| 5403 | Figurative usage of words varies from culture to culture and reflects the national vision of events. The specific attitude and a special culture of drinking are implemented in metaphors. The article is devoted to metaphorical usage of the Russian verb раздавить – razdavit' and speech verbs (приговорить, уговорить, уболтать – prigovorit', ugovorit', uboltat') in texts available in the National corpus of the Russian language and Internet forums. It shows the analysis of the main cases of their contextual usage and it researches the main morphological, syntactic and collocation characteristics of the given verbs that have some features in common and have some differences. The common integrative meaning of these verbs is “to drink a certain quantity completely”. So the statements with these verbs have, as a rule, words that mean the container (a bottle) and its contents (vodka, cognac, etc.) in the context. The peculiarity of the given metaphorical verbs is that when you transfer the names from the base experience to another, you bring context of the word in its direct use. | 5404 | The article is dedicated to the research of lacunarity of derivational paradigms of adjectives denoting mental characteristics of a human in forming names of persons. Attention is paid to cognitive aspects of derivation. An attempt is being made to determine which parameters of feature semantics are relevant to a native speaker in forming nouns with the meaning ‘a person according to an attribute’. Determination of such semantic components contributes to a research of a linguistic world-image which stipulates the thematic justification of the research. For the accomplishment of the targeted goal the analysis of situations anticipating the selection procedure of adjectival naming units is carried out. Considering the obtained results the author’s classification of adjectives of a lexical semantic group ‘mental characteristics of a human’ is proposed. Compared to semantic roles of verbal actants the semantic roles which may be attributed to the actant being near an adjective are determined. It turns out that the whole array of adjectival lexicon can be divided into three groups depending on presence or absence in semantics of adjectives of a component such as controllability. It is the category of intensional control that appears to be an integral characteristic of semantics of adjectives entering the process of forming names of persons. Absence of an adjective of a semantic component ‘control’ in semantics forbids a formation of adjective-based naming units. | 5406 | Introduction. The revival of religious drama in the modern Russian children and youth literature, that began in the 2000–2010s, is being investigated. The specific genre features of the hagiological plays, which were peculiar to school drama in Russia of the17–18th centuries, are being examined. Material and methods. Hagiological plays for children and youth God is Wonderful in His Saints and White Angel of Moscow, written by R. V. Koshurnikova are used as material for the research. Comparative-historical and comparative-typological methods are used for the study of artwork. Results and discussion. In the 17th century, in the period of the emergence and functioning of such a variety of clerical genres as drama about the saints, the formation of its steady dramatic and epic structure took place. The specifics of hagiographic plots, their narrative, associated with historical and biographical content, including a wide range of chronologically developing events of the saint’s life from birth to death, which are often presented against the background of important historical events of the described epoch, led to the strong association of hagiographic plots with epic genres – hagiography. The hagiographic plot, taken from living narratives, retained its epic genre-forming potential and, when it was falling into a different genre system of drama it washed away the dramatic nature of the plays. In the modern dramas about the saints the genre memory of hagiographic drama formed in the 17th century is preserved. Conclusion. Hagiological plays of the modern children’s writer R. V. Koshurnikova reveal the same specific genre features as in the period of formation and functioning of religious drama in Russian literature of the 17th century. The increase in the volume and role of extra-textual elements (remarks), fragments of an extensive narrative text, designed as monologues of characters expands the epic layer in the dramatic text and leads to the diffusion of the genre nature in the plays of the Siberian writer. Keywords: hagiographic play, genre, chapter, lives of saints for children, R. V. Koshurnikova, school drama | 1810 | |||||
| 5407 | Introduction. The onymic vocabulary in the category of German pseudo-borrowings is currently understudied. While pseudo-borrowings are traditionally considered in the etymological and word-formation aspect, in the practice of analysis of the onymic category and its etymological segments a great role is played by the selection of onomastic subclasses of pseudo-borrowed onyms, the constellation of which is determined by the nature of the empirical material. The appeal to ways and models of word formation is conditioned by the necessity to highlight the structural and systemic features of the studied units and their role in the pseudo-foreign naming by means of the German literary language. The aim of the paper is to identify the ways and models of onym formation in the German pseudo-borrowings class. Material and research methods. The empirical basis for the study is 190 pseudo-borrowed onyms, selected according to the criteria of