The Early Indo-European language, being a language with the active structure, at the dawn of its history had the two-case paradigm. During the typological shift the former active case developed into the genitive, while the inactive case became the accusative. The nominative case developed from the genitive later, and the Indo-European and particularly Old German words with the meaning “tooth” have preserved some archaic features of the time when the nominative case did not perform the function of the subject.

Presents the system of principles and provisions of the socializing approach to training of a craft profession which provides the managed socialization process. The system allows to develop and reform the system of professional education performing training of handicraftsman-businessman in different types of craft. The author states pedagogical conditions of planning of value-oriented pedagogical management which are the potential for further theoretical and applied researches in the field of professional socialization of various social groups. The process of socialization is shown as the sequence of stages, having passed which the pupil handicraftsman masters the social values and standards of behavior. For this purpose the author developed the concept of adjustment of curricula to the purposes of integration system and valuable and social role model of handicraftsmen entrepreneurs in social and pedagogical system of professional education. In the article we are talking about the psychological and pedagogical adaptation of Chinese students in preparatory courses, mastering Russian as a foreign language from zero level. The key moment in this process is the psychological and pedagogical support of foreign native speakers by their teacher. Based on the conducted Russian and foreign studies, it is noted that informal communication and extracurricular activities of teachers contribute to facilitating the adaptation process in the new educational environment and improving the performance of foreign listeners. The basis of such activities are curators and tutors of training groups who have knowledge of cultural and religious norms and have an idea of the generally accepted rules of conduct of their wards. It is noted that as a result of the presence of such support, the process of adaptation of Chinese listeners and, accordingly, the educational process is optimized. The problem of psychological and pedagogical adaptation is very multifaceted, so for a more effective psychological and pedagogical support of Chinese students, it is necessary to create a system of common policies supporting foreign students. For the successful adaptation of foreign students to the reality of the Russian cultural, social and educational environment, the services and units of Russian universities that engage in hiring and accompanying foreign students must be staffed by teachers, specialists in the field of intercultural communication, ethnography and psychology. Russia can take a worthy place in the world market of educational services, because it has certain advantages, such as high level of teaching, more affordable cost of education, compared to other countries. To the list of advantages it is possible to add the introduction of the system of psychological and pedagogical support of foreign students, including all stages of the educational process.

The article deals with the question of representation of the interdiscourse category in the scientific medical discourse. It provides the differentiation of the notions “intertextuality” and “interdiscursivity” and gives parameters of their differentiation. In case of intertextuality the sings are linguistic units that indicate the interaction between texts, in case of interdiscursivity the indications are the elements of conceptual and linguistic plan of the discourse. The article shows the interaction between intertextuality and interdiscursivity in the scientific medical discourse. Intertextuality depends on interdiscursivity and marks it with the help of different linguistic means. In the scientific medical discourse marked and unmarked forms represent interdiscursive connections. The article presents the examples of realization of interdiscursive connections in the scientific medical discourse. It concludes that interdiscursivity in the scientific medical discourse is a cognitive and a discursive phenomenon. The cognitive side of interdiscursivity reflects the possibility to gain and organize medical knowledge; the discursive one is connected with the extension of knowledge in the text that allows considering the acquired knowledge and experience. The category of interdiscourse is actualized by the inclusion of fragments of knowledge in this type of text that have textual and nontextual etymology and which relate to other discourses.

The paper presents the results of the analysis of the morphosyntactic components expressing the Path semantic component in the translational motion event which are referred to as directional verbal satellites following L. Talmy’s typology. The attempt has been made to characterize the Ket language using Talmy’s typologies of lexicalization patterns, as well as D. Slobin’s typology of the expression of motion events. The conclusion has been drawn that Ket belongs to satellite-framed languages (in L. Talmy’s typology), and to high-path-salient but low-manner-salient languages (in D. Slobin’s typology); the verb root characteristically does not confl ate the semantic components, but expresses only the Motion component.

The focus of the article is on the question of the discourse picture of the world of modern radio (radio station “Echo of Moscow”). The paper considers the ideological level of its axiological modeling, which is understood as a system of communicative norms, genre and theme making, and axiological attitudes within the boundaries of discourse. Meta-logical units reflected in the system of meta-linguistic and meta-discursive speech acts of journalists (hosts of analytical programs) are described as an implicit form of discourse ideology. The analysis revealed distinguishing features of the discursive communicative model of analytical segment of the radio: the synchronization of the author’s and the addressee`s positions is achieved through the communicative attitude of personal presentation of information (social issues). The discourse picture of the world is created at the intersection of external ideology of mass media discourse and internal, axiological positions of discourse agents – journalists, radio presenters. As a result, the picture of the world is reflected in a unique communicative and speech model of discourse manifested in the effects of both institutional and personal impact on the recipient.

