Toponymic nickname – is a new name based on the associations with reality phenomena. Wide use of secondary nominations is a characteristic feature of the toponymic system of the USA. Each state, apart from its official name, has a number of nicknames, which can be official and unofficial. This article is devoted to the linguocultural analysis of toponymic nicknames of the US States, motivational characteristics of which are relief and water resource peculiarities. This group of American nicknames is clearly restricted in the English language and presents an interesting material for the linguistic analysis. This article regards different classifications of the analyzed units as well as their motivational and quantitative analyses. Secondary nominations of the US States reflect the peculiarities of the flat, hilly and mountainous relief. The last one prevails over the flat and hilly relief. Water resources (among which the most productive motivation is rivers) occur more often than the objects of the area relief. One more particular feature of the units under the investigation is the fact that they are presented by the nominations with absolute or full motivating, since the facts, events and geographical names, put in the basis of the secondary nominations, are always evident.

This article discusses the epistemological beliefs of the oldest Slavophiles as A. S. Homyakov and I. V. Kireyevsky and the philosophers-Imyaslavtsev (the Name Glorifiers) such as Florensky, Bulgakov, Losev. The particular attention is paid to the problem of the relations between Faith and Reason. The article refers to the types of science – the science of Antiquity, of the Middle Ages and of Modern Times. The thesis is given here: The conceptual connection of faith and fair mind requires a special type of scientific thinking – the symbolic thinking. In this regard, there are considered the examples of symbolic thinking in the sciences of Antiquity and the Middle Ages. In the main part of the article is given the analysis of the conception of Orthodox science in the philosophy of Slavophiles and of the Name Glorifiers (Imyaslavtsev) in terms of symbolic thinking. The article reveales a definite relation between the epistemological beliefs of these thinkers and the traditions of Ancient philosophy and Western scholastic tradition. It concludes on the relevance of the problem of the relation between faith and reason for the range of modern human sciences.

From the standpoint of activity theory we discuss the methodological features of teaching students skills for solving mathematics problems of higher level of complexity. We propose a classification of this type of problems (problems with parameters, problems on divisibility, problems on the decimal representation of numbers, Diophantine equations, problems on finding the largest or smallest natural values satisfying given conditions, problems on the integer part of numbers, etc.) and a step-by-step method for solving them. For each type we provide a set of examples of non-standard problems with full solutions aimed at development of students’ positive motivation, independent thinking, and action skills necessary for their successful mastering of mathematical activity. The developed materials can be used as part of a school course in advanced study of mathematics, as well as to prepare students for the All-Russian Olympiads in mathematics.

Material and methods. The author presents the experience of the management team of municipal autonomous educational institution «Ulu-Yulskaya secondary school» Pervomayskiy region Tomskaya oblast. The management team organizes methodological support for teachers who use effective methods of development of soft skills. Also, the author presents the experience of teaching the course «Modern educational technologies as a resource for improving quality of education». The subject of discussion in this article is the model of creating a motivating educational environment focused on the continuous development of teachers of municipal autonomous educational institution «Ulu-Yulskaya secondary school» Pervomayskiy region Tomskaya oblast. Results and discussion. A model of creating a motivating educational environment for the systematic use of educational technologies by teachers. The interim results of the management team’s activities on preparing the team for changes, on introducing educational technologies into the learning process, and on motivating teachers to selfdevelopment are presented. Conclusion. Team forms, new approaches, social contracts, team-building activities, distributive training, systematic methodological support allows creating a motivating environment for the introduction and implementation of educational technologies and makes teachers to self-develop.

Volkova T.F. FUNCTIONING OF MANIPULATIVE ARGUMENTS IN JUDICIAL SPEECH (BASED ON THE MATERIAL OF THE PROSECUTOR’S SPEECHES IN THE DEBATE). Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2021. Issue 6 (218). P. 105-111

Introduction. The article considers the role of sophisms in the judicial speech of one of the Tomsk prosecutors. The significance of the research is determined by the combination of the problems of the effectiveness of modern judicial speech, the designation of its place in the structure of the judicial process with linguistic and phonological categories. The purpose is to assess the relevance of the use of sophisms in the speech practice of the modern Tomsk prosecutor. The object of the analysis is the speech activity of a linguistic personality-the prosecutor of Tomsk, a woman, 38 years old. Material and methods. The following methods were used: observation, scientific description, discursive analysis. The material was oral recordings of speeches of the Tomsk prosecutor, lawyer and the defendant, made during one trial. The volume of the material is about 11.5 words. Results and discussion. The article describes various types of sophisms noted in the speeches of the prosecutor: substitution of the thesis, false arguments, arbitrary arguments, arguments against a person, etc. It is found that rhetorical arguments prevail over logical arguments in the speech in the debate. Actually, manipulative techniques are concentrated in that part of the judicial controversy, which is called a replica. To confirm this postulate, the main theses were highlighted, which were proved and evaluated during the debate. Variants of speculative use of evaluative rhetorical techniques prevail. Less common are “false analogy” and “female logic”. There are few cases of distortion of the thesis: “narrowing-expansion of the thesis”, “substitution of the thesis”. At this stage, it is difficult to assess whether the commitment to manipulative techniques is an individual feature of the speaker, or it is typical for a modern judicial process. The use of sophisms is part of the traditions of modern judicial practice, which began in the nineteenth century. It is noted that in the case of using manipulative arguments, the feature of the speaker’s speech portrait is most clearly manifested: subjective assessment and emotionality. Conclusion. We can say that the chosen strategy, assuming the presence of sophisms, proved its situational effectiveness, since it probably became one of the factors that influenced the decision of the court that supported the prosecution. Each speaker, as a professional language personality, has his own arsenal of effective and ineffective ways of organizing a discussion, it is necessary to replenish his communicative arsenal with the most effective management strategies that influenced the court’s decision.