posteriority, impaired reversibility and belonging to the class nomina propria from a number of German-language print and online editions, including translated comics, onomastic registers and regularly updated dictionaries Duden and DWDS. The dictionary search was carried out mainly with the use of marker words containing the German confix “pseudo-”. The epistemological basis of the analysis is the structural-systems approach, the implementation of which is aimed at revealing the structural features of the studied vocabulary set. A corpus of general and special scientific methods was used to analyze the material. General scientific methods were the methods of logic (analysis, synthesis, comparison, generalization) and statistics (quantitative methods, the method of grouping), private scientific (linguistic) – methods of structural linguistics (method of component analysis and traditional-complex method). Results and discussion. Most of the empirical corpus segments of this study consist of pseudo-Gallicisms of the first and second groups as well as pseudo-Latinisms. Although the Gallicisms of the second group and Pseudo-Latinisms are derived from elements borrowed from dead Gallic and Latin, they continue to be used in German literary speech. A great variety of subclasses are represented by pseudo-Latinisms, among which there are anthroponyms, a large number of ergonyms, pragmatonyms, peisonyms and a class of fictionyms in the subclass of anthroponyms. The names of comic book characters translated into German, represented by the class of fictionyms and the subclass of anthroponyms, are formed using a variety of word-formation models. In addition, one of the fictional character names considered in this paper, in the segment of pseudo-Hispanisms, has the greatest lexical length (11 elements). Thus, it can be assumed that thanks to such a variety of ways to form lexical units the authors and translators of comics manage to convey the expression and, to a certain extent, the distinctive features of certain characters. The word-formation possibilities of pseudo-usage onyms in German depend on which segments and sub-classes form the empirical corpus. Conclusion. The proposed material is intended to expand the understanding of the nature of pseudo-borrowings in German literary speech and to deepen the differentiation of onymic and appellative categories of this class of vocabulary. The results can be used for lexicographical and educational purposes, in translation practice and in the teaching of modern German. | 5408 | Technological development not only unites people all over the world, but also opens the way in the educational field. As an assistive tool, social networks provide natural communication and exchange of information, provide teachers and students with educational resources, services for developing materials and organizing training, as well as creating an educational environment in the form of virtual communities for interaction, where teachers and students actively participate in the learning process, where teachers simultaneously act as consultants and participants in communication. The purpose of the study is to study the perceptions and attitudes of undergraduate students at Vietnamese universities towards developing Russian speaking and writing skills through social networks outside the classroom. The scientific novelty of the study lies in considering the ability to use social networks as an auxiliary tool for learning the Russian language in Vietnam. The theoretical basis was provided by scientific and pedagogical works on the research problem. The following methods are used in the research process: analysis, synthesis, systematization, case study, questioning. The results of the study showed positive views of Vietnamese students on the development of Russian speaking and writing skills through social networks outside the classroom. It was also noted that it is necessary to change the consciousness and attitude of teachers towards the use of social networking platforms as aids in teaching Russian speaking and writing skills. In addition, effective use of social networks in teaching other Russian language skills is expected. On the other hand, in a virtual environment, students can observe the reality of language use in everyday life, which is impossible for language learners in a non-linguistic environment. The conclusions drawn can serve as the basis for revealing the possibilities of creating interactive exercises and introducing them into the development of Russian speaking and writing skills through social networks in Vietnam. Future research may include studying the functions of social networks and their use in creating a system of exercises for developing Russian language skills; conducting an in-depth interview to assess the achievements of speech skills using various types of exercises on social networks. | 5420 | The author considers the method of concept analysis as a research tool in literary studies, which could be also used in literary translation. The article states that the concept “dreary” has a dominating role in A. P. Chekhov’s narrative “A Dreary Story”. This concept represents semantic monotony and estrangement, which gradually reveals its existential potential. Therefore a philosophical subtext is logically found in the narrative, but its preservation in a translation is a great challenge for a translator. The author analyses one French version of Chekhov’s narrative. It was written in 1926 by a sociologist, writer, translator, music and literary critic, Boris de Shloezer. He oriented himself to one interpretation of this narrative which was done by a philosopher-existentialist, Lev