| 1901 | Each ethnos has its own ideas of the world and the system of worldly space structuring that allows orienting in space. The idea of the three-part structure of the world including the Upper, Middle and Lower Worlds is common for many nations as well as the idea of existence of vertical and horizontal projections of the universe. In mythology the Upper World is connected with the highest gods. It is located over people. The Middle World is the place inhabited by people and animals. The Lower World is associated with the world of evil spirits and the dead. It is located under the ground or water. Ethnographic and linguistic material demonstrates coexistence of vertical and horizontal world projections in the Selkup worldview and presence of only the vertical world projection in the Russian one. The Middle World being according to the ancient beliefs the world for people and animals is the most significantly objectivized both in the Selkup and the Russian languages. The analysis of linguistic and ethnographic material allowed revealing essential differences in the Selkup and Russian ways of worldly space structuring. The circular type of space structuring is typical for the Russian ethnos as the representative of the farming culture. There is the house and householding buildings on the fenced territory in the center of the Russian worldly space, the next concentric circle includes the settlement, the second concentric circle consists of the fields and pastures having an important economic value, the third concentric circle includes forest grounds, the fourth is represented by the distant spaces. People feel the most familiar with the next and the second concentric circles and less familiar with the third and fourth concentric circles. The representatives of the Selkup ethnos orient in surrounding space relying on focal points by specification of their arrangement relative to each other. | 1902 | Introduction. The article describes the aspects of the metaphorical interpretation of the concept stone, presented in Russian linguistic culture and the system of figurative means of the Russian language. The relevance of the research is due to the scientific interest in the study of the metaphorical functioning of concepts and their figurative language representation in the perspective of the anthropocentric paradigm of linguistics. The aim of the work is to describe the metaphorization of various qualities and properties of a stone for the figurative description of objects of the surrounding reality and the inner world of a person, expressed in the semantics of language units and speech statements. Material and methods. The methodology of the work is based on cognitive, linguistic, cultural and system-structural approaches to the study of the figurative language and speech. The methods of structural-semantic, conceptual and contextual analysis, as well as field modeling and cultural linguistic commentary are used. Empirical material is represented by figurative words and expressions (about 200 units), as well as contexts that demonstrate their metaphorical functioning (about 850 contexts). The sources were the published explanatory and phraseological dictionaries of the modern Russian language and the text base of the National Corps of the Russian language. Results and discussion. As a result, the qualities and properties of the concept being studied were described, which served as the basis for metaphorical projections on figuratively named objects and situations; the lexical and phraseological field of the Russian language is characterized, represented by words and expressions, metaphorically motivated names with the semantics ‘stone’; cognitive models are revealed for which the Stone conceptual sphere is the initial one and serves as a source of the metaphorical characteristics of the phenomena of other conceptual target spheres. The concept of stone in its metaphorical functioning actualizes the following basic features: hardness, strength, heaviness, immobility, color. These qualities of a stone are metaphorically projected onto the properties of various material and non-material objects: objects (hard, lost softness), the human body (heavy, immovable), psychological states of a person (grief, anxiety, depression, torpor), moral qualities (indifference, willpower, responsiveness), mental and social activities (meaningful content, the beginning of activities). Conclusion. The obtained results demonstrate cognitively and axiologically significant fragment of the Russian language world view. The corpus research data testify active metaphoric functioning of the Stone concept in modern discursive practices. | 1909 | The article deals with the analysis of effectiveness of innovative forms used in the modern system of education and upbringing. It considers the problem of using the information technologies, one of which is the virtual museum, in the process of military education. Patriotic upbringing is defined as one of the priority directions of the teaching process development at the military educational establishments. Consequently, the contents of the patriotism concept have been revealed. Museum pedagogy, which combines new forms of cognitive, communicative activity and patriotic upbringing, provides almost unlimited potential of educational influence on human mind. It is noted that the standard of preschool education focuses on the new content of the educational field – speech development and outlines the tasks associated primarily with the need to form the desire of the child to communicate with peers and adults, the formation of communication skills. The author examines the reasons for reducing the overall level of language development of preschool children, which creates difficulties not only for the formation of coherent, grammatically correct speech, but also for their successful communication and socialization in the society of peers and adults. For full development, it is important to include every child in a confiding informal communication. | 1924 | The ways of expressing comparison in the works of Yuri Polyakov are considered. The authors define the morphological and syntactic features of similes and their functions in an artistic text. Similes, accomplished with the help of conjunctions as, like, as if, as well as the other means of connection are allocated. Among them are the special forms of nouns (genitive and instrumental case), other parts of speech (prepositions, adjectives, participles, adverbs). The most frequent in the works of Y. Polyakov are comparative constructions with such lexical means as a preposition as, an adverb like, an adjective similar to, a participle resembling, having likeness. The author’s favorite form of expression