Polyakova N.V. VERBS OF DIRECTED AND UNDIRECTED MOVEMENT IN THE SELKUP LANGUAGE // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2017. Issue 10 (187). P. 122-126

Verbs of movement in the Selkup dialects denote different ways of movement, its nature, general orientation of the movement against the speaker, environment in which this movement occurs, and a number of additional components. Most Selkup verbs of movement are monosemantic, about 60% of meanings does not repeat, i. e. they are peculiar to one verb of movement. In the analyzed group of verbs of movement the synonymic relations are poorly developed in comparison with Russian in spite of the fact that among the Selkup verbs of movement the synonymy is more developed than in other lexico-semantic groups of the studied language. Selkup verbs of movement are divided into two groups: verbs of undirected movement and verbs of directed movement. Lexico-semantic group of verbs of undirected movement has the core which is formed by the most frequent polysemantic verbs kwangu, čāǯįgu and qənqo, and also periphery which is formed by the verbs of undirected movement including such lexico-semantic components as ‘environment in which the movement occurs’, ‘way of the movement’, ‘speed of the movement’, «figurative characteristic of the movement» in their meanings. The orientation sign of verbs of directed movement receives a specification. It is lexically expressed in specification of the direction by serial postpositions; grammatically it is specified by the formants coinciding with suffixes of the inflectional system. The group of verbs of directed movement includes verbs of absolute direction and verbs of relative direction. Verbs of absolute direction include verbs of vector movement in vertical direction and verbs of vector movement in horizontal direction. The Selkup verbs of movement are characterized by denoting the general movement direction (approach or removal) and orientation in space.

Il’chenko N.M., Marinina Y.A. THE IMAGE OF VENICE AS A SPACE OF LOVE AND DEATH (BASED ON THE WORKS OF E. T. A. HOFFMANN AND T. MANN) // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2018. Issue 6 (195). P. 158-164

The article considers novellas “The Doge and the Dogaressa” by E. T. A. Hoffman and “Death in Venice” by T. Mann as significant works of Venetian context. Motifs that are forming the image of Venice and included in the structure of Venetian myth are represented there. It is demonstrated that German writers in the beginning of XIXth and XXth centuries used motifs that defined the dual nature of image of Venice as the city of love and death: longing, mysteries, affinity of souls, masks, holiday / carnival and others; symbols: water, gondola / gondolier, flowers / trees, their smell and others. Hoffman’s and Mann’s Venice is pictured as an enchanting space. Both novellas begin and finish with the description of death, and love theme is connected there with sickness: love-sickness of Marino Falieri to the beautiful Annunciata and love-sickness of Aschenbach to Tadzio. In the novellas the images of mystery, mask, holiday / carnival and others, symbols of water, gondola / gondolier, flowers / trees, their smell and others are connected with the image of Venice. The image of Venice as a destructive space includes the episodes of an earthquake, plague, cholera. The negative connotation in the description of a sick city on water in T. Mann’s novella is the leading one, unlike in Hofmann’s where greatness and destruction are connected. Within the context of Venice as a decaying city love and death are inseparable, and one of the leading motifs is the motif of impossibility to leave it. The theme of art runs through the narration as a leit-motif in the novellas of German writers: the framing of Hofmann’s novella – a painting by Kolbe – suggests an idea of an amazing mystery of art creation, enabling the artist to penetrate into the essence of what is being depicted; a thought of a great role of the antique art for European culture of the beginning of the XXth century is introduced in T. Mann’s novella. Traditional for German literature motif of longing unites the two novellas as well. This approach makes it possible to imagine literary and art images, specifying peculiar features of Venetian myth’s formation and its connections to the space of Germany within the historical perspective.

Kazantseva T.Y. The Main Groups of the Gothic Nouns with Compound Stem-Building Markers and their Parallels in Indo-European Languages. // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2006. Issue 4 (55). P. 17-25

We have investigated ja-, jM-stems and found that they are characterized by the semantic unity. On the whole they denote animate objects of the real world or objects played the relevant role in economic life of the Germanic people. There are nouns marked by these stem-building markers, which express possession. Such nouns have the meaning of pertaining to something or somebody. We might conclude that the consonantal marker -j- is the characteristic of nouns of all three genders, therefore it didn’t relate to the grammatical category of gender, which was formed later. As the marker is rather old (Corbett), the original meaning of -j- was connected with an earlier category – category of animateness/inanimateness, i.e. it was the marker of animateness. This is determined by the semantic and etymological analyses of the Gothic ja-, jM-stems. It is possible to subdivide the Gothic nouns of ja-, jM-stems denoting animate things in perception of ancient people into six groups: 1) nouns denoting people and their occupation; 2) nouns of relationship; 3) nouns denoting animals and plants; 4) nouns denoting realities bound up with a person or animal; 5) nouns in any case pertaining to a person and his activity; 6) nouns denoting natural phenomena.

