Miklukho Y.Y. THE CONCEPT OF ART IN W. STEWENS’S CREATIVE WORK // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2017. Issue 2 (179). P. 77-81

The article considers some questions of esthetics of Wallace Stevens, one of the leading American poetsmodernists of the XX century, whose work remains almost not studied by the Russian literary criticism. Russianspeaking reception of his work appears in some works of G. Kruzhkov. A. Genis today talks about the specifics of his poetry, the difficulties of translation, etc. Among other things, G. Kruzhkov is the author of a number of Russian translations of poems by Stevens. The identified reference points are there in the aesthetic program of the author, among which the particular importance is attached to understanding art and the determination of the place of the poet and poetry in the modern world. The origins of his creative method are based on the works of Russian researchers of the Steven’s poetry. This method synthesizes the searches of European poetry of the XIX–XX centuries. Conclusions are made about the complexity of the aesthetic concept of the American author, as well as about its value and relevance for contemporary art and science. The aim of this article is to clarify the question about the status of the Russian-speaking reception of the creative heritage of William Stevens, who played a very prominent role in the literary life of the United States in the first half of the twentieth century and to contribute a better understanding of the literary and cultural process which takes place in the United States of America, as well as deeper penetration into the specifics of Stevens’ work.

Kokhonova K.E. PERIODIZATION OF THE BORROWING PROCESS OF CHINESE ORIGIN LEXICAL UNITS IN THE ENGLISH LITERARY LANGUAGE SYSTEM // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2019. Issue 7 (204). P. 96-104

Introduction. At the present stage of the development of linguistics as a science, no common criteria have been developed that would be applicable to all the languages in order to distinguish the periods of their historical development. This is due to the significant differences between literary languages at all, as well as the lack of a common opinion of researchers on this issue. The development of a certain periodization is intended to regulate the accumulated theoretical knowledge of the changes that occurred at different stages of the formation of a literary language. English literary language has the status of a language of international communication and is heterogeneous in its nature. In its vocabulary there are layers of borrowings from many other languages. The borrowing process, in turn, is ambiguous, and also needs a detailed description. Speaking about the layer of Chinese borrowings in the system of the English language, it should be noted that this structural part of the language system has its peculiar features determined by fundamental sociocultural differences between the European countries as a whole and the countries of Asia. The peculiarities of Chinese borrowings are closely connected with the evolution of the recipient language, therefore it is important to consider the periodization of the borrowing process in the context of the two cultures’ interaction. The aim of the paper is to suggest a certain periodization of the borrowing process of lexical units of Chinese origin in the system of the English literary language, taking into account the system and historical parameters of this borrowing layer. Material and methods. The borrowing process is the result of the interaction of languages over a definite period of time. Today, the number of languages that are not affected by foreign influence is minimal. On this basis, borrowing process seems to be one of the inherent phenomena peculiar to the language system at various points of its historical development. The evolution of the language, in turn, is determined by both linguistic and extralinguistic factors. The latter are the socio-cultural basis, which, in many respects, determines the linguistic side of the changes occurring in the language in different time intervals. By its nature, language is a social phenomenon; therefore, the description of its system requires an approach that is able to fully reflect the characteristic features of the various stages, which also includes an understanding of the cultural and historical environment of language functioning. Results and discussion. The existing periodization of the English literary language is considered. The correlation between the temporal division of the language history into stages and the language situation typical for each of them is revealed. The criteria for distinguishing periods in the process of borrowing lexical units of Chinese origin in the system of the English literary language have been developed: 1. language situation, 2. type of borrowing, 3. diversity of intermediate languages, 4. equivalence. Based on these criteria, the periodization of the borrowing process of lexical units from Chinese is proposed: Chinese borrowings of the Early period (XVII-XVIII centuries), Chinese borrowings of the Middle period (XIX century up to 1978) and Chinese borrowings of the Modern period (1978 – present time). Within the three periods listed above, the scientific novelty is represented by the development of a new set of criteria determining the periodization of the borrowing process for lexical units of Chinese origin. The description of borrowings in the system of the English literary language in the role of a recipient language is given considering the language situation as a significant factor for the development along with the traditionally accepted temporal criterion. Conclusion. The developed periodization allows structuring the layer of borrowed lexical units of Chinese origin in accordance with the peculiarities of the English literary language (recipient language) at different stages of its historical development. Taking the sociocultural factor into account contributes to creating a more complete picture of the language system evolution. The materials of the current research have both theoretical and practical value and can be applied to developing university courses and teaching such disciplines as English grammar, phonetics, stylistics, lexicology, sociolinguistics, history of English, intercultural communication, also in teaching theory and practice of translation.