Shestov. It allowed the translator to communicate a general philosophical idea, an existential tragic element of “A Dreary Story”. Nevertheless he did not pay enough attention to the text structure with its pervaded motives, which are organized by the title concept dreary. As a consequence Shloezer did not succeed in making an adequate French translation of “A Dreary Story”. | 5438 | Introduction. The research is carried out within the framework of the theory of functional grammar and is aimed at studying semantic features of concessive relations and specialized means of their expression in Russian. The formal and substantial variability of concessionary constructions is noted, and an assumption of stylistic heterogeneity of language units expressing the semantics of concession is suggested. Material and methods. In spite of the research of concessionality, including its representation as a constituent part of the conditionality field, the semantics of concession and its expressive means have not been previously examined from the aspect of functional and stylistic usage. The formal, semantic and stylistic variation of concessionary units, conditioned by communicative settings and linguistic features of scientific style, are studied. The texts of the nuclear genre of scientific discourse – 3708 scientific articles of different thematic orientation, published in ranked Russian journals – were used as the material. Results and discussion. Scientific works devoted to the linguistic expression of concessive relations in Russian demonstrate the complexity and heterogeneity of this type of semantics and different ways of its expression. The analysis of concessive constructions in scientific articles on philology, history, biology, engineering and information science and economics shows that complex sentences with the conjunctions despite/disregarding that, but, however, although, as well as simple sentences with the prepositions despite/disregarding, despite, regardless of, etc., can be considered as special means of expressing these meanings in scientific language. On the basis of the quantitative data obtained, the article presents the percentage ratio of concessionary units in scientific articles on different topics and reveals the productive means of expressing the concession for each topic. From the point of view of the concession field, the most typical particular meanings of the concession (concessive-predicative, concessive-restrictive and real-concessive) and the absence of other meanings realized in other styles of the Russian language (concessive-predicative, concessive-retributive and reinforced-concessive meanings) were revealed. Conclusion. As a result of the study the average indicator of concessionary relations in the articles on different topics of scientific style was established, the substantive, formal and stylistic variation of concessionary units was noted, the correlation between the thematic focus of the articles under consideration and certain means of expressing concession was revealed, which requires further study. | 5439 | The article is devoted to the description of the speech genre (hereinafter referred to as the SG) of Internet revelation and the identification of its main genre-forming features and features of the language embodiment. The novelty of the study is determined by the fact that for the first time the texts functioning in Internet communication and containing anonymous expressions of their revelations, secrets and emotions are subjected to a systematic description. The relevance of the work is due to the growing popularity of such resources and the lack of representation of linguistic works on their study. The study of the SG of Internet revelation was carried out on the material of texts published on the website “Overheard”, as well as “Overheard from teachers” in the social network “VKontakte”. The work is done in line with communicative linguistics. When analyzing the material, the methods of linguistic description, discursive analysis were used, including the characteristics of extralinguistic factors and reflecting the functioning of the studied SG in the Internet. Pragmatic, media, structural-semantic and stylisticlinguistic parameters are considered in the description of SG Internet-revelation. The categorical features of the Internet Revelation SG are: anonymity, first-person narration, virtual space of communication, focus on a large audience, mediocrity and asynchrony of communication. The texts perform an informational function and are characterized by thematic diversity. The communicative goal of the studied genre is to receive or present information containing the author’s revelation anonymously in front of a huge audience. The means of linguistic embodiment are described, related to phonetic (onomatopoeic literal combination for expressing emotions), graphic (repetition of letters and punctuation marks, use of capital letters and dots, adding emoticons), lexical (colloquial, reduced, colloquial, evaluative vocabulary; figurative words and expressions ) and grammatical level (past tense verbs; adverbs of measure and degree; exclamatory and interrogative sentences, etc.), stylistic features of the texts (first-person narration; colloquial and written style that has the characteristics of Internet discourse, narrative and autobiography) are revealed. It has been proven that Internet revelation is a unique genre formation that has a certain composition, its own style, and a special linguistic embodiment. The proposed methodology for analyzing the speech language of Internet revelation can be used to describe other informative speech genres of Internet communication.