of comparison, as our observations show, is predicative units, representing different types of subordinate compound sentences. In the novel of Y. Polyakov, there are constructions with a comparison in the predicative center with a predicative-noun, which is the rarest in fictional texts. A specific way of expressing the phenomenon under consideration in the work of Y. Polyakov is a description of situations based on comparison. In content the vast majority of Yuri Polyakov’s comparisons have a distinct individual character, they are unusual, original and thus picturesquely presented an individual author’s picture of the writer’s mindset, involve the reader in the world of the artist of the word. | 1925 | The article deals with problems of cognitive linguistics. The fundamental concepts comprising world language picture is the centre of attention. The article traces the verbalization of the concept of “bread” in the Russian language, using materials from the academic dictionary that contain some phraseological units with component “bread”, each of which implements one of the main cognitive features of this concept. On the basis of the examples given, it is shown that the degree of phraseologization of these units is different, but nevertheless all of them retain a connection with the original denotate. This circumstance contributes to the preservation of positive connotations in this phraseological paradigm. The analysis of cognitive signs to identify the scope of the concept of “bread” in the language picture of the world of the Russian people is carried out. The question of the original meaning, which forms the main nominative meaning of the word “bread” in Russian, which is present in the semantic structure of all derivatives, regardless of the degree of their distance from the creation of a semantic base, is considered. For the bulk identification of the concepts of “bread” in the linguistic picture of the world of Russian people, an analysis was conducted on the basis of cognitive signs. The fundamental nature of the concept “bread” in a language picture of the world of the Russian people with all evidence is shown at all levels. A complete idea of the scope of this concept can be created only with regard to folklore material. However, the system of the most important cognitive signs is successfully traced on the material of lexical, phraseological and paremiological units. We have been collecting the corresponding materials from dictionaries of V. I. Dal, V. M. Ogoltsev, D. N. Ushakov, M. Fasmer, and the four-volume academic dictionary of Russian (the Small Academic dictionary). The task of cognitive or linguistic-cognitive analysis is to analyze language units, focused on identifying cognitive signs that represent this concept in the structure of a particular character. The research shows that cognitive characteristics realized by the concept “bread” embrace the image of bread in the national thinking of Russian nation. It was determined that a “Person” as a personality, his relations with other people and with society, and with a whole world are in the center of poetic world by Marina Ivanovna Tsvetaeva. As a rule, this “Person” is a poetic “Ego” of the author. Youthful maximalism and the world perception connected with it, M. Tsvetaeva carried for the rest of her life. It is proved on the example of the textual paradigms of antonymous type and connected with them fields of the author’s concept sphere that a contrast turned into the one measure of visual environment, relations with other people, evaluation of the other people’s and her own personality. | 1945 | The article describes a discursive Internet space, reveals communicative, structural, cognitive features of the sites of three sports schools for children and youth. The study draws attention to the leading strategies and tactics of information transmission, means of influence on the addressee, orientation to different age groups. The authors found the following: sites are polytext polycode spaces; their contents represent sport schools as stages in training, sports development of the child, gradual moving to sports teams; the communicative organization of sites is complex, combines the following strategies - information, self-presentation, maintaining contacts with parents, children, coaches, teamworkers; influence through conviction, creation of motivation for sports and training in a particular school, emotion; cognitive compositions of sites do not coincide; the level of institutionality is different. The axiological component of sites includes only the implementation of positive assessment. Cognitive composition of sites is not the same. The concepts of “success”, “sport”, “hockey”, “team”, “friendship”, “opportunities”, “man” are updated in the space of the first site. The cognitive composition of the second site includes the actualized concepts of “achievement”, “pride”, “chosenness”, “modernity”, “uniqueness”, “top”. The concept “team-family” is common for both sites. The type of content, the structure of the interface, the way of communication, the official-business nature of speech interaction, refer the third site to institutional discourse. The concepts of “efficiency”, “professional activity”, “leisure”, “development”, “age requirements” are updated in its content, informational strategies prevail over advertising and influencing. Texts of official-business speech genres are present only in its content. | 1946 | The article deals with the method of moral dilemmas used for development of communicative competence in foreign language teaching at higher school. The author pays special attention to the need of stimulation of any speech activity of students with the aim of clarifying of the unexpectedly appeared misunderstanding. The author underlines that showing oneself in the discussion, regardless of the language knowledge and skills and having no fear of making a mistake, is an invaluable experience for speaking. The author presents the examples of moral dilemmas used in teaching English at higher school and the stages of the work with them and gives specific recommendation on it. While describing the work with dilemmas, the author points out the importance of correct determination of size and gender composition of the groups and the possibility of discussing moral dilemmas by the students having different level of the language. The author comes to the conclusion that the discussion of moral dilemmas in the classroom while teaching foreign languages at higher education institution not only contributes to the understanding of moral values and qualities, but also develops language skills, fluency of speech, speech accuracy; it improves pronunciation and interaction with a partner.