Ivanov E.A., Zupnik B.M. AUXILIARY SUPERFIELDS IN N = 2 BORN-INFELD THEORY // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2014. Issue 12 (153). P. 103-108

Some time ago the authors proposed a new approach to self-dual electrodynamics and its superextensions, based on introducing auxiliary (super)fields which ensure linearization of the duality transformations. In the talk this universal method is applied for analysis of the self-duality properties of the N = 2 Born-Infeld (BI) action with the nonlinearly realized “hidden” N = 4 supersymmetry. Its self-duality is proved up to the 10th order in the superfield strengths. The conjecture about the general structure of the N = 2 BI action modified by the auxiliary chiral superfields is put forward.

Voytovich I.K. INFORMATIZATION OF FOREIGN LANGUAGE EDUCATION IN HIGH SCHOOL: MILESTONES AND ACADEMIC RESULTS // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2014. Issue 8 (149). P. 51-55

The article describes the experience of the informatization of foreign language education at the university. Five stages of this process resulted in the generated information and communication competence of teachers, development of e-learning courses based on different technologies and e-learning formats. The author shows that the computerization of education is a long-term, continuous and consistent process that requires systemic and stakeholder actions both on the part of the administration of the university and its faculty. In practice, it was verified that in a weak material and technical base the informatization of education can and should begin with professional development of teachers in ICT. In the course of this study it was also proved that hybrid or blended learning technology, combining traditional face-to-face classes with remote access to electronic educational resources, is preferable in teaching foreign languages.

Petrova N.G. THE PECULIARITIES OF THE CONCEPT “SOLITUDE” IN K. D. BALMONT’S POETIC DISCOURSE // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2017. Issue 7 (184). P. 61-65

The article studies the peculiarities of the concept “solitude” on the basis of K. D. Balmont’s poetic discourse which is represented by the books of poems “Burning Buildings” (1900), “Only Love” (1903). The concept under review occupies one of the highest places in the poet’s poetic worldview. The analysis of the concept is based on the position of V. I. Karasik, who distinguishes the figurative, conceptual and value components in the structure of the concept. It is established that the concept “solitude” is mainly explicitly represented by the lexeme “one” in a poetic discourse of K. D. Balmont. Such lexical regulative units as lexical regulative chains and lexical regulative structures based on syntactic parallelism as a particular case of repetition play a very important part in the formation of the concept. It allows us to consider these types of lexical regulative units as concept-forming. It is found out that K. D. Balmont’s lyric character scarcely experiences negative emotions about his spiritual solitude (solitude-privacy). Moreover, he consciously aspires to it. It is approved that the concept “solitude” is implicitly associated with such concepts as “desert”, “soul”, “God” and “freedom”. The connection between the concept “solitude” and the concepts “God” and “desert” is traditional whereas the connection between the concept “solitude” and the concepts “freedom” and “soul” has a completely individual authorial character.

The modern communicational landscape of education has been defined: the aspect of communication is regarded as one of the factors of education development. The authors emphasize the issue of searching for new approaches towards organizing educational communication by a teacher according to the objectives defined by the modern landscape of education. The article presents the results of an educational experiment that light upon the issue of defining and designing new communicative scenario for a teacher in class. The analysis of the experiment draws upon the phenomenological description of the case of communication organized in a university class. On the basis of the analysis of the experiment case and the experiment transcript, the authors define three possible communicative scenarios for a teacher: the didactic scenario (the traditional one: a teacher is the source and the regulator of communication in class), the ‘teacher is out’ scenario (a teacher leaves the front stage of a class through rejecting his / her traditional communicational functions), and the blended scenario (a teacher as a co-participant of communication).

