Bolotnova N.S. COMMUNICATIVE STYLISTICS OF TEXT: MEDIA COMMUNICATIVE UNIVERSALS. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2015. Issue 9 (162). P. 19-27

Relying on the G. P. Melnikov's idea that language universals can be identified on the basis of the determinant as the primary mechanism of language systems, as well as on the experience of revealing communicative universals in literary texts, the author identified the media communicative universals considering the mass media as a special subsystem of verbal communication. The media communicative universals are interpreted as laws and related operating principles of structuring media texts that reflect a media event as an element of media communication and meet the criteria of frequency and repeatability with possible genre, idiostyle and other variations within the limits of a certain invariant. The media communicative universals were identified with regard to such factors as content, form and functions of text activity in mass media.

Shmigirilova I.B. ON THE ISSUE OF THE NOTION “COMPETENCE-ORIENTED TASK”. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2018. Issue 7 (196). P. 121-129

The urgency of establishing the essence of the term “competence-oriented task” is determined by the orientation toward achieving substantive, meta-subject and personal results of education in the secondary school educational practice. This category, widely used in pedagogical science and educational practice, does not quite justifiably relate to the concept of a task of a practical nature. The establishment of the specificity of competence-oriented tasks is carried out on the basis of an analysis of the positions of different authors, not only in understanding this category, but also in the semantically close to it concepts of “contextual task” and “situational task”, and also in connection with the modern interpretation of the learning task as a means of forming integrated educational result. The conclusion is drawn on the understanding of competence-oriented tasks as the tasks that, along with the formation of the subject competences of the student, determine the development of such qualities that determine the ability and readiness for independent cognitive activity, that is, the qualities whose totality determines the concept of cognitive competence. Examples of competence-oriented tasks are considered. Requirements to competency-oriented tasks in teaching mathematics are formulated. Proceeding from the structural and content features of cognitive competence as a significant component of an integral system of personality characteristics of a school graduate, the requirements that must be met in competence-oriented problems of school mathematics are established.

Keywords: competence-oriented task, contextual task, situational task, learning task, cognitive competence of the learner

Berezhnaya E.P. ONEGIN’S LAYER IN YU.N. TYNYANOV’S «THE PROBLEM OF POETRY LANGUAGE». Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2009. Issue 4 (82). P. 152-155

Tynyanov’s conception concerning «Yevgeniy Onegin» (not the motion of events but the motion of verbal masses) laid the foundation for making theoretical assumptions on message forming components of the text which are exhaustively presented in the book «The problem of Poetry Language». The concept differentiation structures of the poetic language such as unity and closeness of the verse series, dynamism of speech material, successive process of speech in verses suggested by Tynyanov in his «The problem…» represent Onegin’s text as a new form of poetic novel and within it – the conceptual status of the word deformed by verse. The paper deals with the instances of contiguity of «The problem of Poetry Language» to Pushkin’s novel implicitly forming the perspectives of investigating poetry semantics.

Karpukhina T.P. THE EFFECT OF DEFEATED EXPECTANCY CREATED BY THE INTERRELATION OF MORPHEMIC REPETITION AND SYNTACTICAL PARALLELISM IN ENGLISH ARTISTIC PROSE. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2013. Issue 3 (131). P. 22-27

Interrelation of morphemic repetition and syntactical parallelism in English fiction is not infrequently accompanied by the phenomenon of defeated expectancy. The combination of twofold repetition – of those of morphemes and of syntactical structures – reciprocally enhance the rule and order they create. Unpredictable breach of the established rule leads to defeated expectancy on the part of the reader. This effect is never realized in full, since the unexpected changes enforced by the author do not radically affect or annihilate either morphemic repetition or syntactical parallelism.

The problem of studying of the basic lexemes of the concept “Arbeit” was studied by the author during the dissertation research on the material of proverbs of unrelated languages. In this research a comprehensive study of the basic lexeme “Arbeit” was carried out within the framework of the description of the linguocultural concept “work”. The study was conducted in accordance with the meanings of the word “Arbeit” which are represented in the dictionary entries in the form of synonymic series for each component of the words under analysis. Certain symbols verbalize the meaning “work as a profession, position” are grouped thematically and marked by territorial identity. The derivational structure of these lexemes was determined as well as frequency of their manufacturing bases of the derivatives. The semantics of the components of compound words was analyzed. The author identifies the usage labels reflecting the connotative coloring of the lexemes verbalizing the meaning of the word “Arbeit”. For more results the analysis involves data from synonymous and etymological dictionaries. The results of the study can be used in practical classes, in the seminars in lexicology of the German language.

