| 4065 | Social and domestic background of the short novel “Stroybat” (Construction Battalion) today is archaic, but the problems of betrayal, the preservation of culture in a hostile environment, youthful irresponsibility remain up to date. The story representing retelling of events on behalf of the character, is richly intoned and intonation gives topical character to its main subjects. Sergey Kaledin builds his story at the intersection of many voice streams: through the detached comment of an “alien” character, combination of exalted and everyday speech, alien words, chronotop “cutins”, playing with the rhythm and text density. The art world of the story is actively sated with the cultural and paracultural signs which today have become part of “the Soviet myth”. In reader's perception they also don't contribute to dokumentalizm of “Stroybat”, and on the contrary, promote his perception as parables about the good and evil. The system of the speech creates a feeling of convention of terrible details of stroybat as a social phenomenon and allows the reader to focus on the inner life of the character. | 4082 | This article is considered as a form of interaction in media communication. Participation of subjects in religious discourse is the basis for the formation of dialogic communication. There are discourse’s mechanisms for the formation of dialogue interaction between communicants: it is value and psycho-speech coordination of participants in communication. Representatives of religious discourse (clergymen and interactive addressees) are subjects of dialogue. Also they are participants in the mass media discourse. Interaction by the subject of communication is occurred in the communicative space (this is the genres of the forum and blog). | 4083 | The article considers the way linguistic and cultural knowledge is used in translation and justifies the need to view a translator as a professional native and foreign language user. Similarly, it is important to recognize the specific character of translator’s language knowledge because, firstly, it is a tool in a professional cross-cultural mediation in translation; secondly, it provides the basis for the acquisition, development and functioning of translation skills. An attempt is made to identify the characteristics of translator’s linguacultural knowledge relevant to the process of code-switching, which should be viewed as the switching of linguacultural codes in order to reflect the interlingual and cross-cultural aspects of translation. Based on the analysis of the mental processes and mechanisms of linguacultural switching the following characteristics of translator’s lingualcultural knowledge have been proposed. Chunk-based language knowledge is represented by communicative chunks and communicative contours and is able to improve access, activation and retrieval of linguistic knowledge, error control, the functioning of radiant thinking and spreading activation. Frame-based knowledge of a foreign language creates the framework for probabilistic forecasting, facilitates direct access to conceptual representations in a foreign language, raises its activation level and reduces its dependence on the native language, as well as improving integration of linguistic and conceptual information into semantic memory. Systemic language knowledge means knowing a language as a system of dependencies and connections and ensures distinctness, flexibility and mobility of language knowledge. Language awareness involves the ability to pay attention to language forms, reflect on language, patterns and specific character of its functioning. Such awareness develops the skill of separating two languages and cultures, improves language and error control and prevents linguistic interference. Functional parallelism reflects the type of relationship between two language systems and is made up of systemic, communicative and operational aspects. The last characteristic involves the awareness of the linguistic factors causing breakdowns in code-switching in translation, as well as the ability to predict and deal with such problems. Collectively, the above-mentioned characteristics form the readiness and ability of a translator to code-switch. The development of these characteristics should be made part of professionally oriented foreign language teaching to trainee translators. | 4084 | Introduction. The problem of professional choice in a situation of uncertainty raises the importance of scientific understanding and finding practical solutions to support school graduates in the process of professional self-determination. This is particularly an issue for rural school graduates. The problem was addressed in domestic and foreign Pedagogy and Psychology at different times in history. The attitude towards the problem of professional choice is changing. Whereas it was more often considered in the context of professional self-determination, it is now the subject of independent research. The purpose of the article is to reveal the features of the professional choice by rural school students in the changing ideas about the essence of professional choice as a psychological and pedagogical problem. Material and methods. The empirical base of the study is represented by 15–18 years old school students and the middle-aged population of rural settlements in the north and south of the Tyumen region. The survey was attended by 200 people. The content of the questions is aimed at evaluation of the confidence and validity of the professional choice and general awareness in various aspects of the attractiveness of traditional and modern occupations. Basic methods: analysis, synthesis, generalization, questioning. Results and discussion. The authors examine professional choices in different contexts. The first context reflects the needs of society and the state in the professional development of an individual in a knowledge economy. The second context shows the need for a theoretical and methodological justification of the development of the content and scope of the concept of “professional choice”, its factors and mechanisms. The third context characterizes the peculiarities and problems of choosing a profession by rural school students. Conclusion. The results showed that, in general, there is a lack of maturity among school students in choosing a profession and understanding its importance in life values realization. The position of the parents is aimed at supporting children in their independent choice. The professional choice depends on the regional specificities, demand for occupations in a given territory, personal preferences, and the occupational prestige. This work is supported by the Science Leadership School of the Competence development center of the worldclass West Siberian Scientific and educational Center. The research was funded by RFBR and Tyumen Region, project number 413-720011 “Development of a model of professional orientation, self-determination and self-realization of the population of the Tyumen region in the context of the transformation of the socio-economic space”, contract No. 20-413-720011. | 4085 | Introduction. Civilizational