Lozhkina T.Y. INTEGRATION PROCESSES IN VOCATIONAL TRAINING OF MEDICAL SPECIALISTS THROUGH A MENTORING SYSTEM // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2019. Issue 8 (205). P. 61-70

Introduction. At present, the study of integration of education, its types and forms is relevant both for the development of the entire educational system and its part, – vocational education. The goal of integration in the system of vocational education is the goal of achieving international standards for the training of specialists in accordance with the international standards of Worldskills. For the vocational education system, integration and mentoring are essentially the real mechanisms that will lead the vocational education system to achieve the targeted results planned in the national project. As shown by many years of experience in implementation, it brings great benefits for such professions of paramedical workers as a nurse, paramedic, and midwife. In the formation of future medical workers, the role of a mentor, his personal and professional portrait plays one of the leading roles for the formation of a holistic image of a future medical specialist and the formation of the further professional path of a young specialist. After all, a medical professional must possess not only professional skills, be able to perform medical manipulations, but also possess professionally essential personality traits. Material and methods. The content of the article reflects a theoretical analysis of the scientific problem posed, the empirical data of experimental activities on the modernization of the mentoring system and its use to integrate the activities of Tomsk Basic Medical College and several enterprises interested in highly qualified graduates are summarized. Introduction. The dialogue of Russian and Western European literature, translations of foreign texts and their assimilation in the host culture, the creation of national world images – all these issues are relevant in modern literary criticism, translation studies, and country studies. The aesthetic principles of S. Ya. Marshak in translating the poetry and prose of the Italian writer J. Rodari correspond to his concept of translation-portrait and organically fit into the history of Russian and Italian literature for children in the middle of the 20th century. The purpose of the article is seen in the disclosure of the relationship between the principles of Marshak-translator and their refraction in translations of poetry and prose by J. Rodari, addressed to the child reader. Material and methods. The material of the study is critical articles by S. Ya. Marshak, poems by G. Rodari “What do crafts smell like?”, “Venice” and the prose story-tale “The Adventures of Cipollino”, translated by Z. M. Potapova and edited by S. Ya. Marshak. The work uses receptive and imagological approaches, comparative-typological, comparative-historical and comparative-comparative methods, as well as contextual and content analysis of Rodari’s original works and their Russian counterparts-translations. Results and discussion. There are different types of translations – “address” translation by K. I. Chukovsky, “translation-portrait” and translation-editing by S. Ya. Marshak. In accordance with the poetics of Italian poetry for children and the Italian literary fairy tale, S. Ya. Marshak’s translations of G. Rodari’s poems and the translation-retelling of the story “The Adventures of Cipollino” are analyzed. The folklore origins of Italian children’s literature are revealed, the connection of the fairy tale about the onion boy with the traditions of “commedia dell’arte” and with a fairy tale, the features of the reader’s perception of the child are revealed, the “double” aesthetic position of the author writing for children is comprehended: “adult” consciousness, resurrecting in itself the consciousness and worldview of the child. The translation principles of S. Ya. Marshak-poet and S. Ya. Marshak-prose writer are considered and compared. The role of the works of G. Rodari in the formation of Russian-Italian literary and cultural relationships and in the formation of Russian literature for children is emphasized. Conclusion. The closeness of the translation principles of J. Rodari and S. Ya. Marshak is analyzed, the correlation of the translation strategies of the Russian author with the traditions of Russian translated literature is clarified. The role of S. Ya. Marshak and M. Gorky in the opening of the State Publishing House of Children’s Literature in 1933 is revealed. The circle of writers who laid the foundations of Soviet literature for children in the first half of the 20th century is determined. The connection between the translation principles of S. Ya. Marshak and the concept of modern adaptive translation by G. M. Kruzhkov is revealed. For the completeness of the reception of Russian literature for children, the article by M. I. Tsvetaeva “On the new Russian children’s book” is used.
