| 2154 | Introduction. The article deals with the problem of modern English punctuation in a written communication of American mass media (The New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle). The paper is focused on the rules of putting comma as a sign, the functions of which are very contradictory and diverse, since in the same syntactic contexts it can be either allowed or avoided. The analysis of the comma functioning rules is explained by the fact that this sign often replaces all other punctuation marks in modern written communication. The aim of the work is to identify and explain the principles of comma functioning in modern communication (based on the material of American English) in order to facilitate the understanding of the laws of punctuation in the English language. Material and methods. The main research methods are the method of linguistic description, syntactic analysis, interpretative method, the method of stylistic description. Results and discussion. In the undertaken analysis, we claim that in American written communication, comma performs the following set of functions: dividing or separating syntactic units within a syntactic structure, highlighting the meaning, enhancing an expressiveness and semantic significance of a syntactic element, using the sign as an individualised stylistic means of expressiveness in the text. The scientific novelty of this work is systematization and scientific classification of functions typical of a comma from the point of view of the English grammar laws and their stylistic variation, which practically were not covered in other studies on the grammar of English. Conclusion. The proposed list of functions performed by comma in a modern American discourse allows us to offer students studying English a relatively complete overview of the possible meanings characteristic of this sign, and thus, remove some difficulties in understanding and mastering the syntactic theory of English. The purpose of the article is to discover and describe the latest professional borrowings related to the field of innovative construction technologies and introduced into Russian in the 21st century. The objectives of the paper are the material selection, the definition of the sources and time of borrowings being analyzed, and creating the classification of foreign terminological units. Material and methods. The material for the study is the latest borrowings in the sphere of construction engineering appeared in the Russian language in the 21st century and used in the professional discourse (web-sites for construction professionals). The basis of the methodology lies in the descriptive and comparative methods. Results and discussion. The article contains a short theoretical overview of borrowings in Russian. The study shows that most of the terminological units denoting advanced construction technologies are borrowed from other languages with the technology itself. The major part of the given terminological units is borrowed from English and represents loanwords, calques and partial calques. Moreover, with the purpose of stating the time of borrowings all terminological units were searched for in the National Corpus of the Russian Language. It appeared that the majority of terms are not recorded either in the National Corpus of the Russian Language or in terminological dictionaries. Conclusion. Modern construction vocabulary of the 21st century is represented mostly by anglicisms among which there are lexical and semantic borrowings (calques and partial calques). The article has analyzed terminological units not previously recorded in either terminological dictionaries or National Corpus of the Russian Language. The practical value enables to use the article materials for academic and lexicographical purposes. | 2157 | Introduction. Klava Koka is one of the most popular performers on the modern Russian musical stage, and therefore it is of interest to analyze the motivational content of her work. We have established the key role of the motive of toxicity and abuse in Klava Koka’s songs. It manifests itself in the peculiarities of the interpersonal relations of the characters of the songs, as well as in their values and attitudes. Toxicity refers to the ability of a person or relationship to provoke emotional pain and the complete depletion of the resources of the partner of interaction. Abusive relationships in a broad sense are characterized by the controlling, coercive, threatening, humiliating and violent behavior of one of the partners. Although the perception of love as pain and suffering is a recurrent idea of Western pop music, in Klava Koka’s songs, this attitude to love acquires signs of toxicity and, in some cases, abusiveness. Aim and objectives. The aim of the article is to prove the dominant role of the motive of toxicity and abuse in Klava Koka’s songs. Material and methods. We have analyzed 26 songs written by Klava Koka herself or in co-authorship with the lyricists of the Black Star label. The main research methods are the method of holistic analysis of a work, as well as conceptual analysis. Results and discussion. The motive of toxicity and abuse in Klava Koka’s songs is manifested in the following features of the characters’ relationships and their values: metaphorization of love as pain and suffering, antagonism between partners in relationships, dominance / submission as a pattern of relationships, violence as an important component of relationships, dependence from a partner or from a relationship, intensification of love feelings by one of the partners. The fact that in all the songs that we have considered, the listed features are presented to certain degree, enables us to speak about the dominant role of the motive of toxicity and abuse in Klava Koka’s work. Conclusion. Toxicity and abuse tend to be romanticized in the singer’s lyrics, being presents as an integral part of “genuine” relationships and a manifestation of “true” love. The motive of toxicity and abuse is functioning as the main means of realization of the concepts of “love” and “pain” in Klava Koka’s songs, where the both concepts are linked into a single conceptual pair. | 2168 | Introduction. The study of the costume code of linguistic cultural type is presented. The relevance of this work is due to the lack of basic research studying the costume code in linguistic culture. The novelty of the study lies in the fact that for the first time the vocabulary of the dialects of the Middle Ob region is considered as the result of objectification of the costume code