Dyboshina E.A., Shadrina L.G. Teaching dialogic speech to older preschoolers with mental retardation // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2023. Issue 2 (226). P. 26-32

In accordance with the Federal State Educational Standard of Preschool Education (FGOS DO), the development of speech and communication skills of children with adults and peers is among the important tasks of teaching and upbringing. The formation of dialogical skills of preschoolers is a necessary condition for their social and personal development. This requirement fully applies to children with mental retardation (hereinafter referred to as PSA). The article presents an analysis of dialogical utterances of preschoolers of this category, defines the content of the formation of skills to participate in a dialogue: to respond to replicas and request information. Communicative situations, role-playing dialogues, various kinds of games and exercises are defined as effective learning tools. The purpose of the study is to analyze the pedagogical conditions for the effective formation of dialogical speech in older preschoolers with mental retardation. As the main experimental methods, observation and pedagogical experiment were used, including children’s answers to different types of questions (reproductive, explanatory and alternative) and independent formulation of questions based on visual schemes–hints. On the basis of the experimental study, which involved 40 pupils of the older group with mental retardation at the age of 5–6 years, the characteristic features of the development of dialogue in children with mental retardation were confirmed. It is noted that with the seeming simplicity of the dialogue, greater independence from language norms, the children of the category under consideration experienced significant difficulties in building and maintaining the line of dialogue. The ascertaining experiment, conducted with older preschoolers with mental retardation, showed that an independent dialogue in most of them is significantly difficult and is characterized by a number of features associated with both a lag in speech and a lag in the development of thinking and speech-thinking activity. The content of the formative stage of the experiment included work on the formation of the ability to answer questions of varying complexity and independently request information. The novelty of the study lies in clarifying the content of the work on the development of dialogue skills in accordance with the linguistic features of this form of speech; updating data on the features of dialogic speech and communication skills in children with ASD, determining the stages of formation of dialogic skills in this category of preschoolers. The research materials make it possible to outline new strategic guidelines for corrective action in the field of speech, namely, the communicative development of preschoolers with mental retardation.

Keywords: dialogic speech, research of dialogic speech in children with ASD, formation of dialogic skills, information request, initiative speech

The article analyzes the place and role of leisure in the life of the speakers of the Russian language and modern national culture from the standpoint of the linguistic conceptual approach: it examines the structural and informative characteristics and lexical means the of the concept LEISURE expressing, which represents a significant fragment of the worldview for the modern Russian society. Leisure plays an important role in the self-realization of the individual and the regulation of its relationship with the outside world. Leisure is a space for personal improvement. The linguistic-culturological characteristic of the LEISURE concept is emphasized, since the value perception and understanding of leisure by the Russian people is fixed in the language. Proverbs, sayings, aphorisms, which include the lexeme leisure, its wide representation in Russian texts of various genres and styles, the interpretation of the features in dictionaries indicate the extreme importance of this concept in the Russian linguistic culture. Currently in Russia there is a multi-layered leisure space permeating the social being. The following informative components of the concept LEISURE are marked: “rest”, “free space”, “freedom”, “the opportunity to do your favorite hobby”, “soul celebration”, “the chance to show your creative abilities”. The increase in the amount of free time, scientific and technical progress, the national diversity of cultures contributes to the complication of the structure of leisure and the creation of many forms and types of leisure activity. In particular, this article deals with such leisure areas as leisure, organized by means of computer technologies, art and sports. The end of XX - the beginning of the XXI centuries is characterized by the flourishing of consumer culture in Russia and the replenishment of new types of leisure activities. The article substantiates the thesis that the specificity of modern leisure activities is determined by such property of consumer culture as creative consumerism. From this point of view, consumption is viewed as a process of creatively constructing an identity with the help of acquired goods and services. In language, this tendency is realized in the form of using in modern speakers’ speech the newest borrowed words denoting certain forms of leisure (shopping, body art, piercing, tattoo, face art, hand-made hobby, scrapbooking, patchwork, quilling, felting, etc.). In general, the stated problem has broad prospects for scientific research.

Zhdanov S.S. IMAGE OF GERMAN HEALTH RESORTS IN THE TRAVEL NOTES BY M. YE. SALTYKOV-SHCHEDRIN “ZA RUBEZHOM” // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2019. Issue 1 (198). P. 7-16

Introduction. The article deals with spatial images of the German resort towns Bad-Ems and Baden-Baden in the travel notes by M. Ye. Saltykov-Shchedrin “Za rubezhom”. This issue is still practically unresearched in literature studies and highly actual for imagology. Aim and objectives. The aim of the paper is detecting motives used by the writer for representing the towns in his work. Material and methods. The methods of the research are comparative and descriptive analysis, cultural-historical and semiotic methods. Results. The author of the research detects such characteristics of the literary space marked with Germanness as order, achronism, corruption and theatricalism of the life within the analysed loci. The special attention is paid to the core motif of the inner unfreedom by which the image of Germany unique for all kinds of German space is formed in the work. It’s also settled that the cross-cutting urbanistic image is according to the typology by V. N. Toporov the image of the ‘whore’-city influencing the images of the German resort towns and marking transformation of the erotic element in the sphere of goods/money relationships. Thus the text of the ‘fallen’ city imbued with Christian references shows throw the trivial reality of the philistine Germany in Saltykov-Shchedrin’s work and is as an intertextual base one of connecting links between images of the German resort towns and the capital Berlin. In addition the writer represents not only anthropic but also natural loci of mountain spaces forming a dimensional and simultaneously a spiritual opposition to the valley-space of the human existence earthbound in all senses. Conclusion. The results expand literary conceptualization about space images in Saltykov-Shchedrin’s works and connect German images created by the writer with the common tradition of representing Germany and Germans in the Russian literature of XIX – the early XX centuries. The article can be useful for Russian literature teachers and specialists dealing with literary imagology.
