«Adjectives» in Uralic Languages (on Basis of the Finnish, Hungarian, Udmurt, Komi and Mordvinian Languages) // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2006. Issue 9 (60). P. 67-70

This article is dedicated to the problem of status determination of the word classes that fulfill the function of the actant attribute in the Finnish, Hungarian, Udmurt, Komi and Mordvinian languages. The problem of determination of this class of words consists in the absence of their own categories, they always borrow these categories either from the nouns as in case of the Finnish language or they remain invariable as in case of the Hungarian, Udmurt, Komi and Mordvinian languages and then the difficulty emerges to distinguish, for example, the actant attribute and the predicate attribute. These facts do not allow us saying, as traditionally, about the independent part of speech – adjectives, only about the group of wordforms, formed of roots of quality meanings and united by the function of expressing of the attribute.

The article deals with the problem of semantic distribution in the functional grouping of actant attributes in Finnish and Selkup languages. The analysis is based on the principals of “the word-form grammar”, which is being developed by A. P. Volodin. In spite of the genetic relationship of the above-mentioned languages, they reveal basic distinctions in the investigated question.

The article deals the problem of the Russian language influence on the minority languages of the Russian Federation. The results of the influence could be seen in the Finno-Ugric grammar description, which is often performed following Russian grammatical tradition. The influence is also revealed in the process of Finno-Ugric textbook creating and the methods of material presenting.
