| 4106 | Introduction. The problem of professional choice in a situation of uncertainty raises the importance of scientific understanding and finding practical solutions to support school graduates in the process of professional self-determination. This is particularly an issue for rural school graduates. The problem was addressed in domestic and foreign Pedagogy and Psychology at different times in history. The attitude towards the problem of professional choice is changing. Whereas it was more often considered in the context of professional self-determination, it is now the subject of independent research. The purpose of the article is to reveal the features of the professional choice by rural school students in the changing ideas about the essence of professional choice as a psychological and pedagogical problem. Material and methods. The empirical base of the study is represented by 15–18 years old school students and the middle-aged population of rural settlements in the north and south of the Tyumen region. The survey was attended by 200 people. The content of the questions is aimed at evaluation of the confidence and validity of the professional choice and general awareness in various aspects of the attractiveness of traditional and modern occupations. Basic methods: analysis, synthesis, generalization, questioning. Results and discussion. The authors examine professional choices in different contexts. The first context reflects the needs of society and the state in the professional development of an individual in a knowledge economy. The second context shows the need for a theoretical and methodological justification of the development of the content and scope of the concept of “professional choice”, its factors and mechanisms. The third context characterizes the peculiarities and problems of choosing a profession by rural school students. Conclusion. The results showed that, in general, there is a lack of maturity among school students in choosing a profession and understanding its importance in life values realization. | 4117 | Social and domestic background of the short novel “Stroybat” (Construction Battalion) today is archaic, but the problems of betrayal, the preservation of culture in a hostile environment, youthful irresponsibility remain up to date. The story representing retelling of events on behalf of the character, is richly intoned and intonation gives topical character to its main subjects. Sergey Kaledin builds his story at the intersection of many voice streams: through the detached comment of an “alien” character, combination of exalted and everyday speech, alien words, chronotop “cutins”, playing with the rhythm and text density. The art world of the story is actively sated with the cultural and paracultural signs which today have become part of “the Soviet myth”. In reader's perception they also don't contribute to dokumentalizm of “Stroybat”, and on the contrary, promote his perception as parables about the good and evil. | 4131 | The subject of this paper is the problem of the author’s dramatic plot. It is the designation of the appraisal and from – without – vision peculiarities of the story depicted by the author. These peculiarities tell the playwright both from the other authors interpreting the same plot situation and from the hero having his own comprehension of what is going on from within the dramatic situation. Besides Chekhov’s plot is not just the author’s plot. It is plot of special typology. The main function of heroes in it is not the action but the personality’s understanding of his present, past and future. On these grounds the integral world picture only appears on interaction of the position in vision and appraisal of the story by the characters from the reader’s/spectator’s position. As a result, the world model expressing the individual peculiarities of the author’s life conception is recreated on the territory of the reader’s consciousness. The playwrights of the 70th–early 80th of the 20th century typologically created the plots similar to Chekhov’s ones. But it is important that the authors used his elements as well – the situations keeping the author’s vision, heroes, with the help of which Chekhov’s world model appeared in his time. It allows us to speak about the working – out of Chekhov’s plot as “someone else’s”. In the final analysis, Chekhov’s plot has some prognostic functions. It sets the direction of the modern history movement, predicts key events. At the same time the unjustified of plot expectations allows the playwrights to designate, first of all, their own life understanding different from Chekhov’s; secondly, the principal lack of coincidence of their time and Chekhov’s time. Only in the situation of recognizing Chekhov’s heroes and situation become “the codes” allowing to decode the modern dramatic story, to reveal the plurality of its meanings, the individuality of the author’s position. In its turn, new meanings of Chekhov’s plot appear in the new author’s and time context. | 4133 | Introduction. The focus of this paper is the observation and comparison of several symbolic connotations of British and Slavic basic color terms. Aim and objectives. The paper’s aim is to discuss cultural and linguistic commonalities and peculiarities of a few color terms and prepare educational resource for different disciplines, such as English, Russian as a foreign language, ethnolinguistic and linguacultural studies. Material and methods. This paper observes British and Slavic idioms with the component ‘color’ in its connotative meaning. A cross-disciplinary approach helps identify the essential place of color terms in interpreting linguistic picture of the world and emphasizes the integrative role of culture. We consolidate with ideas of L. Bloomfield and J. Lyons concerning connotative meaning in linguistic semantics. Results and discussion. Connotative meanings of color terms often become cultural symbols and serve as signs of some abstract concepts. Since color perceptions relate to the sensory sphere, they are easily transferred to the characteristics of emotions, dignity of character, behavior, appearance. Interpretation of color terms in their connotative meanings will provide insight into the national mentality. Connotative meanings reflect individualized situations based on national cultural values and norms of social life. In provided examples the basic meaning of a color term is becomingusually narrower. Conclusion. The comparative analysis of connotations of five color terms leads to following conclusions: 1) color is able to evoke certain emotions traced in languages in the form of idioms containing a color component; 2) differences in the semantic structure of color connotations in English and Russian are due to national and cultural peculiarities; 3) etymology of color terms and historical facts sometimes make it possible to establish the dependence of a symbol on practice; 4) the main (perhaps the most universal) source of color terms are natural objects with a characteristic color. | 4140 | The article considers the way linguistic and cultural knowledge is used in translation and justifies the need to view a translator as a professional native and foreign language user. Similarly, it is important to recognize the specific character of translator’s language knowledge because, firstly, it is a tool in a professional cross-cultural mediation in translation; secondly, it provides the basis for the acquisition, development and functioning of translation skills. An attempt is made to identify the characteristics of translator’s linguacultural knowledge relevant to the process of code-switching, which should be viewed as the switching of linguacultural codes in order to reflect the interlingual and cross-cultural aspects of translation. Based on the analysis of the mental processes and mechanisms of linguacultural switching the following