| 1206 | The article is devoted to one of the modern aspects of the Russian-Chinese linguistic interaction – Chinese advertising signs in the Russian language, a common border with Russia in northeastern China, in Heihe. The article presents a linguistic analysis of Chinese advertising signs in the Russian language, developed by native Chinese speakers, for their conformity to lexical-semantic norms. The purpose of this article is the interpretation of lexical interference as a cause of a violation of the lexical norms of the Russian language in the texts of Chinese signage in Russian. Thus, on all levels of the language system of the Russian and Chinese languages in their interaction in the texts of advertising signs of the border city of Heihe there were observed interlingual, and in some cases intralingual interference, reflecting a typological distinction of the interacting languages. The interference leads to a linguistic mixture of different elements (phonetic, lexical, grammatical) in the texts of advertising signs in the Russian language, which illustrates the «Chinese Russian language». Considering interlanguage and intralanguage interference in the texts of Chinese signage in the Russian language, we are attracted to study both forms of the contact languages explaining interference phenomena introduction as Chinese and Russian. Thus, the phenomenon of lexical interference in texts of advertising signs on the territory of the Chinese border city of Heihe, is largely the result of the interaction of contacting languages (Russian and Chinese), resulting in disturbances of lexical norms of the Russian language in them. | 1207 | The article deals with the results of the experiment and the interview which were directed at revealing the associative links of the Polish concept “śmierć” / “death”. A study of such kind of links can help in modeling the structure of the concept. The resulting verbal associations reflect the conceptual signs of the concept “śmierć” (‘end’, ‘departure’), indicate a deep rootedness in the consciousness of the Poles of cultural stereotypes which are a figurative representation of death (in the image of a woman with a scythe, skeleton). Words that call objects, realities connected with the rite of the burial (cemetery, funeral, etc.) are few in the associative line. The attitude toward death, its evaluation are found in the words-reactions, which call the feelings or conditions that a person experiences when faced with death. Most often these are heavy, unpleasant feelings or conditions (yearning, sadness, fear, etc.). Negative attitude towards death is represented in its associations with cold, darkness, ruins, etc. Individual associations which represent the personal experience of understanding death are diverse: from completely traditional (wieczny spokój / eternal peace) to very unexpected (śmietana / sour cream). The full spectrum of obtained associations allows to speak not only about the peculiarities of the structure of Polish concept “śmierć” (its signs), but also about the specifics of the conceptual connections in the consciousness of Polish-speakers. | 1217 | This article is devoted to investigating the images of grain and bread, which happen to be universally shared among agricultural-based cultures, as they are metaphorized by means of verbalized forms in Russian, English and Italian languages. We will present the common cross-cultural substantial context that lies at the basis of figurative reelaboration of source concepts and describe lexico-phraseological units embodying the images of grain and bread as part of motivational-figurative paradigms. An analysis of metaphoric models reflecting projections of these images in various conceptual spheres pertaining the material and non-material world is provided. The linguistic representation of cognitive metaphoric models is realized by means of figurative words and expressions. They include: metaphors (grain ‘very small and round shaped particle’), metaphoric derivatives (breadwinner ‘a person supporting a family with his or her earnings’), phraseological combinations (take the bread out of the mouths ‘deprive someone of his or her livelihood’), proverbs, sayings, and catchphrases (bread and circuses!). Our analysis will show a shared process of metaphorization in the languages under examination. On the one hand, the image of grain serves as a mean of metaphoric representation for 1) small and round shaped objects, 2) small parts of a whole (a structure or a surface), 3) a little or insignificant amount of something; 4) the source or the central part of something. On the other hand, the image of bread is used metaphorically to indicate 1) means of subsistence, 2) work or its results, 3) prosperity, 4) misery, 5) food in general, 6) positive moral characteristics of an individual. We can observe that in Russian, English, and Italian the figurative and symbolic semantics of grain and bread correspond. Such consistency is due, firstly, to similarities in food preferences among agricultural-based cultures, and, secondly, to the influence of pre-Christian and Christian traditions. | 1218 | The paper deals with the key aspects of electronic literary text semiotics and the specific realization of its categories such as cohesion and coherence. The research materials include several electronic texts (based on different platforms and technologies such as Adobe Flash, Scalar, HTML 5) that demonstrate the use of conceptually valid poly-code elements in their semantic structure. The main methods of the research are general scientific methods such as monitoring and description in conjunction with the method of comparative analysis and complex linguistic and stylistic analysis of literary text. The basis of text formation logical and semantic connections is the repetition of information in the various parts