| 4254 | The article deals with the method of “total immersion” of a foreigner as a secondary language personality in speech and wider – communicative – media environment. In modern linguistics, the method is defined as one of the most efficient, allowing a carrier to master a second language and effectively form lingvocultural competence. The key thesis is the one on the necessity of combining classroom training aimed at developing understanding of the language system, and study of the functioning of the language elements in a spontaneous conversational communication. Proves the expediency of development of alien non-literary (for example, slang) units of modern language, actively functioning in the speech of the Russian people. It is noted that in view of the principles of appropriateness and ethical permissibility of the use of jargon in the speech of secondary language person achieved the result, optimizing the overall intercultural communication. Jargon, becoming the the subject of exploration of alien units has linguocultural properties since, including their means of familiarizing media carried a foreign language to the Russian linguistic culture. Introducing an alien not only to literature, but also to the resources of the modern Russian colloquial language extends the communication possibilities of the language person in the space of multicultural interaction, has a strong educational value for the formation of a tolerant and respectful attitude towards representatives of other cultures and mentalities, learns to be responsible for the spoken word, to assess each situation in terms of the interaction of ethical and national communication standards. | 4255 | Anthropocentric approach is currently very relevant in studying of language and culture. According to this approach the person appears to be the central reference point in measurement and description of objects of the surrounding reality. The question of spatial orientation is not quite studied at the moment in the Selkup culture which owing to its originality is of special interest for consideration. The article is devoted to studying of the above-stated question through the “prism” of a human body. Having carried out the linguistic analysis of names of parts of a human body it has been revealed that a human being is considered to be a focal point in view of the Selkups both in plane (horizontal) division of space and in vertical. Somonims are used by representatives of the Selkup ethnos to describe positions of parts of objects in space. Thus, somatic vocabulary is revealed to denote upper, lower, front, back, side and inner parts of objects. Moreover, some of them changed their grammatical category into postpositions and are currently used to describe the movements against parts of objects having certain position in space, i.e. the movements against the upper, lower, front, back and side parts of objects and the movement oriented inside. | 4256 | Today due to advances in science and technology communication of people around the world is expanding and becoming easier. Undoubtedly, the only means of global communication and understanding between speaking or writing people, is the language. Therefore, the study of foreign languages for all sectors of society, including pupils, students, scientists, businessmen, engineers and doctors, is very important. In recent years, in the Islamic Republic of Iran teaching of English and other languages for people with hearing impairments has improved considerably, but still there are a number of problems in this area in institutions, schools and universities in the country. Firstly, the hearing impaired are taught only the English language, and secondly, the imperfection of methods of teaching leads to a decrease in interest of this category of students in learning a foreign language. It is necessary to reform the methods of teaching deaf and hard of hearing people to a foreign language, which will result in increased interest in learning a foreign language and expanding the diversity of the languages studied. This work is the first study on the methods of teaching the Russian language for the deaf and hard of hearing at the elementary level in Iran. | 4257 | Introduction. It is suggested that V. Nabokov’s story “The Spy” (1930) largely grows out of his drama “Death” (1923), which remains on the periphery of the interest of the researchers of Nabokov’s fiction. The grounds for comparing the works are found, first of all, at the plot level: the hero’s attempt at suicide and the experience of imaginary death. The aim is to compare the plot situations of imaginary death in the drama “Death” and the story “The Spy” in order to reveal the change in the author’s attitude to the mystification of his own life by a person, moreover, to the possibility of metaphysical (post-death) reality. Material and methods. The article examines the early V. Nabokov’s drama “Death”, which is close to the symbolist drama, and the story “The Spy”, which reflects the creative maturation of the writer. The research is based on the comparative historical method, as well as on the provisions of E. Erickson (personal identity) and V. I. Tyupa (narrative identity). Results and discussion. The author reveals a different interpretation of a similar plot situation: the situation of imaginary death outlined in “Death”, in “The Spy” is plotted, the author’s attention is focused on how a modern person will behave in a situation of freedom from previous conditions of existence. In Death, the hero in an attempt at suicide turns out to be an object of manipulation by another, and in The Spy, the hero performs lynching and himself mystifies further events. For both heroes, imaginary death brings imaginary freedom: but for a person with a romantic outlook