Nowadays language education is undergoing serious anthropocentric transformations. Teachers, who creatively process foreign experience, conduct a deep search for activity-oriented methodologies, including a maximum of interactive forms of instruction in the lesson. One of the most effective among them is theatricality. We view theatricality as a highly effective pedagogical resource that generates the communicative and discursive multicompetences, motivating students, fomenting their socialization and increasing the attractiveness for them of a foreign language lesson. Dramatizing practice implements pedagogical activity approach. Theatrical episode is a kind of public speaking, which develops various subspecies of human intellect. In theatre plays, everything is important: words, voice, speech tempo, timbre, pause, glance, gesture, movement, body language. It is very important working with gestures, obligatory in theatre situation, because traditional lesson blocks gestures’ aspect. The student learns to impress play-partners and feel this impact as some kind of a psychological victory over oneself. A specific contact with others on professional subjects occurs. Students see themselves forced to develop certain proper tactics contacting and influencing the others. It is very necessary in life and profession. Students learn to control mood and attitude among classmates, overcoming their fears; train spontaneity and ease in speech; acquire skill of public speaking and critical skills verbal interaction.

The present stage of development of Russia is followed by essentially new processes in economic, political, social, spiritual and ideological spheres of public life. In modern sociocultural situation an important place is taken by valuable self-determination of the personality as selection, individual perception of value by the subject, personal preferences of ideals, norms, standards and other values, creation of their hierarchy according to subjective preferences, their inclusion in goals and motives of activity. The article reveales the concept «valuable self determination» as the ascension of the school students to the values of school geography in the course of interaction with the teacher directed to formation of the value-semantic sphere of the individual which results in a conscious goalsetting and comprehension of the importance of studying geography at school, as well as such concepts as «space of valuable self-determination», «space of school geography». The approximate level structure of valuable self-determination of the student in the course of studying of school geography depending on age features of school students is given, and the following levels are considered: the socially oriented valuable self-determination which is personal and transforming valuable selfdetermination, predictive valuable self-determination.

The active cooperation of countries in various spheres of life leads to a constant demand for the translation of normative documents, including international treaties regulating the procedure for interaction of the countries. An international agreement is a legal document and refers to the official business style, the features of which are accuracy, clarity, and lack of ambiguity. A characteristic feature of the style in English is the large number of modal verbs having several meanings that sometimes cannot be expressed by modal verbs in Russian. The translator faces the difficult task of choosing translation units suitable for adequate translation of the meaning of the modal verb. The aim of the study is to determine the ways of translating modal verbs from English into Russian in legal texts through identifying the factors by which the translator can determine the meaning of a modal verb in a specific context and correlating them with the adequate variants of translation into Russian. The research is based on an international treaty between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Indonesia in the law enforcement sphere using such methods of linguistic analysis as descriptive, comparative, and quantitative. The most frequent modal verb in English treaties is shall; may is in second place; other modal verbs are found, but extremely rare. Modal verbs are translated into Russian by: a verb in the present tense; a verb “может”; a contracted form of an adjective “должен”; an adverb “необходимо”. When translating modal verbs into Russian, it is necessary to take into account many factors: the requirements of the functional style of speech; shades of the meanings of modal verbs and their function in the sentence; the context specifying the meaning of the modal verb; the norms of the translation language.

This is based on comparing visual lightning observations aver¬age multiannual values of thunderstorm activity and the data of a density of lightning discharges to the ground, obtained with a multistation system locating thunderbolts to the ground. The article analyses a possibility to use the stem-building suffix -ein- in the function of the definite article in the gothic language. This suffix is based on the Indo-European pronominal root that used to have a demonstrative meaning (Jener-Deixis). Further use of the suffix -n- as a marker of relation to something resulted in its development into a marker of a constant, typical feature of a thing or a being that made them definite. The meaning of definiteness expressed by the suffix is revealed if one compares the use of abstract nouns derived from the same root and belonging to different declension types in the gothic language.

The present paper is devoted to the comparison of A. S. Pushkin’s tragedy “Boris Godunov” with “History of Russian State” by Karamzin. Apprehending by Pushkin the artistic originality of Karamzin’s “History of the Russian State” appeared not only in real corresponding, idea community, but in the artistically – aesthetic influence of “History” by Karamzin to the Pushkin’s tragedy. Analyzing the organization of artistic time and space around the images of Boris Godunov and the False Demetrius it’s possible to see the definite rhythmic drawing which is similar very much with Karamzin’s presentation of the 10th –12th centuries events of “History of the Russian State.”

This paper analyses the problem of improving the methods of teaching and learning programming in university and school. The authors justify the need for new methods and forms of education related to the teamwork of students, multimedia content, and other virtual spaces. The article analyzes the programming of teaching practice in leading foreign universities and proposes the main ways of improving the teaching of programming in Russian schools. The article provides an overview of the educational content of the Internet, which allows us to state that the most wide spread spectrum of creative approaches to teaching programming, as well as high efficiency of teaching are the United States and European universities. Many of the leading Western universities successfully collect and develop methods from other regions of the world: Russia, USA, China, India, Asia and Africa. The authors analyze their own experience in teaching programming and suggest starting the transformation of traditional approaches to teaching programming and methods of teaching computer science in pedagogical universities, hoping that progressive teaching practices from teachers’ universities will spread to the school.