Pavlovskaya I.Y., Sedelkina Y.G., Tkacheva L.O., Nasledov A.D. PSYCHOSEMANTIC RESEARCH IN VISUAL PERCEPTION OF CROSS-LINGUISTIC SOUND-ICONISM BY RUSSIAN SPEAKERS OF ENGLISH: A LINGUISTIC PERSPECTIVE. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2018. Issue 4 (193). P. 147-153

Beginning with a brief survey of the latest developments in the field of phonosemantics the article looks into psychological basis of sound iconism by investigating the reactions of Russian speakers to English sound-iconic words. The experiment with the use of the Lexical Decision method is described and the results are tabled. The subjects – 90 Russian learners of English at different proficiency levels – were asked to identify as words or non-words stimuli of three types: a) sound-iconic English words, b) non-iconic (neutral) English words and c) quasi-words. All stimuli were presented visually in random sequences in a compressed time frame. The criteria for selecting the stimuli were thoroughly elaborated. The results of the experiment show a statistically veritable delay in identifying the sound-iconic stimuli as words. It remained constant, regardless of the English language proficiency level of the participants. Presumably, the cognitive complexity of the task increased because of a certain interference between the two ways of information processing: abstract-conceptual and sensory-symbolic. This influenced the speed and accuracy of word recognition. Another factor leading to errors might stem from the fact that the sound forms of the English visual stimuli, as they were reproduced by the subjects in their inner speech, did not coincide with their associations in Russian, which made them «think twice» before answering.

Efendiyeva N.R., Poplavskaya I.A. S. YA. MARSHAK AS A TRANSLATOR OF POETRY AND PROSE BY G. RODARI. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2022. Issue 4 (222). P. 137-146

Introduction. The dialogue of Russian and Western European literature, translations of foreign texts and their assimilation in the host culture, the creation of national world images – all these issues are relevant in modern literary criticism, translation studies, and country studies. The aesthetic principles of S. Ya. Marshak in translating the poetry and prose of the Italian writer J. Rodari correspond to his concept of translation-portrait and organically fit into the history of Russian and Italian literature for children in the middle of the 20th century. The purpose of the article is seen in the disclosure of the relationship between the principles of Marshak-translator and their refraction in translations of poetry and prose by J. Rodari, addressed to the child reader. Material and methods. The material of the study is critical articles by S. Ya. Marshak, poems by G. Rodari “What do crafts smell like?”, “Venice” and the prose story-tale “The Adventures of Cipollino”, translated by Z. M. Potapova and edited by S. Ya. Marshak. The work uses receptive and imagological approaches, comparative-typological, comparative-historical and comparative-comparative methods, as well as contextual and content analysis of Rodari’s original works and their Russian counterparts-translations. Results and discussion. There are different types of translations – “address” translation by K. I. Chukovsky, “translation-portrait” and translation-editing by S. Ya. Marshak. In accordance with the poetics of Italian poetry for children and the Italian literary fairy tale, S. Ya. Marshak’s translations of G. Rodari’s poems and the translation-retelling of the story “The Adventures of Cipollino” are analyzed. The folklore origins of Italian children’s literature are revealed, the connection of the fairy tale about the onion boy with the traditions of “commedia dell’arte” and with a fairy tale, the features of the reader’s perception of the child are revealed, the “double” aesthetic position of the author writing for children is comprehended: “adult” consciousness, resurrecting in itself the consciousness and worldview of the child. The translation principles of S. Ya. Marshak-poet and S. Ya. Marshak-prose writer are considered and compared. The role of the works of G. Rodari in the formation of Russian-Italian literary and cultural relationships and in the formation of Russian literature for children is emphasized. Conclusion. Velichko Y.V., Militsina O.V., Shishkina S.V. MODERN GUIDELINES FOR SOCIALIZATION OF CHILDREN IN ADDITIONAL EDUCATION BY MEANS OF ART. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2021. Issue 1 (213). P. 132-138

