis, reading practices, and the regional context of study”

The article summarizes the results of the IV All-Russian scientific and practical conference with international participation “Children’s and adolescent literature: approaches to analysis, reading practices, regional context of study”, held at Tomsk State Pedagogical University on October 11–12, 2025. The plenary session identified the main areas of the conference: literary studies, sociology, and the pedagogical aspect of studying children’s literature and reading. The breakout reports had a wide range of topics: the use of folklore genres, images and motifs in children’s and youth literature, the problem of intergenerational relations, issues of tradition and continuity in the problematic and poetics of works, the pedagogical potential of creativity of modern authors, the definition of the reading range of modern children and adolescents, mechanisms of book distribution among the readership, reflection in the texts of modern authors events of a socio-historical nature. The conference featured presentations on both the works of worldfamous writers (P.P. Ershov, G.H. Andersen), as well as little-known regional writers (I.I. Likstanov, V.D. Kolupaev, E.V. Klyuev, T.E. Meiko, etc.). The research focus most often includes writers of the Soviet period and contemporary times, but equally interesting are fantasy and realistic literature, fundamental and applied issues in the study of children’s and youth literature and reading.
