| 5751 | This paper is devoted to the history of the Ivankins' yurts, that were the center of the Selkup concentration and the keepers of the native Sheshkup dialect in XIX–XX centuries. The summary information obtained as a result of the analysis of the available ethnographic materials in this area allows restoring their earlier location in more detail, summarizing the data on important areas of the region and its vicinity. Therefore, the purpose of classes in history of physical culture with future teachers in the organizations of higher education and colleges is not only acquisition of knowledge, but also training in technique of teaching historical aspects, formation of interest in a profession. The article presents the results of the analysis of educational programs on physical culture for students of general education schools regarding existence of aspects of history of physical culture in them. The questions of the Olympic movement, the role of Pierre de Coubertin in its development and education, the origin of physical exercises and games are presented in programs for schoolchildren. There are no relevant issues in the programs on the history of the Paralympic Movement, the Deaflympic Movement, Special Olympics. Authors have determined possibilities of history of physical culture in formation of professional competences of future teachers of physical culture. Lessons of history of physical culture promote formation of important professional competences of future teachers and train them for organization of pedagogical, design, cultural and educational activity. The authors have defined the attitude of future teachers to the “History of Physical Culture” and the most expedient methodical receptions for use in classrooms. Most future teachers consider the history of physical culture an important topic, but they do not understand the practical significance of the subject. Among the most appropriate methods of teaching, students give priority to active methods. The authors have proved that students need special preparation for the use of methods of training in the professional activity. | 5768 | The article is devoted to studying of personal names of Tomsk Tatars of the first quarter of the XVIII century. The research objective is a complex description of functioning of the anthroponimics of Tomsk Tatars of the XVIII centuries in historical and linguistic aspect. In this research the general methods of linguistic research are used: descriptive, contrastive- comparative, structural, techniques of the system and functional analysis. On the basis of these archival materials the features of antroponimic system of Tomsk Tatars are considered, comparison with the systems of other people that allow to allocate their ethnocultural ties during the studied period is carried out. It is revealed that in the names of Tomsk Tatars are widely used the names charms formed from verbal components. On the materials the close interrelation of personal names of Tomsk Tatars with Turkic appellative lexicon is revealed. | 5769 | The author studies the issue of complex word generation based on an integrative speech-thinking model of word production. The model reveals processes of words production on onomasiological, cognitive and word-forming level. The paper presents the results of studying complex words on the material of Novosibirsk city ergonyms with attributive semantics. Ergonyms, being the most actively enriched category of onyms for the recent decades, reflect general trends occurring in the language: use of different structure components in the composition of a complex word; various possibilities of language game: lexical, stylistic and graphic features of neologisms formation. The most significant trend of modern word derivation is agglutinative or analytical nature of compounding process. Special analytical components of a compound word are clipped stems, root affixes, nouns, adjectives, numerals, graphical signs or abbreviations; which can be grouped in different sequences in the compound word. The position of the component expressing the attributive semantics can be initial or final, with the predominance of the initial, that expresses the semantic model “defining component-determined component”. The integrative speech-thinking model of word-production as the basic research method of word production assumes the description of representation structures of different types of knowledge at several levels (onomasiological, cognitive, nominative and derivation) and the choice of corresponding speech forms. When generating a new word the choice of the most essential information occurs at the stage of signifying the predicative form and is realized in the equivalent conventional or non-conventional models of word-production. | 5783 | The article presents one of the marginal genres of engineering discourse, the Missing Manual, in the aspect of its metaphorical organization. The results of the analysis have shown that a set of metaphors can be identified in the Missing Manual, namely: the anthropomorphic metaphors that are connected with the anthropocentric paradigm; time and space metaphors that are identified on the basis of semantic features as the humans and everything that surrounds them cannot exist outside of temporal and spatial coordinates; conceptual metaphors that are considered as theoretical constructs that differ in degree of abstraction. The special attention in the article is devoted to the anthropomorphic metaphors which represent various devices as possessing physical and mental abilities, personal attributes, parts of the body, etc. By the example of the Missing Manual it has been demonstrated that the necessity and importance of metaphors in the given text-type depend on two factors: pragmatic goal and functional stylistic status of the Missing Manual. The authors conclude that metaphors in the discussed genre perform two core functions, i.e. the function of gaining consumers’ affection and the function of exerting control over the formation of consumers’ notion of some devices which can have an impact on their decision-making. The article is focused on the structure of multicomponent terminological combinations and major functions they perform in modern English-language media discourse on environmental issues. It investigates how the term structure may change in the course of time, determines the main trends in the structural development of terms typical of media ecological discourse and discloses their functional potential. The aim of the study is to identify the main structural types and functional characteristics of multicomponent terms, recorded in the English texts created by popular science environmental journalists. The object of the study are multicomponent terminological combinations of English-language media environmental discourse. Material and methods. The research has been performed using the texts published from 2021 until 2022 on the site of the English-language online journal Earth Island Journal which is the media arm of Earth Island Institute – an organization that supports environmental activists and leaders working to protect the biological and cultural diversity. The sample number equals 212 multicomponent terminological combinations. A variety of methods such as observation, modeling, systematization, quantitative estimation, structural and functional analysis have been used to conduct complete research of the terms under consideration. Results and discussion. The results show that multicomponent terms are an important component of modern English-language media discourse. The analysis of the research data obtained has allowed identifying the main structural models and key characteristics of multicomponent terms used in media ecological discourse and specifying the major functions they perform. Conclusion. In conclusion, the practical value of the obtained results and the future prospects of the research have been outlined. It describes the findings obtained by monitoring medical students’ satisfaction with Latin teaching. The findings indicate that most students (77.3 % – 2014, 86 % – 2015) have an average level of satisfaction, which is not sufficient for university students. The Latin teaching, therefore, needs to be improved. | 5798 | The problem of high-quality education for engineering and IT students should be regularly reviewed and kept up-to-date in conditions of the current political and socio-economic situation. To meet the demands of the labor market, engineering and IT students should possess not only subject-specific competencies but also universal (non-subject) competencies that make it easier to navigate different life situations, to communicate effectively, to work in a team, to think critically, etc. Therefore, it becomes important to introduce practice-focused learning technologies and methods into the educational process in order to develop universal competencies. The purpose of the article is to summarize the pedagogical experience in integrating the situational problem solving method (case method) into the educational process and to identify its advantages and limitations. The study is based on the empirical experience of application of the situational problem solving method (case method) in the educational process at the Faculty of Innovative Technologies of Tomsk State University within the subject “Professional Communication in English”. In the paper, the authors rely on the principles of system-activity and competency-based approaches. The experimental use of the situational problem solving method (case method) in the process of teaching English for professional purposes proved not only the great interest of students in this type of creative work, but also the importance of using this method in the educational process. This method contributes to the development of students’ critical thinking, their ability to apply knowledge in new situations, and the development of students’ creativity and intellectual abilities. Presenting the results of solving cases in a foreign language is an important tool for the formation of communicative competence necessary for students in their future professional activities. However, the situational problem solving method has a number of limitations related mainly to the procedural issues of its application in the educational process. The authors conclude that the integration of the situational problem solving method into the educational process contributes to the development of universal competencies of engineering and IT students and can be applied as a type of pedagogical practice within the subjects of the existing educational programs without introduction of extra special courses for the development of such competencies.