it is an opportunity to free themselves from the crisis and acquire an identity (“Death”), and for an intact person of modern civilization – liberation from ethical boundaries in the ability to change identities in observing himself as another narration, and in the stories-hoaxes of the character about himself (“The Spy”). But according to Nabokov, rewriting oneself, playing with fate are doomed to failure. The finale of both works is the heroes’ awareness of their imaginary death and their freedom, but for the hero of the drama this is spiritual death, and the hero of the story renounces self-identity and assumes the position of a “spy” – self-observation while refusing moral responsibility. Conclusion. The conclusion is made about Nabokov’s concept of human existence, which is associated, first of all, with visual perception, the ability to see. Nabokov denies a person the opportunity to comprehend the essence of posthumous existence, the modality of vision is negative: imagination-composition is destroyed by the vision of reality. Keywords: V. Nabokov, “Death”, “The Spy”, identity crisis, the situation of imaginary death | 1872 | |||||
| 4258 | Introduction. Due to the fact that the modern world is changing almost at lightning speed, many researchers, comparing the competencies formed in educational institutions and necessary later in practice, seeing the gap between them growing, try to predict in advance the “professions” and the corresponding “competencies of the future”. The list of competencies is being modified, refined and supplemented constantly. The aim is to identify the features of the information system for supporting the educational process university, aimed at forming students’ competencies of the future. Material and methods. To solve the tasks set, the following research methods were used. studies: theoretical (study and analysis of literature, comparative analysis of existing E-Learning systems (Moodle, WebTutor, Sakai, IBM, Competentum, Prometheus, Mirapolis), modeling, generalization definition and concretization); empirical (observation, questioning, testing, analysis of products of educational student activities); mathematical methods for processing the results of experimental work. The study was conducted in the 2019–2021 academic year at the Tyumen State University. Students from the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities took part in the experimental work, Institute of State and Law, Institute of Psychology and Pedagogy, students studying in individual evocative trajectories. Results and discussion. The result of the work was the definition of the basic requirements for the information system for the support of the educational process: the possibility of studying disciplines at several levels of development, which is essential for the implementation of the concept of individual educational technologies; filling the system with holistic educational content that takes into account interdisciplinary connections and the logical sequence of the presentation of the material, its practical orientation; a wide range of mechanisms (indicators) that determine the quality of learning of educational material and the dynamics of the formation of competencies, based on the impulse (clip, fragmented) transfer of knowledge; the presence of constant, maximally informative feedback that allows the teacher to respond promptly to the process and results of students’ work by changing the ways of presenting the material and its content; possibility of communication between all participants of the educational process; increasing motivation and involvement of students by providing a comprehensive mechanism of immersion in the educational process using elements of gamification, activation of reflexive processes, social interaction, intersection with “live practice”. Conclusion. The work carried out made it possible to identify some ways of developing the capacity of existing information systems for supporting the educational process of the university to build individual educational trajectories of students and the formation of “competencies of the future”. | 4273 | Introduction. The focus of this paper is the observation and comparison of several symbolic connotations of British and Slavic basic color terms. Aim and objectives. The paper’s aim is to discuss cultural and linguistic commonalities and peculiarities of a few color terms and prepare educational resource for different disciplines, such as English, Russian as a foreign language, ethnolinguistic and linguacultural studies. Material and methods. This paper observes British and Slavic idioms with the component ‘color’ in its connotative meaning. A cross-disciplinary approach helps identify the essential place of color terms in interpreting linguistic picture of the world and emphasizes the integrative role of culture. We consolidate with ideas of L. Bloomfield and J. Lyons concerning connotative meaning in linguistic semantics. Results and discussion. Connotative meanings of color terms often become cultural symbols and serve as signs of some abstract concepts. Since color perceptions relate to the sensory sphere, they are easily transferred to the characteristics of emotions, dignity of character, behavior, appearance. Interpretation of color terms in their connotative meanings will provide insight into the national mentality. Connotative meanings reflect individualized situations based on national cultural values and norms of social life. In provided examples the basic meaning of a color term is becomingusually narrower. Conclusion. The comparative analysis of connotations of five color terms leads to following conclusions: 1) color is able to evoke certain emotions traced in languages in the form of idioms containing a color