| 1562 | The article discusses one of the most urgent applied problems of language teaching: the creation of didactic materials of a new generation based on information and communication technologies (ICT) and the Internet. First of all, we consider the already existing experience in using ICT and the Internet in education in the USA and Western Europe, where the process to introduce digital technologies in education started much earlier than in Russia. The review of experience of introducing this kind of training materials into practice provides grounds for asserting that the use of ICT and Internet technologies in developing teaching materials creates new opportunities and also new (not yet fully studied) difficulties. It is shown that the means of presenting information (and, therefore, its format) impacts the nature of information processing, assimilation and retention: digital texts are much less fully and accurately comprehended by readers than texts in the traditional format (printed on paper). This is due to the psycho-physiological and psychological mechanisms of perception and comprehension of text information given on paper and on the monitor screen. Further, processing a digital text causes the reading activity itself to be transformed. Now the complete set of reading skills, needed for in-depth processing of information, independent text analysis, is not required. Finally, the norms of organization of texts posted on the Web are changing. “Traditional” texts (including classical scientific, literary texts), constructed according to other models, cannot be fully perceived and comprehended from the monitor screen. The above-mentioned difficulties in a number of cases (for example, when teaching extensive and intensive reading) become a serious obstacle to the realization of teaching objectives. Understanding the emerging problems allows us to formulate new methodological challenges a teacher faces when preparing e-learning courses on extensive and intensive reading for foreign students, and also to suggest some practical steps aimed at solving these problems. Keywords: electronic educational resource, information and communication technologies, Internet technologies, reading teaching, extensive and intensive reading | 1709 | |||||

| 1568 | It has been found that intravenous administration of cannabinoids (ACPA, anandamide, methanandamide) solubilized in the mixture (cremophore EL : ethanol : 0,9% NaCl, 1:1:18) and Tocris water soluble emulsion of the same cannabinoids induced a completely identical negative chronotropic effect in chloralose-anesthetized rats. The selective CB1 and CB2 receptor agonist HU-210 (0.1 mg/kg) also induced a negative chronotropic effect in rats. Pretreatment with the CB1 receptor antagonist SR141716A (1 mg/kg) completely abolished this effect of HU-210. The CB2 receptor antagonist SR144528 (1 mg/kg) had no effect on the HU-210-induced bradycardia. Pretreatment with the ganglion blocker hexamethonium (10 mg/kg) also did not eliminate a negative chronotropic effect of HU-210 and ACPA. A 10-min perfusion of isolated rat heart by Krebs-Heseleit solution containing HU-210 in a final concentration 100 nM/L induced a decrease in the heart rate. It has been concluded that negative chronotropic effect of cannabinoids is mediated via an activation of cardiac CB1 receptors. Keywords: cannabinoids, heart rhythm | 1708 | |||||

| 1576 | The article analyses a topological aspectof ambivalent functioning of ame slave mythologeme in journalism and artistic prose of authors pertaining to different generations of the first wave of the Russian emigration (N. Teffi, I. Ehrenburg, G. Adamovich, A. Kuprin, N. Berberova). An ironic modus of ame slave (being a variant of a Western representation of the Other) in the works of émigré writers does not negate semantic significance of a cultural code conceptualizing a problem of a person’s self-identification in the alien cultural space. Those having the mysterious Slavic soul had different attitudes to attempts of external definition of their mentality. There is a wide range of impressions, from a serious and unconditional acceptance as a given fact (demonstrated by I. S. Shmelyov) to an ironic play upon a meaningless cliché of a mass consciousness (N. Lossky, I. Ehrenburg). Teffi devoted almost all of her writings of the émigré period to parody-like incomprehension of the Western world and mentality on behalf of the ame slave. Her story of the same name (L’ame slave, 1927) contains two tales of excessive Russian trust and marvelous capacity for self-deceit. A somewhat more complex embodiment of the mysterious Slavic soul one may find in the works of Aleksandr Kuprin (The Wheel of Time and Jeannette) and Nina Berberova (Roquenval and Astashev in Paris) where the authors use it to explore issues of émigré existence and national identity.