The interest to Gogol’s literature heritage in the literature era of the XX–XXI centuries has been noted by many researchers. Literature scholars are actively introducing into scientific circulation the works of modern authors. They allow to raise the question of the place and role of Gogol’s heritage in the aesthetic search of the literature process of the turn of the XX–XXI centuries. The aim of the study is to analyze the functioning principles of the novel “The overcoat” and its system-forming image of a small man in the works of writers of the turn of the XX–XXI centuries. The novelty of the study lies, firstly, in the comprehension of the material that has not been previously analyzed, and secondly, in the reconstruction of the types, methods and function of the reception of the “overcoat text” in the literary era of the XX–XXI centuries. The works of modern authors were used as material: the chapter “Little Man Tetelin” from V. Makanin’s novel “The Underground or the Hero of Our Time” (1998). Makanin’s novel “The Underground, or the Hero of Our Time” (1998), stories by V. Petsukh “To Nikolai Vasilievich. Demonstration of Possibilities” from the collection “Plagiarism” (2001) and O. Slavnikova’s “CHANEL No. 5” (2009). The selected works belong to different aesthetic and genre forms and the point of convergence between them is their dialogical reinterpretation of the stylistic system of the novel “The Overcoat”, built on the combination of two modes of narration – “mimicry of grief” and “mimicry of laughter” (B. Eichenbaum). It is proved that the stylistic organization of the narrative principles of the novel “The overcoat” has a modeling effect on the works. All three selected authors use direct quotation allusion to the text of Gogol’s novel. The “overcoat plot” is projected by V. Makanin and V. Petsukh to comprehend the fate of the Soviet intelligentsia in the post-soviet realities. The writers record and comprehend the spiritual degradation aand grinding f the Soviet intellectual as a social and anthropological type. O. Slavnikova’s principles of transformation of the “overcoat plot” are connected with the reflection on the ontological value and self-sufficiency of the individual, which are lost in the situation of blurring the boundaries between the material and the ideal, man and thing. The human deformation discovered and explored by Slavnikova is thought of as an unmotivated fundamental property of the world. All three authors are characterized by the actualization of Gogol’s laughter, where the comic and the tragic coexist.

The article analyzes the problem of qualitative preparation and professional self-determination of graduates - future teachers in the context of self-monitoring of educational identity. Most higher educational organizations take into account, to varying degrees, new innovative educational technologies. The humanistic approach in education is relevant to the subject-subject paradigm, the transition to which is possible through the development and formation of subject positions of students, transferring them from passive consumers of information to actively and consciously acting participants in the educational process, subjects of educational activity. «Quality» is a fundamental parameter of any kind of activity and is now considered as one of the most important categories of philosophy and a term actively used in the modern economy. This process in the pedagogical system has specific features. Thus, the expert evaluation of the management of the quality of the pedagogical process, referring to the administrative language, refers to the internal audit of the content of education in a pedagogical university. Improving the quality of education also involves solving important methodological problems in the management of the quality of teacher education, which include the solution of the psychological and pedagogical problem of professional self-determination and educational identity. According to the authors, the self-monitoring procedure can complement the practice of developing subject-subject relations in the modern educational process, in the management of the quality of pedagogical education through the development of professional self-determination of graduate students.

The article deals with the texts of the records dated by 1917–1933 in terms of reflecting historical events in Russia in the first third of the 20th century. This period is the epoch of global changes in the life of Russian society. The aim of the research is to identify how the historical events that took place in the first third of the 20th century are reflected in the text. The records that were analysed are divided into four time periods. Each period is connected with historical events that are very important for Russia. The article is devoted to the description of three aspects that are very important for analysis of documents. The first part of the article describes the structural characteristics of the records dated by 1917–1933 and peculiarities of the records that are typical for each period. The main part of the work is devoted to the analysis of the linguistic means that form the record and also how linguistic means change over time. And the last part is devoted to speech norm. The text of the record presents a mixture of structures generated by the new ideological system and colloquialisms. The characteristics of lexico-semantic, functional-stylistic and structural features of the records of the presented period made it possible to identify the main units reflecting changing historical conditions at the level of the text.

The parameters of NQR spectra calculated with use all electronic basic set compared with the experimental values. The game activity contributes a lot to maintaining optimum movement regime of young learners. The basic constituent of game activity is collective games. Physical and psychological components in games are closely connected. Thus, children realize movement needs, expend their energy, improve the main physical skills. Moreover, from the one hand, they learn to be initiative, independent, persistent, from the other, to control themselves, consider peers opinion, submit their actions with other participants of the game.
