The artice discusses the role of lifelong learning for professional activity as a vital instrument providing both, current and perspective needs of labour market. Lifelong learning fulfills three main functions – professional, social and personal. One of the ways to deliver such kind of education is involving professional development programs, which can be delivered through in-service training in various formats (distant, face-to-face, autonomous learning). These programs can be arranged within various timescales with regard to government regulations and employer requirements. In addition, the staff participating in design, elaboration and implementation of these programs should meet the latest professional requirements in their area. It is suggested that professional competence among academics as people functioning like conductors between industrial sector and adult learners is of vital importance. For that reason, special attention is drawn to the programs for academics and doctoral training. As an illustrative example, the experience of participating in a PhD program at the University of Sheffield (UK) is described. This program is characterized as highly individualized, which leads to sufficient outcomes among learners. Along with that, the authors propose to borrow key aspects from Sheffield experience and adapt them for doctoral training in Russia. Finally, urgent problems in academics development are outlined, further steps and solutions are offered.

Snegireva Liudmila Illarionovna EVACUATION OF THE POPULATION FROM STALINGRAD TO THE SIBERIAN REAR AREA IN THE YEARS OF THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR (1942) // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2018. Issue 3 (192). P. 174-185

The author makes an attempt to make a share of contribution to the research of the pivotal component of the problem of civic population evacuation – the evacuation of population from Stalingrad and the accommodation of the evacuees at the Siberian land. The article shows the peculiarities and hardships of the situation of the city of Stalingrad, which became the centre of evacuation processes in the South of the country due to its geographical and economical situation, transport development. The paper gives the analysis of the reasons for the belatedness of the mass evacuation held in the city, evacuation of the highly qualified cadres and their families, the ways of solving complex problems of accommodation of the arrivals form Stalingrad in Siberia. The paper makes a special emphasis on the issue as the specialists from Stalingrad arrived in order to build the large plant Transmash, which was to produce diesel engines for tanks, the production of which had been terminated at the Stalingrad Tractor Plant. The papers shows the system of measures undertaken for solving this accommodation problem, highlights that it required the development of the special plan, creation of staging points, organizations of food, medical and social services, mobilization of transport organizations. In spite of many hardships the task of providing the arrived people and their families with living accommodations was solved.

This paper deals with dark and phantom energy in the tachyon and sub-quantum models tor dark energy. We obtain that the simplest condition for such a regime to occur in these scenarios Is that the scalar field be Wick rotated to imaginary values which correspond to an axionic field classically. By introducing analytical expressions for the scale factor or the Hubble parameter that satisfy all constraint equations of the used models we show that such models describe universes which develop a big rip singularity in the finite future.

Complex structure of the genre of Erdman’s play “Suicide” is analyzed in the context of the classical examples of the tragedy with suicide. Traditional motives of suicide in Western drama are fault redemption, a desperate situation, honor, love, search for death as a form of “hidden suicides”. Russian Drama of the 19th century transfers motive of suicide from tragedy to a tragic farce or to “a comedy with suicide” by entering the motives “shammer of dead” and “unmotivated” suicide, which complicates the genre and distorts the mechanism of genre expectations. Reduction of the classical models and their rethinking take place in “Suicide” by Erdman, who created a rare genre – parody to tragedy.

Planning, including lessons’ planning, is an integral and meaningful component of the teacher’s professional methodical training. In the context of the implementation of the Federal State Educational Standards (FSES) in the system of secondary education, the training of future teachers in lessons planning is substantially updated and acquires special significance. Teachers that carry out this training should take into account and critically comprehend both positive innovations and shortcomings in the standards, be able to scientifically interpret them, explain to students the possibilities of minimizing the methodological shortcomings of FSES; know contemporary scientific and practical achievements on problems of planning lessons in a specific subject area; to apply methodically adequate and effective methods of training on planning. This article is devoted to teaching the planning of a foreign language lesson in the context of FSES as a scientific-methodical problem. Some critical remarks concerning FSES are mentioned; the results of methodical studies on the implementation of foreign language education in the context of FSES are summarized, the scientific-methodical problems of teaching the planning of the foreign language lesson in accordance with the requirements of FSES in the framework of methodical training are described, and the tasks of this training on ensuring the quality of training for lesson planning are formulated. The article outlines the problems that, in the opinion of the author of this article, require methodical comprehension and solution.

Then the experience of preparing and holding a game with senior school pupils is described. Schoolchildren translated limericks from English into Russian and pointed out basic schemes of their own activity. Translations were presented and analyzed as derivatives of certain lines of approach to translation - word for word and sense for sense. The norm of translation activity was practiced.

The paper outlines the types of discourse-pragmatic functions and kinds of propositional-semantic content associated with the Loc-marked Agent constructions in Eastern Khanty. Selected methodology includes contrastive morpho-syntactic and contextual analysis of the narrative corpus, attending to the information structure and linguistic meta-data. Based on discourse analysis, it is hypothesized, that a wide cognitive faculty facilitating the structuring of information and specifying the roles of the participants, governs the choice of grammatical means, i.e. the construction types. It follows from the analysis of pragmatic, semantic and grammatical features of interacting discourse participants that specific system’s grammatical resources identify with certain pragmatic-semantic properties. The Loc-Agent constructions are prototypically used to express the events with more than one argument with competing topicality. The Loc-Agent constructions (agented passive and “ergative”) manifest a parenthetical shift in centrality of the discourse referents, where a secondary topic referent is competing with the primary agentive topic. This is expressed by temporary promotion of the secondary topical referent to the Loc-marked S grammatical relation. N.V. Polyakova. The article analyses one of the essential issues of general typology and turkology: actionality through the example of the moribund Chulym Turkic language. Based on the author's fi eld data a conclusion is made that the processes of forming grammatical meanings of tense forms from aktionsart polyverbal constructions in Chulym Turkic are still dynamic; whereas the aktionsart characteristics of the polyverbal constructions are expressed differently in different Chulym Turkic sub-dialects.

The paper presents research of the frequent lexical items in early short stories by V. Nabokov. The study is based on defi ning the lexical-thematic groups in the texts. Having analysed the structure of the groups, the ratio of the more frequent lexical units to the less frequent ones and the correlation between the lexical items, we have made a number of conclusions which could facilitate understanding the author's artistic worldview.

Developing the methodology adapted for studying museum audience is quite a vital issue for the progress of museology in modern Russia. The students of Tomsk State Pedagogical University received the results of interrogation in August of 2012 on the Kizhi Island in the Republic of Karelia. This is meant to be a continuation to a series of the author’s publications devoted to the problems of teaching English as a second foreign language in a linguistic university (after German). The basic message which comes across from them is that there is a high correlation between the two foreign languages, what makes third language acquisition different in all aspects of teaching and learning processes. Here, we also briefly summarize the findings of a few studies that we have carried out, and take them a step further. This time we look at a fundamental problem for language pedagogy – principles that are applied in teaching a second foreign language. Hence, we refer to other writing on this subject, i.e. the existing classifications of basic principles viewed though through the component structure of professional competence of the linguist-teacher. So in surveying the factors determining the process of teaching and learning English after German (the peculiarities of the linguistic and ethnographic material; the peculiarities of the target group; the conditions of teaching and learning a second foreign language) we have tried to work out some principles that are supposed to be specific for the analyzed conditions: the principle of foundation and complementary connection with the first foreign language; the principle of constructive cooperation of the teacher and students; the principle of the spiral progression that implements the idea of intensification and extensification of third language acquisition.