of cultural in type. The purpose of the analysis of language material is to determine the essence and identify the specifics of the functioning of the costume code in dialect linguistic culture. The following tasks were set: to determine the circle of tokens through which the costume code is verbalized; carry out their classification; define the costume code functions that are represented in these language units. Material and methods. The research material was the dialectic speech of the inhabitants of the Middle Ob region recorded in the Tomsk dialect dictionaries and in the dialect base of the Laboratory for General and Siberian Lexicography of Tomsk State University. In the course of the work, more than a thousand lexical units were identified, objectifying the sphere of traditional Russian clothing. In the course of the work, descriptive, differentiated, distributive methods were used, as well as a semantic analysis of linguistic units, their linguocultural description. The use of the above methods of analysis and processing of the material made it possible to fix the special cultural meanings of the costume code objectified in the dialect language. Conclusion. The vocabulary of the dialects of the Middle Ob, objectifying the costume code, is considered as a set of culturally significant units, in the semantics of which there is a cultural connotation. | 2169 | Introduction. In order to increase the effectiveness of the educational process, learning should be deliberate. The introduction of the model of tutor support into the educational process will solve the problem: to teach to learn. The learner becomes independent, with the correct attitude in life and the skill of self-organization. The tutor plays the role of a consultant, teacher, psychologist, coordinator. Aim and objectives. To substantiate the effectiveness of using the model of tutor support for students in the educational process of the secondary vocational education system. Material and methods. The article uses the data of the selective federal statistical observation of the employment of graduates who have received secondary vocational and higher education. A survey of students, graduating groups of the institution of secondary vocational education. Theoretical research methods were used; empirical methods: analysis and conversation. Results and discussion. The modern world is an environment of global instability and dynamic changes in all spheres. Therefore, potential employers highly value not only the professional qualities of their employees, but also social and psychological qualities (Softskills): communication, leadership, team, entrepreneurial skills. Employers note the lack of Softskills competencies among graduates of educational institutions: weak motivation and inconsistency of personal qualities (self-organization, motivation, initiative, responsibility, desire to learn) Among the most significant characteristics, graduates of the secondary vocational education system named: motivation; experience; general impression; professional competencies; ability to learn; IT-competence. According to the results of introspection, they also tended to give a low assessment of their level of development. And they expressed an opinion about the need to pay more attention to the development of personal competencies in the learning process; skills that will allow them to be competitive in the labor market, such as communication skills, personality marketing, time management, etc. In order to solve the basic problem of secondary vocational education: the intellectual, cultural and professional development of a person and the training of qualified workers or employees and mid-level specialists in all main areas of socially useful activity in accordance with the needs of society and the state, as well as meeting the needs of the individual in deepening and expanding education. The feasibility of introducing tutor support into the educational process is considered. The tutor plays the role of a consultant, teacher, psychologist, coordinator. On the basis of individual educational routes, the tutor achieves the formation of a harmonious, socially responsible personality of the student, focused on self-development and self-realization. In the model of tutor support, training is built taking into account the individual characteristics of each student, which allows him to maximize his potential. Conclusion. The model of tutor support should be considered one of the most promising. First, a tutor is a psychologist who helps a student to understand his inner problems, motives, desires, abilities; understand resources and limitations. Achieve a balance of desires and possibilities. Secondly, a tutor as a teacher teaches (forms the ability) independence: to set goals and objectives; identify opportunities and resources; develops the ability to act and the willingness to take responsibility for the decisions made. The third most important component: a tutor is an educator who builds the correct attitude to the world around him and himself; preservation of national identity, respect for the native language, culture and patriotism. The fourth vector of a tutor’s work is career guidance work. The development and movement along an individual learning path requires the tutor to be competent in the field of professional training of his ward. | 2186 | Every modern person is a part of the media communication in which a specific discursive ideology is formed. This type of ideology largely determines the worldview of contemporary members of discourse, and also forces prepared scenarios and behavioral patterns on the participants of communication. This ideological mindset has the influence on everyday life of members of discourse. The object of analysis of this research is discourse of radio. Studying the ways new discursive ideology is formed will allow us to reveal cognitive world models, which are reproduced in the discourse and to define the role of a discourse personality in creating the form and the content of the discourse of radio. The process of formation of new discursive ideology is reflected in the system if contemporary interactive genres. Discourse allows us to use a variety of factors while analyzing the ideology: mental, psychological, pragmatic, gender-based and others. Ideology is a result of the positioning of the subject in the discourse of radio and is revealed in the language organization of its existence, which requires a complex approach comprising all the aspects of the stated problem. Such methodology allows us to