component; 2) differences in the semantic structure of color connotations in English and Russian are due to national and cultural peculiarities; 3) etymology of color terms and historical facts sometimes make it possible to establish the dependence of a symbol on practice; 4) the main (perhaps the most universal) source of color terms are natural objects with a characteristic color. | 4279 | Social and domestic background of the short novel “Stroybat” (Construction Battalion) today is archaic, but the problems of betrayal, the preservation of culture in a hostile environment, youthful irresponsibility remain up to date. The story representing retelling of events on behalf of the character, is richly intoned and intonation gives topical character to its main subjects. Sergey Kaledin builds his story at the intersection of many voice streams: through the detached comment of an “alien” character, combination of exalted and everyday speech, alien words, chronotop “cutins”, playing with the rhythm and text density. The art world of the story is actively sated with the cultural and paracultural signs which today have become part of “the Soviet myth”. In reader's perception they also don't contribute to dokumentalizm of “Stroybat”, and on the contrary, promote his perception as parables about the good and evil. The system of the speech creates a feeling of convention of terrible details of stroybat as a social phenomenon and allows the reader to focus on the inner life of the character. | 4282 | The results of experimental work on approbation of pedagogical support for the formation of readiness of bachelors of management for profession development are considered. The results obtained earlier in the course of the study made it possible to conclude that the first-year students participating in the study who chose the direction of training “Human Resources Management” have low awareness of the specifics, nature and content of the professional work of personnel specialists, orientation and expression of motives, formation of professionally important qualities. This determines the necessity to strengthen the orientation on the formation of personal readiness to master the profession from the first days of study at the university. In this regard, a set of pedagogical means has been developed and implemented, namely: the program of the training course “Introduction to Professional Activitiy”, a training manual and other methodical means. The content of the training course was realized according to a specific algorithm, including the decomposition of learning objectives and related with them planned results of training, selection and structuring of content, determination of methods for assessing the results of course mastering during and at the end of the study according to criteria and indicators for the implementation of relevant diagnostic tasks. This approach made it possible to ensure the structural, substantive and methodological integrity of the course, the relationship with other training courses and, in general, to pay attention to improving the level of readiness of bachelors in management to master professional competencies at the initial stage of training. | 4300 | The article considers the way linguistic and cultural knowledge is used in translation and justifies the need to view a translator as a professional native and foreign language user. Similarly, it is important to recognize the specific character of translator’s language knowledge because, firstly, it is a tool in a professional cross-cultural mediation in translation; secondly, it provides the basis for the acquisition, development and functioning of translation skills. An attempt is made to identify the characteristics of translator’s linguacultural knowledge relevant to the process of code-switching, which should be viewed as the switching of linguacultural codes in order to reflect the interlingual and cross-cultural aspects of translation. Based on the analysis of the mental processes and mechanisms of linguacultural switching the following characteristics of translator’s lingualcultural knowledge have been proposed. Chunk-based language knowledge is represented by communicative chunks and communicative contours and is able to improve access, activation and retrieval of linguistic knowledge, error control, the functioning of radiant thinking and spreading activation. Frame-based knowledge of a foreign language creates the framework for probabilistic forecasting, facilitates direct access to conceptual representations in a foreign language, raises its activation level and reduces its dependence on the native language, as well as improving integration of linguistic and conceptual information into semantic memory. Systemic language knowledge means knowing a language as a system of dependencies and connections and ensures distinctness, flexibility and mobility of language knowledge. Language awareness involves the ability to pay attention to language forms, reflect on language, patterns and specific character of its functioning. Such awareness develops the skill of separating two languages and cultures, improves language and error control and prevents linguistic interference. Functional parallelism reflects the type of relationship between two language systems and is made up of systemic, communicative and operational aspects. The last characteristic involves the awareness of the linguistic factors causing breakdowns in code-switching in translation, as well as the ability to predict and deal with such problems. Collectively, the above-mentioned characteristics form the readiness and ability of a translator to code-switch. The development of these characteristics should be made part of professionally oriented foreign language teaching to trainee translators.
