Yermolenkina L.I. SPEECH REALIZATION OF THE DISCOURSE IDEOLOGY OF A NEWS RADIO STATION (THE CASE OF “ECHO OF MOSCOW”) // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2014. Issue 10 (151). P. 145-152

The focus of the article is on the question of the discourse picture of the world of modern radio (radio station “Echo of Moscow”). The paper considers the ideological level of its axiological modeling, which is understood as a system of communicative norms, genre and theme making, and axiological attitudes within the boundaries of discourse. Meta-logical units reflected in the system of meta-linguistic and meta-discursive speech acts of journalists (hosts of analytical programs) are described as an implicit form of discourse ideology. The analysis revealed distinguishing features of the discursive communicative model of analytical segment of the radio: the synchronization of the author’s and the addressee`s positions is achieved through the communicative attitude of personal presentation of information (social issues). The discourse picture of the world is created at the intersection of external ideology of mass media discourse and internal, axiological positions of discourse agents – journalists, radio presenters. As a result, the picture of the world is reflected in a unique communicative and speech model of discourse manifested in the effects of both institutional and personal impact on the recipient.

In conditions of modern civilization with its characteristic trends towards globalization and informatization the sufficient level of native, non-native and foreign languages is required for the implementation of the important tasks of life (educational, professional, etc.). It is obvious that the media should be ready for appropriate and effective use of the resources of natural language, taking into account its linguocultural specificity. The solution of this task is subject to language training – carried out in the education system set of measures aimed at the development and improvement of language competence as a component of communicative competence of students, representing the level of development of their cognitive abilities and cultural content of the thesaurus. Language training usually begins with studying the development of norms, rules, grammatical structure of the native language, the formation of the skill of expression by means of oral and written language code, the ability to work with the text. Along with the improvement of linguistic competence in the use of the native language, further language training can be focused on the development of one or more foreign languages. The latter need to explain the requirements of the time, including the expansion of the social, economic and cultural contacts between the two countries, the inclusion of carriers in the global Internet communications. The article deals with the modern teaching technologies used in the practice of language training in order to increase the efficiency of formation and improvement of linguistic competence of both the Russian native speakers, and the inofons. The article presents the systematization and generalization of experience of professional activity of specialists – teachers, trainers and teachers of secondary and higher education, engaged in the teaching of the Russian language as a native, non-native and foreign language, as well as foreign languages in the regional educational institutions. Protasova N.V. COGNITIVE INTEREST DEVELOPMENT AMONG SENIOR SCHOOLCHILDREN OF PROFILE NON-HUMANITARIAN CLASSES IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE ACQUISITION // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2018. Issue 6 (195). P. 165-170

The article is devoted to the problem of cognitive interest development among senior schoolchildren of nonhumanitarian classes during the English language acquisition at a secondary school. The author draws attention to the fact that the newly formed scientific branches provide the emergence of new professions, change the system of school education and increase the development of cognitive interest among schoolchildren. The main idea of the present article is to demonstrate the necessity of learning English for senior schoolchildren, whose profile subjects are Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Mathematics, as new professions actively come into modern life. Foreign language is considered to be polysubject and can enrich senior schoolchildren of non–humanitarian profile with knowledge on Natural Science and Mathematics and develop their cognitive interest. The interest to a foreign language as a subject, in recent times, is explained by it’s penetrating into different spheres and nonlinguistic professions. Actually, spheres of using a foreign language are extended. According to the “Atlas of new professions”, to 2025–2035 many new professions occur, many of them will need the knowledge of a foreign language. Intersubject relations come into modern school education and really extend the zone of subject knowledge on profile because of the interpenetration of knowledge of different subjects. Integration of a foreign language with Science subjects and Mathematics gives the opportunity for schoolchildren to get new knowledge on profile subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Mathematics and others) and increase the development of cognitive interest among senior schoolchildren. We consider that intersubject integration increases schoolchildren’s motivation to learning foreign languages, develops different kinds of thinking, forms the following abilities – to analyze, to generalize, to synthesize, to compare, make conclusions and others.