Introduction. The article presents the results of studying the problems of socialization of children in terms of additional education by means of art, the theoretical analysis of concepts «socialization», «cultural socialization» and basic components of the structure of these categories, in particular, «the system of individual values of personality», which determines the results of socialization of children as a socio-pedagogical phenomenon. The cultural specificity of socialization of children in terms of additional arts education, the psycho-pedagogical guidelines for the formation of individual values (directivity of value orientations, needs, motives of behavior and activity, etc.) in the sphere of additional education of children on the modern stage. Aim and objectives. To substantiate and concretize modern guidelines for socialization of children in additional education by means of art. Material and methods. The study used theoretical methods of interdisciplinary study of the process of socialization of a growing personality, its spiritual and cultural aspect, and analyzed current scientific research that reveals methodological guidelines that mediate the effectiveness of the results of the process of cultural socialization of children in modern conditions of additional art education. Methodological guidelines were personal, activity, complex, comparative approaches, theoretical analysis of scientific literature and classification, generalization of research results. Results and discussion. The process of socialization in scientific research is not only considered from the perspective of society, but from a position of identity that actualizes the role of personal and activity approach to the interaction between the child and the world of artistic culture. An important result of cultural socialization of children in additional education is the system of individual values as personal education (orientation of value orientations, needs and motives of activity). Set of interdisciplinary research (M. V. Boguslavsky, I. A. Pakhomov, V. V. Pavlovsky) allows us to highlight the features of the socialization process in modern conditions of functioning of institutions of additional education for children – the digital environment, changes in the content and methodological system of artistic additional education (the appearance of real on-line and off-line education), the teacher’s orientation to a personality-oriented model of interaction with children. Conclusion. Modern landmarks of the process of cultural socialization in secondary education by means of art (the interpenetration of ideas and methodological tools of personal and activity approaches and methods of digital pedagogy) contribute to the formation of individual values, personality artistic, aesthetic, creative direction, selfdevelopment and self-realization of a child in a constantly changing cultural environment, which is the main criterion of the efficiency and effectiveness of socialization process of growing personality.

Galkina T.V., Poleva E.A. Manuscripts by A. M. Volkov as keys to understanding the development of the author’s concept of the fairy tale “The Wizard of the Emerald City”. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2024. Issue 4 (234). P. 154-168

The article is dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the publication of the first edition of A. M. Volkov’s fairy tale “The Wizard of the Emerald City” (1939). The work uses for the first time the handwritten collection of the children’s writer A.M. Volkov, stored at Tomsk State Pedagogical University. Manuscripts allow one to penetrate into the writer’s workshop, to trace the formation and development of an idea and the course of the creative process. A comparison of the structure of chapters in the 1936 manuscript and the 1939 edition made it possible to identify changes made to the composition (deletion, introduction of new ones, merging chapters). In addition, the article provides fragments of manuscripts from 1936, with which A. Volkov planned to supplement the text, but did not include them in the printed version of 1939. Analysis of the drafts gave an idea of A. Volkov’s work with character names. It was important for the writer to find equivalents to the names in F. Baum’s fairy tale, so that they would be understandable to the Russian-speaking reader and optimally reveal the character’s image. The writer worked on the largest number of name options for Scarecrow. Of particular interest is the manuscript of fragments of A. M. Volkov’s play “Flight to Fairyland” based on “The Wizard of the Emerald City”. The manuscript is introduced into scientific circulation for the first time and commented on. The diary entries of A. Volkov and the unusual image of Goodwin in fragments of the play (a black slave Uncle Joe who escaped from an exploiter) indicate that the writer tried to submit to circumstances, adapt to the requirements of censorship, inscribing a fairy tale plot into the traditions of social literature of the late 19th – first half XX century. However, the incompleteness of the play’s concept can be explained by both external (the onset of the “thaw”) and internal (unwillingness to obey the political situation) reasons. The manuscript of “Flight to Fairytale Land” is published in full in this issue of the magazine.