challenges to a person determine the need to actualize the humanistic paradigm in education. An example of the search for ways of humanization is the direction of social-emotional-ethical training, developed at Emory University in the USA, which is based on the idea of holistic human development by means of education. Within the framework of the grant of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research “Direction of socio-emotional and ethical education”, the aim was set to identify the features of Russian education in the implementation of this humanistic idea. Material and methods. The analysis is based on the concept of “anthropological tradition” as a systematic characteristic of the ideas about the integral education of a person, which gives an idea of the pedagogical experience, its preservation and further development, starting from the fundamental works of K. D. Ushinsky and up to the present day: at the stages of Russian, Soviet and Russian schools. Results and discussion. The article provides a genetic analysis of the idea of the emotional development of a child in education in relation to the social component. Two aspects of its development are highlighted: emotional-social (psychophysiological) and socio-emotional (socio-cultural). The features of the development of the emotional and social line in the works of scientists of the Russian school are considered and the continuity with the stage of the Soviet school in psychological works is revealed. The genetic analysis of the development of the socio-cultural line revealed two main directions in the interaction of social and emotional components: artistic and aesthetic and social inheritance of the cultural tradition of Russia. The study of the emotional-social direction shows the continuity of the anthropological tradition: from the provisions of K. D. Ushinsky on the need to use the power of human emotions in his education along with the intellectual sphere – to the research of the emotional sphere carried out within the framework of pedology – and further to psychological research on the importance of human interests and needs in his upbringing. In the socio-emotional direction, the continuity of emotional saturation of socialization of children and adolescents in artistic and aesthetic creativity is revealed: from the experience of the beginning of the last century in organizing the life of children’s communities to the modern practice of additional education of children. The spiritual orientation of the social inheritance of cultural values of society is also highlighted. The conclusion is made about the need for further development of the experience of combining emotional and social components in modern conditions that require overcoming the risks associated with the growing human crisis and the social transformation of childhood. Keywords: humanistic function of education, socio-emotional component, pedagogical anthropology, anthropological tradition, emotional development of a child in education, art as a means of socialization, social inheritance | 1910 | |||||
| 4086 | Introduction. The focus of this paper is the observation and comparison of several symbolic connotations of British and Slavic basic color terms. Aim and objectives. The paper’s aim is to discuss cultural and linguistic commonalities and peculiarities of a few color terms and prepare educational resource for different disciplines, such as English, Russian as a foreign language, ethnolinguistic and linguacultural studies. Material and methods. This paper observes British and Slavic idioms with the component ‘color’ in its connotative meaning. A cross-disciplinary approach helps identify the essential place of color terms in interpreting linguistic picture of the world and emphasizes the integrative role of culture. We consolidate with ideas of L. Bloomfield and J. Lyons concerning connotative meaning in linguistic semantics. Results and discussion. Connotative meanings of color terms often become cultural symbols and serve as signs of some abstract concepts. Since color perceptions relate to the sensory sphere, they are easily transferred to the characteristics of emotions, dignity of character, behavior, appearance. Interpretation of color terms in their connotative meanings will provide insight into the national mentality. Connotative meanings reflect individualized situations based on national cultural values and norms of social life. In provided examples the basic meaning of a color term is becomingusually narrower. Conclusion. The comparative analysis of connotations of five color terms leads to following conclusions: 1) color is able to evoke certain emotions traced in languages in the form of idioms containing a color component; 2) differences in the semantic structure of color connotations in English and Russian are due to national and cultural peculiarities; 3) etymology of color terms and historical facts sometimes make it possible to establish the dependence of a symbol on practice; 4) the main (perhaps the most universal) source of color terms are natural objects with a characteristic color. | 4099 | The subject of this paper is the problem of the author’s dramatic plot. It is the designation of the appraisal and from – without – vision peculiarities of the story depicted by the author. These peculiarities tell the playwright both from the other authors interpreting the same plot situation and from the hero having his own comprehension of what is going on from within the dramatic situation. Besides Chekhov’s plot is not just the author’s plot. It is plot of special typology. The main function of heroes in it is not the action but the personality’s understanding of his present, past and future. On these grounds the integral world picture only appears on interaction of the position in vision and appraisal of the story by the characters from the reader’s/spectator’s position. As a result, the world model expressing the individual peculiarities of the author’s life conception is recreated on the territory of the reader’s consciousness. The playwrights of the 70th–early 80th of the 20th century typologically created the plots similar to Chekhov’s ones. But it is important that the authors used his elements as well – the situations keeping the author’s vision, heroes, with the help of which Chekhov’s world model appeared in his time. It allows us to speak about the working – out of Chekhov’s plot as “someone else’s”. In the final analysis, Chekhov’s plot has some prognostic functions. It sets the direction of the modern history movement, predicts key events. At the same time the unjustified of plot expectations allows the playwrights to designate, first of all, their own life understanding different from Chekhov’s; secondly, the principal lack of coincidence of their time and Chekhov’s time. Only in the situation of recognizing Chekhov’s heroes and situation become “the codes” allowing to decode the modern dramatic story, to reveal the plurality of its meanings, the individuality of the author’s position. In its turn, new meanings of Chekhov’s plot appear in the new author’s and time context.