of the text. The cohesion of electronic literary text structural elements is provided by micro and macro thematic correlation of nonverbal components that relate to repeated verbal elements of electronic literary text. Being semantic valid, nonverbal components (audio, video, graphics, animation) can correlate with the differ character and length verbal components (letter; word/ word combination/ phrase; a part of text: the whole text) of electronic literary text. The spatial arrangement of verbal and nonverbal elements of electronic literary text is a means of expressing thematic and conceptual structure of the electronic work. Electronic literary text coherence comes along in the recipient’s consciousness during the cognitive process which helps to build holistic meaning transferring with the help of verbal and nonverbal elements of electronic work. Electronic literary text is semiotic complex object of modern informational and communicational discourse where verbal code is still meaningful but not predominant element. This fact transfers the text materiality into the sphere of cross disciplinary research in the humanities. | 1227 | The article deals with phenomenon of lexicalization of the inside form of plants’ names in the Russian language in comparison with English and Czech. Lexicalization of a word inside form is defined as acquisition of idiomatic character of a word in basis of disability of motivated relationship with other words. The sources of the research are explanatory, translated, etymological dictionaries and botanical reference books as well as statements of informants’ language consciousness. The psycholinguistic experiment with native speakers of Russian, English and Czech was examined in order to define idiomatic character of a word inside form. In the course of the motivational-comparative analysis it was defined that there are two groups of phytonims with idiomatic inside form. The first group includes such lexical units, the reason for the idiomaticity of which is low information content, that led to quick deactualization of motivated sign. The second group consists of lexical units, which idiomaticity’s reason is a loss of initial motivated sign, obvilion of one of the word meaning, though that word is well-known to native speakers of the language. In the issue of the conducted experiment a layer of phytonymic vocabulary with idiomatic and non-idiomatic inside form in the Russian, English and Czech languages was defined, specificity of lexicalization of word inside form of Russian plants’ names was described, extralinguistic and linguistic reasons of lexicalization of word inside form of phytonims were determined. | 1228 | Introduction. The linguistic personality is embodied in different linguistic materials, its modeling is based on the analysis of various kinds of texts. The study of linguistic personality in the emotive-evaluative discourse reveals the emotional and value picture of the speaker’s world and his communicative strategies in the emotional and evaluative interpretation of reality. This article presents an analysis of the image of Stalin in the value world picture of M. Plisetskaya, represented in the emotional and evaluative discourse of her memoir. The aim of the work is revealing emotive-evaluative vocabulary in the emotive-evaluative discourse of our linguistic personality and determining the main strategies in presenting negative assessments of Stalin, and reconstructing M. Plisetskaya’s linguistic picture of the world. Material and methods. The linguistic material of this research is the memoir of ballerina Maya Plisetskaya «I, Maya Plisetskaya», as well as other lexicographic sources: Dictionary of Russian language (Small Academic Dictionary, MAS), Explanatory Dictionary of Russian Language, edited by D. N. Ushakov. Methods and techniques used in the work: quantitative analysis of emotive-evaluative vocabulary, contextual, definitional and discourse analyses and the method of cognitive modeling. Results and discussion. I. V. Stalin takes an important place in the character system of M. Plisetskaya’s book. Social Survey shows that the image of Stalin in the minds of Russians has improved over the past 15–20 years, in contrast to this, M. Plisetskaya in her book assesses Stalin purely negatively, the name of the leader is used only in the context of negative emotive vocabulary. Emotive-evaluative vocabulary carries a high degree of expressiveness, reflects the system of values and particularity of the worldview of the linguistic personality. Stalin was evaluated in different ways: political activity, mental state, moral and ethical qualities and appearance. Having identified emotiveevaluative vocabulary in the linguistic personality’s text, we took a comparative analysis with the contextual semantics. During our work, we found that the evaluation of Stalin in most of the cases is realized with the help of negative emotive vocabulary, the vivid expression of which forms the picture of the world of M. Plisetskaya. Conclusion. In the process of describing Stalin, abusive, vernacular words with a strong expressive coloring are often used, expressing contempt, hatred and indignation. The image of Stalin in M. Plisetskaya’s world picture is assessed extremely negatively, the leader is defined as a paranoid, murderer, tyrant and criminal. If we talk about strategies for expressing emotions and evaluations, then negative information is introduced in different ways: direct evaluative speech acts, indirect statements – the phenomenon of evaluative enantiosemia, when the dissonance between the positive dictionary connotation of the lexeme and the negative context of the text is deliberately actualized. Various figures of speech are also used: lively, figurative metaphors, personifications, sarcasm and irony to express hatred and contempt to Stalin.