Savenko A.S. LEXICOLIZATION OF INSIDE FORM OF PHYTONIMS IN RUSSIAN, ENGLISH AND CZECH. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2018. Issue 2 (191). P. 48-53

The article deals with phenomenon of lexicalization of the inside form of plants’ names in the Russian language in comparison with English and Czech. Lexicalization of a word inside form is defined as acquisition of idiomatic character of a word in basis of disability of motivated relationship with other words. The sources of the research are explanatory, translated, etymological dictionaries and botanical reference books as well as statements of informants’ language consciousness. The psycholinguistic experiment with native speakers of Russian, English and Czech was examined in order to define idiomatic character of a word inside form. In the course of the motivational-comparative analysis it was defined that there are two groups of phytonims with idiomatic inside form. The first group includes such lexical units, the reason for the idiomaticity of which is low information content, that led to quick deactualization of motivated sign. The second group consists of lexical units, which idiomaticity’s reason is a loss of initial motivated sign, obvilion of one of the word meaning, though that word is well-known to native speakers of the language. In the issue of the conducted experiment a layer of phytonymic vocabulary with idiomatic and non-idiomatic inside form in the Russian, English and Czech languages was defined, specificity of lexicalization of word inside form of Russian plants’ names was described, extralinguistic and linguistic reasons of lexicalization of word inside form of phytonims were determined. In conclusion it should be noted that the phenomenon of lexicalization in Russian is an operative process, that confirms the tendency to motivation of language units.

Introduction. Nowadays linguists are increasingly interested in studying the terminology of professional sublanguages from the point of view of a cognitive approach. Cognitive frame modeling of terminology systems is becoming relevant being an effective way of representing the terminology of a special sublanguage. The aim of the work is to create and describe the cognitive frame model of the terminological system of the subject area “Building materials” in modern Russian. Material and methods. The material for the study is the terminological units of the subject area “Building materials”, selected from lexicographic sources on construction, regulatory documents, scientific papers, commercial catalogues of construction products, and professional internet websites about construction. The research methodology is based on general scientific and linguistic methods of descriptive and comparative research methods, including methods of linguistic modeling, framing, definitional, oppositional analysis as well as quantitative analysis. Results and discussion. The article identifies the main concepts of the frame approach to the study of terminology. The theoretical basis and interpretation of the concept of frame are presented, the frame structure used in this paper is developed. The work presents the frame model of the term system of the professional sphere “Building materials” in Russian. The paper defines the main subframes of this field: “Wood Materials”, “Ceramic Materials”, “Stone Materials”, “Glass Materials”, “Metal Materials”, “Cement”, “Concrete”, “Construction Mixes”, “Binders and Materials”, “Polymer Materials”, “Isolation Materials”, “Roofing Materials”, “Finishing Materials”. The analysis reveals the hierarchical frame structure, consisting of 13 subframes with their subsequent division into slots, micro-slots, and semantic groups. The study presents a detailed description of the subframe “Wood Materials” and the micro-slot “Composite Wood Materials” as well as semantic groups that are part of them. Various types of semantic relations between the terms representing the cognitive-frame model of the term system “Building materials” are revealed. Conclusion. The cognitive-frame model of the term system “Building materials” allows to present a hierarchically organized system of knowledge about a given subject area in a structured form and to identify system relations between the components of the term system. The presented fragment of the frame model illustrates the intra-system relations of the terms that verbalize it. The results obtained are of interest for terminology studies and can be used for educational and lexicographic purposes.

Kazantseva T.Y. The Main Groups of the Gothic Nouns with Compound Stem-Building Markers and their Parallels in Indo-European Languages.. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2006. Issue 4 (55). P. 17-25

We have investigated ja-, jM-stems and found that they are characterized by the semantic unity. On the whole they denote animate objects of the real world or objects played the relevant role in economic life of the Germanic people. There are nouns marked by these stem-building markers, which express possession. Such nouns have the meaning of pertaining to something or somebody. We might conclude that the consonantal marker -j- is the characteristic of nouns of all three genders, therefore it didn’t relate to the grammatical category of gender, which was formed later. As the marker is rather old (Corbett), the original meaning of -j- was connected with an earlier category – category of animateness/inanimateness, i.e. it was the marker of animateness. This is determined by the semantic and etymological analyses of the Gothic ja-, jM-stems. It is possible to subdivide the Gothic nouns of ja-, jM-stems denoting animate things in perception of ancient people into six groups: 1) nouns denoting people and their occupation; 2) nouns of relationship; 3) nouns denoting animals and plants; 4) nouns denoting realities bound up with a person or animal; 5) nouns in any case pertaining to a person and his activity; 6) nouns denoting natural phenomena.

