The state and private initiatives directed to the increase of financial literacy of citizens are being solved in different ways in many countries. For Russia an appeal to the international experience in improving financial literacy is very topical. The greatest interest represents foreign experience of those countries in which programs on financial literacy have proved the efficiency. The information-educational products directed to the increase of financial literacy of the population, are considered on an example of the USA and Poland, having interesting approaches and methodical materials. In the USA the projects and programs directed to increase of level of financial literacy of the population, are financed basically by a private sector with support of the state and public initiatives. Financial education in the USA is based on partnership of the organisations of all patterns of ownership and all levels of the power. In Poland state financing of such programs prevails. And the Central bank of the country is their initiator. Educational programs are constructed on the private-state partnership with consolidated financing of events for financial literacy. World experience is useful to Russia from the point of view of the organizational aspects, use of various techniques and educational resources.

The article shows the specifics of the functioning of economic concepts of the media, carried out by an intermediary between reality as a mass audience and as a powerful tool for influencing readers’ minds. Mass-media not only inform readers, but frequently refract, transform events and facts, allocate with their varied assessments, impose this or that vector of their perception and interpretation. One of the ways of similar transformation of validity in mediadiscourse is metaphor. The object of the research is one of the most meaningful concepts of economic area – concept «inflation», the subject – a specific character of its metaphorical representation in the Russian mediadiscourse of XXI century. As the material of mediatexts’ research (2000-2015), presented in newspaper subcorpus the National corpus of Russian Language have served. During the analysis anthropomorphic, zoomorphic, naturemorphic, military, sports, mechanistic metaphorical models were revealed and described, their role in creation of an image of inflation in consciousness of ordinary native speakers was established, the pragmatic potential of the given models was established, the assessments of inflation shaped by mass-media are revealed. The analysis has shown, that at the given economic stage inflation in Russia is estimated by national massmedia mainly negatively, confirming this metaphorical representation of this concept, as well as its contextual environment. Inflation is metaphorically characterized as a certain subject or object, impeding to normal functioning of a society. It may be a gluttonous essence, «eating» savings of citizens with extreme speed, an invincible soldier beating the poor, a sprinter who starts at high speed and carries away behind itself the prices, a dispersed mechanism which is practically not responding to levers constraining it, destructive elements. Thus, such properties of inflation as uncontrolled, destructive influence on economy, are underlined by the need for serious economic transformations to overcome inflation.

The mathematical phenomenon includes the mathematical concept, the system of axioms, theorem, method, algorithm, etc. The purpose of this research is determination of all the options of perception to the mathematical phenomenon relevant for the education system and identifying some of the learning features for each of these options. A set of three postulates is chosen (the postulate on the priority result of educational and mathematical activity, the postulate of the didactic relevance of the components of activity, the postulate of the priority component of educational and mathematical activity). It is shown that if these postulates are implemented from the didactic point of view, then only two variants of the relation to mathematical phenomena are applicable: 1) the mathematical phenomenon as the subject of activity (in particular, as information to be memorized); 2) mathematical phenomenon as a tool of activity. The study of the mathematical phenomenon always begins in a situation when this phenomenon acts as an object of activity. However, to form a view of this phenomenon, the teacher must create conditions, the learning environment in which the learner naturally desires to consider this phenomenon as an instrument of activity. The examples of reflection of these variants of relationship in theory and practice of teaching mathematics are given. It is pointed out that for the students to take a mathematical phenomenon as a versatile phenomenon associated with other mathematical and non-mathematical phenomena, it is necessary that both variants of the relation to the mathematical phenomenon should be represented in the educational process.

The concepts of professional and communicative competencies of future economists are revealed. Characteristics of the professional competence types are given which ensure the fundamentality of the training of future economists in accordance with the federal state standard of higher education. The necessity of forming these modern specialists’ competencies for their professional self-realization and interaction with foreign partners is grounded. The functional purpose of the course of teaching a foreign language as part of the general training of future specialists of a nonlinguistic institution is defined. The influence of a foreign language on improving the professional skills of future economists is substantiated. The structure of effective characteristics of their professional training is specified. The system of activities, represented in this article, is aimed at training students to proofread writing. The ability to identify errors is of high priority for a future teacher of foreign languages. This will help students acquire and master necessary professional skills and will introduce the idea of language norm, as well as develop the ability to analyze and generalize information. Evaluating the quality of a written text can be done in an effective way by the knowledge of proofreading exercises. These exercises can really help students only if they are conducted in an organized manner and the students practice them consistently. The system of activities introduced in this article is designed for teaching students proofreading and includes four units. The Introduction acquaints students with the symbols, used for marking errors and provides first training. The Practice includes different in-class activities, such as peer evaluation, proofreading students’ own texts and games. In the Assessment part the author suggests the criteria for evaluating students’ proofreading skills. Some ideas for Creative Work are offered. The content of each unit is revealed in the article. Getting students to recognize problems in their writing is an important challenge which is best dealt with in class exercises. However, the author considers the possibility of students’ individual work, providing they are acquainted with proofreading techniques.

The consistent tendencies towards the standardization of education result in the implementation of language standards in different countries and regions of the world. The conditions of their emergence and functioning define the language conventions specified in the standards as the basis of foreign language learners’ linguistic competence. The language of coursebooks of English is considered to be the source for their linguistic experts’ evaluation. The language standards being used to evaluate the coursebooks lead on to developing a set of criteria for such an evaluation including the area of cross-cultural communication and communication strategies in general as well as the acquisition of concrete lexical, grammatical and functional units of language.
