| 4670 | Adequate reproduction of the national-cultural color of the text is always at the center of the translation and accentuates the problem of the interrelation between language and culture. The translation of the works of the XIX century with the specific style and a large number of obsolete words and realities is complicated because of the need to preserve the historical color. The national coloring of the work is manifested in such elements of the text as the plot, characters, individual realities, which are the most “nationally” painted vocabulary, situations that at first glance do not have a pronounced national character. When translating, there is often a situation where cultural information, understandable to the native speaker, does not correspond to information contained in the target language. The analysis showed that in the English version of the story, the denotative meaning of the original language units is preserved in most cases. However, the connotative significance of realities is often lost, which damages the reproduction of the national color of the story. During the transfer, a significant part of the stylistic specificity of Gogol disappeared. The title of the cycle “Evenings in Little Russia”, which led to the change of the name of the stories (“An evening in May”, “Mid-summer evening”), removes the accent on the national color of Dikanka made by Gogol. Successful reception of preservation of national color can be considered transcription of realities and transfer of its content as a descriptive expression. In some parts of the text, in particular where appropriate equivalents are used, interpreters manage to convey the national flavor of the story, but in most cases the national color is lost. Keywords: national color, equivalence, non-equivalent lexis, realia, anthroponym | 1878 | |||||

| 4675 | The article attempts to determine the methodological approach to the study of literary constants in the framework of the interdisciplinary research on the border of cognitive linguistics and literary criticism. Literature is considered as one of the types of mental activity of a person, obeying the same laws as the other types of mental activity. It is believed that the textual study in the context of modern anthropocentric trends of Humanities should be displayed on the mental level. Therefore, we should conduct research with the involvement of the methodology of cognitive poetics. The unit of text analysis in this case is the artistic concept, which allows to track the process of formation of individual author's conceptosphere represented in the text. It is stated that there is the difference between an “artistic concept” and “сultural concept”, “conceptual art” and “artistic image” because the same artistic concept can receive representation through various images. Creation of a common terminology and a clear delineation of related concepts helps us to avoid mixing of methods and techniques of research, the receipt of erroneous conclusions. Due to concept as a literary category still is not fully understood, we believe that the development of methodology in conceptual analysis of literary constants is one of the primary tasks of modern philology. | 4677 | The article considers individual aspect of time perception. Firstly, a brief theoretical review of problem studies goes. Depending on mood and activity, personal time proceeds either quickly or slowly and it can be either pleasant or not. Positive emotions bring a deceptive impression of a fast flow of time. Negative emotions, on the contrary, subjectively lengthen the time intervals. The practical part examines around 30 modern English set expressions denoting time as perceived by a person. The conclusion says that the perception of time as short/long or pleasant/unpleasant is expressed in speech through fixed collocations used by authors of modern fiction. Short time is described in dictionary English set expressions as “fun” and “it flies”. Long time “hangs heavily on one’s hands.” Unpleasant time is “bad, hard, dark, evil, rough, thin, lean and it is not one’s own. Pleasant time is “good, easy, the best of one’s life, the time of one’s life, high and there’s a lot of it”. Pleasant time “has its moments, it is one’s finest hour and it makes one’s day”. Fiction authors’ creative thinking depicts bad time as “poor, awful, dreadful, horrible, terrible, very uncomfortable, devil of a time and hell of a bloody time”. Pleasant time is “nice, lovely, great, excellent, delightful, smashing, terrific, fantastic, marvelous, riotous, and dead good”. The considered aspect of a writer’s individual style of personal, timerelated vocabulary is worth further research. Keywords: idiom, set expression, subjective time, personal time, perception of time described by language units, English fiction, literary text | 1877 | |||||
| 4678 | The aim of work is to know how the project activity development dynamics of first-year students of psychological and pedagogical departments could be arranged and prove suggestions of project activity development levels: reproductive, productive, constructive. Based on the previous research and experience of working with future teachers, we suggest a hypothesis that in order to organize learning academic activity of children, a student needs to discover his/her own logic of pedagogical project, which, besides the commonly known project stages of idea – implementation – result also includes discovery of pedagogical principles as the main essence of professional knowledge instead of using a ready pattern. The content analysis method was used which collect data associates with the student’s ability to project activities. The work describes the results of the experiment in which participated 76 first-year students of the Institute of Pedagogy, Psychology and Sociology of the Federal State Autonomous Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education “Siberian Federal University”, including 52 students from two experimental groups of psycho-pedagogical direction and 24 students from the control group of pedagogical direction of training. The results show that the progress in project activity development of experimental group students differs significantly from the progress in project activity development of control group students.