The article raises the issues of contemporary anthropology in the view of perspectives of Christian idea about a man as an image of God. These are the problems of correlation of natural unconsciousness and conscious comprehension in a human creature. And as a part, this is a question of the base of the mutual influence, the problems of a plurality and contradictions of modalities of consciousness. We put forward the question about possibilities of Christian discourse on a human nature and his capacities in the aspect of the perspectives in contemporary anthropology. In the issue the versions and the arguments of understanding the nature of a man as an image of God are analyses in a key of Christian doctrines. We propose as a methodological approach the idea about some modus, some planes of unified structure and nature of human consciousness. In these planes it performs as an Image and a reflection of the World (in the form of reason), an Image and comprehension of God (in the modus of existential self-renewal and mystic transgression), and an Image and a reception of a event and process of world-creation (in the modus of aesthetic perception and poetic creation) synchronically. Theoretical perspectives and implications of this approach are estimated both for philosophical anthropology, and for theological exegesis on conflict of primordial man, fallen man and salvaged man.

Melnikov J.B., Shitikov S.A., Sintsova S.G. ATTITUDE TO MATHEMATICAL PHENOMENA AND THEIR IMPACT ON TEACHING MATHEMATICS. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2017. Issue 8 (185). P. 108-113

The mathematical phenomenon includes the mathematical concept, the system of axioms, theorem, method, algorithm, etc. The purpose of this research is determination of all the options of perception to the mathematical phenomenon relevant for the education system and identifying some of the learning features for each of these options. A set of three postulates is chosen (the postulate on the priority result of educational and mathematical activity, the postulate of the didactic relevance of the components of activity, the postulate of the priority component of educational and mathematical activity). It is shown that if these postulates are implemented from the didactic point of view, then only two variants of the relation to mathematical phenomena are applicable: 1) the mathematical phenomenon as the subject of activity (in particular, as information to be memorized); 2) mathematical phenomenon as a tool of activity. The study of the mathematical phenomenon always begins in a situation when this phenomenon acts as an object of activity. However, to form a view of this phenomenon, the teacher must create conditions, the learning environment in which the learner naturally desires to consider this phenomenon as an instrument of activity. The examples of reflection of these variants of relationship in theory and practice of teaching mathematics are given. It is pointed out that for the students to take a mathematical phenomenon as a versatile phenomenon associated with other mathematical and non-mathematical phenomena, it is necessary that both variants of the relation to the mathematical phenomenon should be represented in the educational process.

The article deals with complex and compound terms of physics in the Tatar language formed by combining of bases with complete relations of their components. This type of word formation is very common in the terminology of physics in the Tatar language. Basically, linguists use this method to form terms with two or more components. The scientific novelty of the article is that for the first time it gives the information about the methods of formation of complex and compound physics terms in the Tatar language. The article gives an explanation of the concept “complete relation”, types and examples of the Tatar terms of physics formed this way. Both complex and compound terms are formed by combining the bases with complete relations of their components, but the bulk is composed of compound words that have their own word-formation models. The first components of such terms are different parts of speech, and the second component is often the noun, less often the verb. Also, most of the compound terms of physics are multicomponent words, which consist of three, four, and five components. The first components of complex or compound terms are often terminological elements or commonly used international words. The authors come to the conclusion that multicomponent terms of physics which can consist of both own words of the Tatar language and international featuring Tatar component are basically formed by combining the bases with complete relations of their components.