Keywords: cognitive interest, cognitive motivation, intersubject, integration of humanitarian and natural science knowledge, new professions

Kim O.V. THE MILITARY FACTOR OF MODERNIZATION OF PRE-PERTINE RUSSIA IN THE MODERN ANGLOPHONE HISTORIOGRAPHY // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2012. Issue 3 (118). P. 81-86

In anglophone historiography the modernization in prepetrine Muscovy is considered as the result of the military reforms and the external influences. The sources of such effects were located in the West as well as in the East. The “military revolution” has been recognized as an important aspect of the historical transformation of the state and society. It has identified the development of the fiscal-military state. Whereas the process of the new military technologies translation went out from Europe, the Ottoman Empire and the Golden Horde passed out the autocratic political model “of the Service State” and the concept of the fiscal policy. In the estimates of foreign authors pre-Petrine military reforms were effective enough, but they have increased social and cultural gap between Europe and Russia.

Zhukova N.S., Babakina T.N. ON VARIABILITY OF THE MEANS OF EXPRESSION OF MODALITY OF POTENTIALITY AND WISH IN GOTHIC // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2015. Issue 4 (157). P. 13-16

The article focusses on the means of expression of modality of potentiality and wish in Gothic and a tendency that developed in its system has been determined. The tendency shows the function of expressing the meanings of possibility, necessity and wish from grammatical means, i. e. moods, transferring to the lexical ones, i. e. verbs. To explain this process, the “weakest” parts of the modal subsystem of Gothic are being established. They are involved in changes: these are optative, imperative and preterite-present verbs. The analysis of various “shades” of meaning of potentiality and wish, verbalised by the contemporary lexical and grammatical means allowed to establish semantic relations of variability between grammatical and lexical means as well as within the former ones thus it allowed to define the status of preterit-present verbs involved in the process of appearing modal verbs in Gothic as means expressing the internal modality.

Kolmogorova A.V., Varlamova O.N. PHONETIC AND PROSODIC FEATURES OF MOTHER’S SPEECH SPECIFIED BY THE SUTIATION OF AWAKING A CHILD // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2017. Issue 10 (187). P. 127-131

The following article studies phonetic and prosodic changes in mother’s speech. We consider that the situation of awaking a child preconditions these changes. We propose the role of a mother as socially relevant. Mother’s speech is an informational key to the system of a native language. Basing on Russian and the French language, we analyze qualitative and quantitative changes in consonants and vowels in lexical units of different parts of speech, as well as changes in tone and rate of mother’s utterances. We take into account such phonetic phenomena as longitude of a sound, palatalization of consonants, changes of values in tone. The changes of values in tone are illustrated by graphs. The material for analysis includes audio and video of recorded talk between mothers and their children (age from 0 to 10 months). The participants were divided into two groups: 1) Russian-speaking dyad “mother-child” (5 participants); 2) French-speaking dyad “mother-child” (4 participants). To undertake the analysis we applied computer software package for the scientific analysis of speech in phonetics called PRAAT. Resulting in setting minimal and maximal values in tone of analyzed utterances, correlation of longitude of a sound with tone and pragmatic meaning we conclude that these features of mother’s speech are universal for the situation of awaking a child.

Keywords: frequency of the basic tone, mother’s communication, socially relevant role of a mother, speech portrait, phonetic portrait

We might conclude that consonantal markers are characteristic of nouns of all three genders, therefore they didn’t relate to the grammatical category of gender, which was formed later. As the markers are rather old, the original meaning of them was connected with an earlier category – category of animateness/inanimateness, i.e. they were markers of animateness. Generation of the grammatical gender was connected with vowel markers.

The Early Indo-European language, being a language with the active structure, at the dawn of its history had the two-case paradigm. During the typological shift the former active case developed into the genitive, while the inactive case became the accusative. The nominative case developed from the genitive later, and the Indo-European and particularly Old German words with the meaning “tooth” have preserved some archaic features of the time when the nominative case did not perform the function of the subject.