characteristics of translator’s lingualcultural knowledge have been proposed. Chunk-based language knowledge is represented by communicative chunks and communicative contours and is able to improve access, activation and retrieval of linguistic knowledge, error control, the functioning of radiant thinking and spreading activation. Frame-based knowledge of a foreign language creates the framework for probabilistic forecasting, facilitates direct access to conceptual representations in a foreign language, raises its activation level and reduces its dependence on the native language, as well as improving integration of linguistic and conceptual information into semantic memory. Systemic language knowledge means knowing a language as a system of dependencies and connections and ensures distinctness, flexibility and mobility of language knowledge. Language awareness involves the ability to pay attention to language forms, reflect on language, patterns and specific character of its functioning. Such awareness develops the skill of separating two languages and cultures, improves language and error control and prevents linguistic interference. Functional parallelism reflects the type of relationship between two language systems and is made up of systemic, communicative and operational aspects. The last characteristic involves the awareness of the linguistic factors causing breakdowns in code-switching in translation, as well as the ability to predict and deal with such problems. Collectively, the above-mentioned characteristics form the readiness and ability of a translator to code-switch. The development of these characteristics should be made part of professionally oriented foreign language teaching to trainee translators. | 4141 | Introduction. Study of texts’ headlines of different styles and genres in respect to their pragmatics is of interest in view of special role in organization of readers’ cognitive activity and influence on mass addressee. Up-to-date communicative and cognitive paradigm of linguistic knowledge aims to detecting of means and ways of effective organization of communication in different spheres including mass media. The aim of the article is detection of regulative facilities of different types of headlines in newspaper articles with relation to influence on mass addressee. The material and methods. The research was carried out on the material of «Rossiyskaya Gazeta» No. 8393, 2021 [https://rg.ru/gazeta/rg/2021/03/01.html]. 63 headlines of the articles from the site of “Rossiyskaya Gazeta” had been studied, taking into account the content of these media texts; 1300 responses from 20 informants – participants of the survey– had been summarized. The research is carried out in line with regulative theory, developed in communicative stylistics of text. Results and discussion. The title of individual articles is included as an element in the headline complex of media texts of the «Rossiyskaya Gazeta». The text of newspaper publications on the site is accompanied by column, headline, notice, it includes the first paragraph of material, indication to the author, it contains hyperlinks to the other media texts, a photo that is placed before the article or beside it to realize illustrative or qualifying function. It is determined that influence function dominates in most titles, and in the others – the informative one. Regulative potential of media texts headlines is connected mostly with a motive for readers to read the articles. This is due to lack of understanding, semantic versatility of headlines and intrigue that is set up on its basis, and attracting attention of addressee on the basis of method of disappointed affectation which is used in a title due to oxymoron, tropes, precedential texts, language game, rhetorical questions, that requires participation. Therefore, range of regulative means and structures in the articles’ headlines permits stimulating readers’ attention to introduction with next by the title media texts. Based on the results of a survey of informants, their assumptions about the possible media text’s content in line to perception of a title did not match as a rule with real information in the article. It is obvious, that the lack of understanding in the titles performs primarily a pragmatic function and requires clarification and addition in the form of other accompanying media text materials, including the notice and photographs, which partly fill in the information missing in the titles. It was detected that stimulating role of a title is determined by direction to primary audience, in other words the connection of a headline that stimulates the following introduction with media text with primary audience, and addressee factor including the age of potential readers and their interests is proved. Conclusion. The introduced approach to study pragmatics of headlines as the element of media text on basis of regulative theory allows to judge some regularities in organization of cognitive activity of mass addressee and efficiency of titles’ types, which are connected with reflection of actual themes, criterion of addressee profit, medium language originality, creation of intrigue due to usage of special regulative means and methods. The surveys are of interest for media linguistics and communicative stylistics of text. Keywords: media text, headline, article, regulative theory, regulative potential of a title | 1903 | |||||
| 4142 | Introduction. Digitalization of education is in demand due to the new didactic capabilities of computer technologies. However, so far there are extremely few examples of describing the pedagogical experience of teachers in this direction. The use of animated drawings in algebra lessons of the 7th grade contributes to the formation of a personality ready to unleash its creative potential in the digital economy. At the same time, interested students can be offered an educational and research task to create animated drawings under the guidance of a teacher. The aim of the research is to present fragments of algebra lessons in the 7th grade using animation drawings made in the GeoGebra environment. Material and methods. The study and analysis of literature on the use of dynamic drawings in teaching mathematics at school, summarizing the author’s experience in testing the elements of the methodology for teaching algebra in the 7th grade using animated drawings, which are elements of the digitalization of school education. Results and discussion. The author uses concrete examples to present a new technology of teaching using animated drawings in algebra lessons of the 7th grade. Conclusion. The analysis of school textbooks on mathematics of different years has shown that there are significantly more illustrations in modern textbooks: drawings, diagrams, graphs, drawings depicting figures, bodies and their intersections. We observe the principle of clarity in its development. Today, computer technologies allow us to take the next step in this direction and move from stationary drawings to animated ones. The use of new teaching technology using animated drawings in algebra lessons of the 7th grade increases the level of understanding and assimilation of knowledge by providing clarity of mathematical concepts and statements, eliminating undesirable computational difficulties, conducting operational testing. Animated drawings help the teacher to create the same type of tasks with a predictable solution. They provide opportunities for experimentation and support for an experimental research style of learning. All this makes it relevant to create animated content for conducting math lessons at school. Consequently, the systematic use of computer technology in teaching mathematics increases the active participation of students in research work. The material of the article can be considered as a contribution to the solution of this methodological problem.