The article deals with the analysis of Chinese proverbs and sayings found in the periodicals of the Russian Far East. Geopolitical location of the Russian Far East and recent growth of trans-border contacts with neighboring Asian countries make considerable influence on people’s minds and people’s perception of life. This makes the research timely and appropriate. Methodology of the research is based on the interdisciplinary approach to the analysis of ethnic proverbs and sayings which circulate in a different culture or a different language. The authors provide cross-cultural analysis of Chinese proverbs and the ways of their presentation in the Russian mass media. The pragmatics of citation of a Chinese proverb/saying in the Russian discourse proved to be determined by intelligibility of the proverb/saying to Russian readers. In some cases authentic ethnic imagery of the Chinese proverb/saying is pragmatically preserved. It makes reference to the wisdom of the Chinese ancient civilization more evident, and serves as an effective way of reasoning in a newspaper article. Special attention is drawn to cultural factors influencing the form and the semantics of Chinese proverbs in the Russian discourse. Parables and myths which stand behind almost all Chinese proverbs and sayings are lost in the Russian discourse, and Chinese proverbs are sometimes substituted with a Russian analogue. The authors of the article describe functions and pragmatics of Chinese proverb usage in a new cultural environment. In mass media of the Russian Far East Chinese proverbs realize a wide range of functions, among which the most relevant are informative, argumentative, phatic and appellative functions. Implementation of the above mentioned functions depends on cross-cultural pragmatics.

The calculations clearly show that the calculated by B3LYP/II and B3LYP/3-21G* 35CI frequencies correlate with the experimental values are the same. On the other hand the QCC values calculated with use of the pseudo potential for the central atoms provided much lower than the experimental ones. At the same time the QCC values of the central atoms calculated by B3LYP/3-21G* were well correlated with experimental values. The ZPE corrected complexation energies of the SbCI5L complexes do not upgrade the binding energies towards the experimental Gutmann's donor numbers. The donor-acceptor bonds for all complexes have a high degree of ionic character. The Wiberg bond order values determine of the detection of the metal-ligand bond orbitals with the exception of niobium complexes by NBO approach. The value of Wiberg bond order must be not lesser than 0.3. It is reported in the text that the analyzed imperative constructions are reviewed in the field of conceptual grammar which researches grammatical concepts (or cognitive images) that lie behind the linguistic signs and are reflected in grammatical forms, categories and syntactic structures. The article deals with the syntactic concepts which are represented in the language by the means of the very syntactic structures. The study is aimed at identifying and describing the mental constructs of knowledge that are verbalized in verbless one-member sentences in the English-speaking advertising slogans. They help to summarise the main idea of the advertisement to the fullest extent possible. The use of verbless constructions in the advertising texts is connected with linguistic economy and with a special effect of a nominal structures on a reader. The relevance is determined not only by the growing interest in the study of advertising discourse but by the use of the methodology of the new research paradigms. In conclusion it is noted that the factual material allowed to set up five basic syntactic concepts, verbalized in verbless one-member sentences in advertising discourse, taking into account morphological characteristic of the head element of the sentence.

Accordingly, the question arises about the requirements for a modern textbook in the framework of the psychodidactic approach. The aim of the article is to develop a typology of developing educational texts aimed at enriching various forms of mental experience of students. Material and methods. The study was based on the analysis of the psychological characteristics of the intellectual education of students in the framework of the psychodidactic approach, based on the psychological and pedagogical substantiation of the polyfunctionality of modern educational mathematics materials. Results and discussion. The concept of developing educational text is introduced. The specificity of developing educational texts lies in the fact that they, being a projection of the structure of scientific mathematical knowledge, at the same time, firstly, ensure the formation of the main components of a student’s mental experience (including cognitive, conceptual, metacognitive and intentional experience) and, secondly, create conditions for the manifestation and formation of individual cognitive styles of students. Such an educational text should be built as some multidimensional semantic space (hypertext), its structure, along with its “core” (certain subject information), includes context and subtext. The typology of developing educational texts (the study of school mathematics) developed on the basis of the ontological theory of intelligence is presented. Examples of educational texts of different types in the course of mathematics of the basic school are given. Conclusion. The implementation of a complex of developing educational texts creates conditions for increasing the level of understanding of educational mathematical material and the growth of intellectual resources of students by enriching the main components of their mental (mental) experience – cognitive, conceptual, metacognitive, intentional (emotional-evaluative).