reveal the principles of discursive ideology formation and the models of speech behavior of the discourse personality; to determine the structural and functional peculiarities of new speech genres of the media-discourse and internal and external mechanisms of formation of the discursive worldview in the communicative space of the discourse of radio. | 2187 | The paper considers interjections in the framework of the theory of speech acts. Different approaches of foreign linguists to the description of the illoсutionary purpose in interjection’s utterances are analyzed. The ideas of Anna Wierzbicka about the absence of illocutionary purpose in this type of utterances as consequence of their spontaneity was criticized by D. Wilkins and T. Wharton. These researchers adduce arguments in favor of illocution’s presence in interjections and argue that the extent of illocution varies from interjection to interjection, depending on the degree of it’s linguistics or paralinguistics. On the basis of discursive analyses data I argue that above-mentioned regularity contradicts the obvious language facts. The first fact is that the same interjection can be used in various types of speech acts, and another one is that the subclass of volitive interjections has an evident illocutionary purpose in spite of its strong extent of paralinguistics. In this paper I propose new solution to the interpretation of interjections within the speech acts theory, which is based on the understanding that non-controversial description of interjections can be achieved on the base of recognition of their interactional character. An interactional character is understood in this case as subject-subject or object-subject forms of speech behavior which take place at the moment of interjections uttering. Such approach allows to overcome the restrictions of numeral interpretative theories which are relevant only for prototypical emotive interjections. The understanding of interactional nature of interjections speech acts allows us to elaborate the theory that can be used as theoretical basis for all subclasses of interjections. Under this approach all types of interjections could be qualified as behabitives that had been characterized by J. Searle as reactions to behavior of other people. Within the offered classification there is a need of a reinterpretation of the term “behabitives”. This category has to be expanded from traditional etiquette speech acts to all types of utterances containing emotive and volitive interjections. Keywords: interjections, speech acts theory, illocutionary purpose, expressive speech acts, behabitives, emotive interjections | 2016 | |||||
| 2188 | The present article dwells on the possibilities of the extension of the precedent phenomena vocabulary by means of the use of word formation resources. The article presents four ways of word formation on the base of precedent names: deonymic stem composition, deonymic conversion, deonymic overlapping and deonymic derivation. A particular attention is paid to the phenomenon of deonymic derivation – a way of formation of the appellatives on the base of precedent names by means of affixation. The result of deonymic derivation is a formation of new lexical items, which possess the precedent status. Among them several word classes can be distinguished specifically nouns, adjectives and verbs. Each of these classes retains the set of qualities and peculiarities rooted in precedent names. Typical suffixes used in the formation of new nouns are e.g. (er)ei, isierung and ung. In the sphere of adjectives following suffixes can be used: ig, isch, weise. New verbs can be formed with the suffixes en, eln, (is)ieren and so on. Deonymic derivation is a very creative word formation method. The new precedent deonymic constructs are as a rule resources of the expressive language and therefore they are often used in media discourse and in the speech of politicians. They keep the shades of meaning and semes rooted in the original precedent names and subsequently form a new group of precedent phenomena. | 2189 | Introduction. During the last years of the last century the conceptual sphere “the world of plants” got the attention of linguists. In many of their works, linguists analyse phytometaphor in comparison between two languages. The purpose of this article is to describe the semantic-pragmatical use of phytometaphor in Shalamov’s work The Kolyma Tales and the possibility if its translation in the Italian language. Material and methods. By examining the Italian word “piantone” (orderly) this article focuses on the particular case in which there is not a phytometaphor in the original text but it is present in the translated text. The study proceeds with the analysis of the main characteristics of the figurative sense of this word in both languages and the translators’ motivation in the use of it. Results and discussion. One important feature of Shalamov’s prose is the use of anthropomorphic details in the description of nature. After analyzing the first cycle of stories, we can divide the author’s used phytometaphors into four categories: 1) plant products used as a kind of currency; 2) the external characteristics of a person; 3) likening plants to animals; 4) the internal characteristics of a person. It is important to underline, that in other cases phytometaphor is not used in the original text but it is used in the translated text. After the linguistic analysis of the material (Russian, Italian and French dictionaries and corpora) it is possible to say that the word “piantone” with the meaning of soldier is not an Italian national and specific word but is a calc from French. Conclusion. According to the detailed analysis of the dictionaries and considering the peculiarities of V. Shalamov’s artistic style, the author concludes that the use of this phytometaphor is in line with the general trend of the use of metaphorical vocabulary by V. Shalamov in The Kolyma Tales. | 2197 | A dark Friedman-Robertson-Walker fluid governed by a non-linear ingomogeneous equation of state (EoS) is considered that it can be viewed as a conveniently simple paradigm for the whole class of models that exhibit phase transitions from a non-phantom towards a phantom era. On the other hand, such dark fluid models may also describe quintessence-like cosmic acceleration. Adding a cosmological constant-like term to the EoS led us to the conclusion that at some t = t1 a future singularity forms, in the sense that the energy density and the Hubble parameter simultaneously approach infinity at this value.
