Kudryavtseva I.P. PERSONAL PERCEPTION OF TIME EXPRESSED BY ENGLISH SET EXPRESSIONS IN MODERN LITERARY TEXTS. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2017. Issue 10 (187). P. 96-102

The article considers individual aspect of time perception. Firstly, a brief theoretical review of problem studies goes. Depending on mood and activity, personal time proceeds either quickly or slowly and it can be either pleasant or not. Positive emotions bring a deceptive impression of a fast flow of time. Negative emotions, on the contrary, subjectively lengthen the time intervals. The practical part examines around 30 modern English set expressions denoting time as perceived by a person. The conclusion says that the perception of time as short/long or pleasant/unpleasant is expressed in speech through fixed collocations used by authors of modern fiction. Short time is described in dictionary English set expressions as “fun” and “it flies”. Long time “hangs heavily on one’s hands.” Unpleasant time is “bad, hard, dark, evil, rough, thin, lean and it is not one’s own. Pleasant time is “good, easy, the best of one’s life, the time of one’s life, high and there’s a lot of it”. Pleasant time “has its moments, it is one’s finest hour and it makes one’s day”. Fiction authors’ creative thinking depicts bad time as “poor, awful, dreadful, horrible, terrible, very uncomfortable, devil of a time and hell of a bloody time”. Pleasant time is “nice, lovely, great, excellent, delightful, smashing, terrific, fantastic, marvelous, riotous, and dead good”. The considered aspect of a writer’s individual style of personal, timerelated vocabulary is worth further research.

Keywords: idiom, set expression, subjective time, personal time, perception of time described by language units, English fiction, literary text

Yudina Y.G., Fedorenko E.Y., Dreytser S.I. ESSENCE AND DEVELOPMENT LEVELS OF FIRST-YEAR UNIVERSITY STUDENTS’ PEDAGOGICAL PROJECT ACTIVITY. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2019. Issue 3 (200). P. 48-54

The aim of work is to know how the project activity development dynamics of first-year students of psychological and pedagogical departments could be arranged and prove suggestions of project activity development levels: reproductive, productive, constructive. Based on the previous research and experience of working with future teachers, we suggest a hypothesis that in order to organize learning academic activity of children, a student needs to discover his/her own logic of pedagogical project, which, besides the commonly known project stages of idea – implementation – result also includes discovery of pedagogical principles as the main essence of professional knowledge instead of using a ready pattern. The content analysis method was used which collect data associates with the student’s ability to project activities. The work describes the results of the experiment in which participated 76 first-year students of the Institute of Pedagogy, Psychology and Sociology of the Federal State Autonomous Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education “Siberian Federal University”, including 52 students from two experimental groups of psycho-pedagogical direction and 24 students from the control group of pedagogical direction of training. The results show that the progress in project activity development of experimental group students differs significantly from the progress in project activity development of control group students. Therefore, it is only the focused work of the teacher intended to develop and implement the pedagogical project ideas, based on the open search dialogue activity principles discovered and formulated by students, that brings them to such results as early as during the first year of studies.

Bogoslovskaya Z.M., Kulakovskaya K.V., Shchegolikhina Y.V. ANTHROPONYMS OF RUSSIAN GERMANS IN TOMSK REGION ACCORDING TO SURVEY. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2018. Issue 4 (193). P. 59-64

The paper refers to the sphere of German studies, which is devoted to the language and culture of Russian Germans. The paper deals with anthroponymics – an understudied part of lexicon of the popular-spoken language of this ethnic community. The relevance of research topic is dictated by 1) urgent tasks of fixing, preserving and studying language and culture of Russian Germans as minority entities; 2) need to understand the linguo-cultural problems related to ethnoses and ethnic groups, with the use of still unused empirical materials, as well as testimony of metalanguage consciousness; 3) need for a detailed study of the nominal system of Russian Germans. The work was written due to the results of a fulltime audience survey of Russian Germans now living in Tomsk. It analyzes the names and demonstrations of metalanguage consciousness of representatives of this diasporic group. The names and demonstrations are represented in relation to proper names, which have German “color”. The aim of the paper is to determine whether Russian Germans’ proper names preserve the ethno-cultural connotation. The work results have both linguistic and historical-cultural significance. The combination of different ways of studying proper nouns of Russian Germans – revealing the procedural linguistic knowledge of subjects and referring to their declarative knowledge of German language allows to recreate links of anthroponymic system of this ethnic community. New lexical units, which clarify the notion of peculiarities of marks of Russian Germans are introduced into scientific usage. They can be used to compile anthroponymic dictionaries, a database of dying cultures.