Wang G. A STUDY OF THE TRADITIONAL VALUES OF MARRIAGE REFLECTED IN CHINESE PROVERBS. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2019. Issue 4 (201). P. 102-109

Language is an essential element of culture and it is possible to transfer cultural information via language. Meanwhile, cultural changes affect the development of the language elements such as grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary and usage. Therefore, the study of a culture cannot be complete without learning the language in which cultural codes are transmitted. Proverbs are an important part of the language. The contents include moral values, lifestyle, traditional culture and many other aspects. They demonstrate some ethnic cultural values, reflect the inner world of the people. There are many Chinese proverbs showing the traditional ideas of marriage and the right choice of a spouse. The family as a unit of society is an important carrier of continuity and the development of national culture. This article discusses the importance of family life and the meanings of marriage based on the analysis of some typical related Chinese proverbs. The characteristics and special features of Chinese traditional family and marriage values can be represented in these proverbs. The deep structure of the proverbs indicates the need to preserve stability and harmony in the family and marriage, which is one of the most crucial values identified and substantiated through long history. This paper suggests that traditional Chinese people have been paying great attention to the family life and quality of marriage. It emphasizes that when choosing a spouse, moral qualities were considered more seriously than outer appearance. Besides, the positions of the husband and wife should be roughly equal in terms of social classes, financial conditions and educational backgrounds. Proverbs conveys the traditional ideas that men take the leading and dominant roles in family life. By analyzing Chinese proverbs about marriage and family relationships, one can gain further understanding of the traditional Chinese view of marriage and love. In Chinese society at the beginning of the 21st century, traditional values are still the resources for people to develop the new concepts of relations between spouses and such research meets the requirements of the social development of modern society.

Kobenko Y.V. UNKNOWN OBVIOUS TRICHOTOMY: ROLE OF LOGIC IN GLOTTOGONY. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2019. Issue 7 (204). P. 115-129

Introduction. The oxymoron in the title of the paper expresses the evidence of the trichotomy proposed in the work and its obscurity to a wide range of poststructuralists who in one way or another touch upon questions of glottogenesis. The dominance in the world linguistics of the intracorporal vectors of language search from the middle of the past century led only to the mystification of this field of knowledge. However, the turn of research at the change of millennia towards extralinguistics is capable of dispelling the myth rooted in a wide audience about the intracorporal (cognitive, psychological, mental, etc.) origin of the language and leading the extralinguistic determinism of glottogony and language evolution processes to the first positions in linguistics. Nevertheless, contrary to the repeatedly verified data of interdisciplinary research, at present, one can still observe the confrontation of the sophistic tradition of idealism, defending the idea of intracorporal origin of the language, and the completely forgotten in linguistic circles theory of socially determined genesis of language, that had solitary status still in the middle of the last century. Post-structuralism, which has thoroughly entered into a “cognitive dead end”, has condemned itself to deserved criticism, to which a fair amount of this work is devoted. The aim of the paper is to propose a new trichotomy of structural systemic linguistics “language system – grammar – speech”. Material and methods. Structural-systemic and semiotic approaches form the epistemological framework of the study, during which the methods of logic (analysis, synthesis, comparison, etc.) were used, as well as the general scientific method of triangulation, that allows to single out a common third for two objects of observation. Results and discussion. The proposed trichotomy of the structural-system linguistics “language system – grammar – speech”, where grammar is understood as a set of rules, and speech – as a result of combinations of system elements, deepens understanding of the functioning of sign communication systems in the language community, as well as co-evolution of language and society. The language is designed so that the minimum of speech combinatorics can contribute to the assimilation of the rule, and the learned rule, in turn, is the key to mastering the maximum of the system itself. The rule, as an additional third and transitional link between the system and the function, acts simultaneously as an extra-linguistic binding of the virtual system of signs, invisible to a person, and the speaker. The sign nature of a language is understood through the semiotic conditionality of glottogony, in which logic plays a leading role not in the Aristotelian sense, but as a system of principles, laws, and operations for performing a certain activity — in this case, communicative. The participation of logic in the processes of speech-generation refutes the existing ideas about grammar as part of a language construct and prompts to consider it an additional third (instruction) in relation to the language system and individual speech repertoires. Conclusion. Glottogony is not a cognitive, but a logical-semiotic process. The sign, which lies at the base of all three elements of trichotomy, precedes both the processes of understanding (awareness) and the production of speech. In addi tion, through the sign and logical (non-mental or speculative) rule of its use, the speaking population becomes itself: the sign and rule unites users of the language, realizing its main function in the environment – the integrative one.