Skripnik A.V. POETICS OF GOGOL’S “THE FAIR OF SOROTCHNETZ”: NATIONAL COLOR AND PROBLEMS OF TRANSLATION OF THE NON-EQUIVALENT LEXIS AS MARKERS OF THE EPOCH. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2018. Issue 4 (193). P. 154-158

Adequate reproduction of the national-cultural color of the text is always at the center of the translation and accentuates the problem of the interrelation between language and culture. The translation of the works of the XIX century with the specific style and a large number of obsolete words and realities is complicated because of the need to preserve the historical color. The national coloring of the work is manifested in such elements of the text as the plot, characters, individual realities, which are the most “nationally” painted vocabulary, situations that at first glance do not have a pronounced national character. When translating, there is often a situation where cultural information, understandable to the native speaker, does not correspond to information contained in the target language. The analysis showed that in the English version of the story, the denotative meaning of the original language units is preserved in most cases. However, the connotative significance of realities is often lost, which damages the reproduction of the national color of the story. During the transfer, a significant part of the stylistic specificity of Gogol disappeared. The title of the cycle “Evenings in Little Russia”, which led to the change of the name of the stories (“An evening in May”, “Mid-summer evening”), removes the accent on the national color of Dikanka made by Gogol. Successful reception of preservation of national color can be considered transcription of realities and transfer of its content as a descriptive expression. In some parts of the text, in particular where appropriate equivalents are used, interpreters manage to convey the national flavor of the story, but in most cases the national color is lost.

Keywords: national color, equivalence, non-equivalent lexis, realia, anthroponym

Butakova L.O., Vikulova A.I. TEXTS ABOUT AN ELDERLY PERSON IN THE REGIONAL MEDIA SPACE. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2019. Issue 5 (202). P. 7-15

Introduction. The article offers a genre aspect of the study of regional media texts on the social group of the Russian society nominated “elderly people”. The aim of the study is to identify the lexical, pragmatic, stylistic originality of the texts of regional network media about an elderly person. Material and methods. The analysis methods used: semantic analysis of words and utterances, stylistic analysis of the utterance and text, communicative and pragmatic analysis. Research material: 86 texts posted on the websites of regional news agencies “Omsk Here” (43 texts) and “Super Omsk” (43 texts) in the period from July 11, 2017 to April 8, 2018. The selection of empirical material was carried out according to the criterion of the presence in them of the combination of “elderly person” and the token “pensioner”. The working hypothesis of the study was the assumption that the content of regional online media about an elderly person will be dominated by informational and analytical genres, as well as negative topics. Results and discussion. The results of the study confirmed the working hypothesis. A thematic, stylistic, pragmatic analysis of the texts of regional network media with the subject area “elderly people” revealed genre monotony and diffuseness (dominance of the genre notes with and without an analytical component), combining different genre features (information note, monitoring, interview, review); the shift of genre forms towards information structures; prevalence of official business style; lack of imaginative means of expression; weak individualization of the style (uniformity of the lexical composition; strengthening the negative effect of the effect of the type through the use of strategies of informing and emotionally evaluative type). The study also showed the dominance of the informational genre group, in particular the notes, in which the author’s desire to present an objective, supported by concrete facts view of an elderly person is realized. The genres of a note, a subject interview, a commentary on a regional media discourse about older people are “tied” to topics of health and criminal accidents, for which a syncretic functional style is used, combining the features of official business and journalistic styles. Conclusion. The combination of the two styles allows journalists to be as short, informative and accurate as possible (features of an official business style), but at the same time with a fair amount of emotion, clear and simple (features of a journalistic style) convey information to the general reader about an elderly person.

Azuma T., Morita T., Takeuchi S. NEW STATES OF GAUGE THEORIES ON A CIRCLE. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2012. Issue 13 (128). P. 13-18

We study a one-dimensional large-N U(N) gauge theory on a circle as a toy model of higher dimensional Yang-Mills theories. We nd a new class of saddle point solutions in this theory. These solutions are characterized by the expectation values of the Polyakov loop operators, which wind the circle different times. We nd two evidences that these solutions appear as intermediate states in certain dynamical processes. One is from a numerical calculation and another is from the dual gravity. The similar solutions exist in a wide class of SU(N) and U(N) gauge theories on S1 including QCD and pure Yang-Mills theories in various dimensions if N >= 3.

Khatsimovskiy V.M. ON SOME FEATURE AND APPLICATION OF THE FADDEEV FORMULATION OF GRAVITY. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2012. Issue 13 (128). P. 76-80

In the Faddeev formulation of gravity, the metric is regarded as composite eld, bilinear of d = 10 4-vector fields. A unique feature is that this formulation admits the discontinuous elds. On the discrete level, when spacetime is decomposed into the elementary 4-simplices, this means that the 4-simplices may not coincide on their common faces, that is, be independent. We apply this to the particular problem of quantization of the surface regarded as that composed of virtually independent elementary pieces (2-simplices). We nd the area spectrum being proportional to the Barbero-Immirzi parameter y in the Faddeev gravity and described as a sum of spectra of separate areas. According to the known in the literature approach, we nd that exists ensuring Bekenstein-Hawking relation for the statistical black hole entropy for arbitrary d, in particular, y = 0:39... for genuine d = 10.

It is devoted to the problem of mutual understanding of loving people, their readiness to build relationship in a family and accept a compromise. The motive “learner-teacher” plays an essential role in the logic of the play. This motive is developing during the act of the play and is linking plotlines of different characters. This motive is shown on several levels: verbal, situational and on the level of the system of characters. The author of the article has tried to analyse the semantic spectrum of the motive. In the post-war time the loss of kin relations is filled up with family creation that is with clan creation. It distinguishes the work of E. L. Shvarts from the Soviet literature representing a family as the state. An important psychological, social and ontological role is played in this case by “teachers” who are keepers and propagators of life values. Creative pedagogical activity implies continuous professional development of the teacher. The digital educational environment has ample opportunities for self-development and self-organization of the teacher. In the process of self-development, the teacher actualizes theoretical knowledge and gains new practical experience. This allows him to rationally choose the means for pedagogical actions, effectively, technologically, valeologically carry out pedagogical activities. There is a need to form a teacher’s value orientations for self-development and self-determination. The purpose of the study is to scientifically substantiate the possibility of using the resources of the digital educational environment to develop value orientations for continuous self-development and self-organization among teachers. The methodology and research methods are based on the characterization of pedagogical activity as a creative process, the analysis of the effectiveness of pedagogical activity in the characteristics of activity from the standpoint of a praxeological approach, the use of reflective self-assessment to form the teacher’s value orientations for self-development. The teacher’s value orientations towards continuous self-development and self-organization contribute to the creative self-realization of the teacher and the improvement of the quality and awareness of pedagogical work. Reflective assessment of actions allows the teacher to find deficiencies in the implementation of labor functions and ways to eliminate them. It is concluded that the formation of teacher’s value orientations for self-development and self-organization is an important task of pedagogical education. The theoretical significance of the study is determined by the model of the process of creative solution of a cognitive task by a teacher in a digital educational environment based on a praxeological approach. The practical significance is the range of possibilities of the digital educational environment for the teacher’s selfdevelopment and self-organization.

Bodrova A.S. Mentality Duality of a Man of Traditional Culture of Siberia and the North: Combination of Empirical and Mystical Mythological Aspects. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2002. Issue 4 (32). P. 49-55

In this article the duality of mentality of a man of traditional cultures of Siberia and the North is characterized by a combination of empirical and pre-ioglcal elements of mentality. Empirical element of mentality of a man of traditional culture embodies individual practical experience of formal-logical order. But being indifferent to the objective cause and effect relationships of the phenomena, he reveals particular attentiveness to manifested and hidden mystical links between phenomena, the basis of which is the law of mystical contiguity of cause and effect. As a result of domination of such law a man of traditional society makes his behavior in the culture. This explains the duality of mentality of a man of traditional culture of Siberia and the North, whose empirical intuition is subjected to the «supreme collective notions*.
