| 3455 | Introduction. The appeal to the study of childhood in V. Nabokov’s novel is argued by a number of factors: historical and cultural changes at the beginning of the 20th century, attention to the phenomenon of childhood in humanitarian knowledge, and the significance of childhood in the aesthetics of modernism. Despite the fact that the topic of childhood has repeatedly become the subject of Nabokov’s analysis, it was not considered as part of the sociocultural space in the novel “Gift” (“Dar”). The purpose of the work is to explore the social and cultural features that describe the space of the formation of the personality of the characters; to determine the features of childhood as part of the socio-cultural space of V. Nabokov’s novel “Gift” (“Dar”). Material and methods. The study is based on the material of the novel “Gift” (“Dar”). The theoretical and methodological base of the research is composed of the sociological works of P. Sorokin, his works on the semiotics of the creative space of Y.M. Lotman, E. Farino, Nabokov’s studies of Yu. Levin. Results and discussion. The central character Fyodor Godunov-Cherdyntsev is the subject of understanding childhood as a special socio-cultural space in the novel. He recreates a number of signs (a description of the toys, a specific location of the Godunov mansion in St. Petersburg, a description of the interior of the estate in Leshino, a characteristic of the social relationship of the family, etc.), which make it possible to get an idea of a “successful childhood”. The image of his childhood is fitted by the novice poet into the manor and St. Petersburg’s style of Russian literature and through the association of his nanny with Arina Rodionovna, the spiritual relationship of the Godunov clan with Pushkin is established. The uniqueness of the socio-cultural space of Fyodor’s childhood is in the stereoscopic volume, the fullness of existence, ensured by the inclusion of the Godunov’s family in the natural universe, science, and elite culture. The social well-being of the Godunov-Cherdyntsev’s family is interpreted by Nabokov not like someone’s giving this privilege, but as genuine (internal) aristocracy, which is ensured by internal strength of mind, the ability to fulfill oneself in various fields: social and political (Fyodor’s Grandfather), scientific (Father Konstantin Kirillovich), creative (Fyodor). In contrast to his own childhood, Fyodor describes the childhood of the “great sixties” N. G. Chernyshevsky (Godunov’s best toys and clothes are contrasted with Nicolya’s “trousers”/“nankov’s trousers; Fyodor’s attentiveness and vigilance are contrasted with Nicolas’s shortsightedness; Godunov-Cherdyntsev’s physical dexterity is opposed to Chernyshevsky’s clumsiness, etc.). Finally, the continuity of the views and values of the father by the son in the noble family and the refusal to follow in the footsteps of the father in the family history of the son of the priest, the revolutionary fellow of Chernyshevsky are emphasized. Conclusion. Contrary to the prevailing opinion about Nabokov as a writer who is alien to social issue, the analysis allows us to state that the socio-cultural code is a significant method of revealing the ideological and thematic originality of the novel “Gift” (“Dar”). The socio-cultural space of childhood turns out to be the determining factor for all subsequent life. The socio-cultural space in Nabokov’s novels can be considered in a number of ways: intra-family and clan relations; social and personal status (the question of the correspondence of the inner world of a person to the assumed social role); the relationship of social conditions of existence with education, upbringing, cultural and personal self-determination of a person. Nabokov disputes the idea of aristocrats as people who are afraid of hard physical work and divorced from real life. On the contrary, he contrasts the “short-sightedness” of materialist-raider Chernyshevsky, who knows neither life, nor art, nor native nature, with comprehensive enlightenment and adaptability to life in the most diverse conditions of the Godunov-Cherdyntsevs (grandfather Kirill Ilyich and Fedor in exile, father - in expeditions). Social well-being is interpreted by Nabokov not as a self-worthy good, but as a basis for the freedom of personal and cultural selfdetermination. Keywords: Nabokov, “Gift” (“Dar”), literature of the Russian foreign countries, socio-cultural space, childhood | 1524 | |||||
| 3456 | Introduction. The features of the lexical representation of the idea of national unity in publicistic and advertising texts are considered. The relevance of the study is due to the current state of the field of social communication, in particular, the unlimited possibilities of free interaction between people due to the availability of digital technologies, as a result of which, on the one hand, various actors can in-fluence human consciousness through texts (for example, newspaper publications, advertising, etc.), on the other hand, different types of discourses reflect the peculiarities of people’s ideas about a par-ticular fragment of modern reality. Aim and objectives. The purpose of the article is to analyze what lexical means represent the idea of national unity in the media discourse. The object of research is journalistic and advertising texts. Material and methods. The research material was lexicographic data, text fragments extracted from the National Corpus of the Russian language and selected by the authors from media publications, polycode texts of commercial advertising. The methods of semantic-motivational reconstruction, com-ponent analysis, interpretation of contextual semantics, analysis of definitions were used. Results and discussion. Based on the study of the linguistic representation of the idea of national unity in dictionaries and speech use, the value of the non-idiomatic compound expression national unity is established, contextual markers of the idea of national unity are identified in publicistic and advertising texts. The expression national unity is considered in a series of synonymous units of national unity and national consent. It is shown that the expression national unity has a procedural meaning and pre-supposes the duration of action, and the expressions of national unity and national consent have a substantive meaning of effectiveness and a contextual synonym for national union. Based on the analysis of the definitions of the adjective national and the noun unity and their speech use as a com-posite non-idiomatic expression, the definition of national unity is formulated as ‘the state process of rallying the citizens of the country who have a common historical past, based on the interaction of the authorities and the people on the issue of solving the problems of state development and national secu-rity’. It has been established that in commercial poly-code advertising, the expression national unity is not used, but the idea of national unification is implemented implicitly. Conclusion. The authors identified language markers for promoting the idea of national unity in mod-ern commercial advertising, nominating common traditions, territory and some features of the coun-try’s socio-cultural life. It is noted that commercial advertising has significant opportunities for promot-ing national ideas; a research perspective is seen in the study of the educational possibilities of adver-tising discourse. | 3476 | The issue of training cadets of military higher educational institutions for the Olympiad in Informatics is under consideration. The nominations of the Olympiad are described and the methodical aspects of training cadets for one of the topics of the first round are described in detail – the use of the MS Word application in solving military-applied problems. Based on the analysis of the Olympiad assignments on computer science of the past years, a classification of tasks has been performed on this topic. The following types of tasks are identified: working with text; work with objects that are not text; execution of the document; automation of mailing; creation of macros and electronic forms. The method of teaching the solution of the selected types of Olympiad problems is described with the help of a set of different levels of difficulty in the exercises. Each subsequent exercise should either be based on the previous one, or repeat the sequence of actions formed in the previous tasks, which allows you to consolidate the result of the previous work. At the same time, in each subsequent exercise, a new action (or several actions united by one group of teams) must necessarily be added, which accentuates the attention of the cadet, thereby contributing to a more meaningful assimilation. Expansion and gradual complication of the set of exercises or the creation of a new sequence of similar tasks allows you to gradually master all the necessary material. A generalization of methodological provisions is made on the basis of which the method of preparing cadets for the speech at the Olympiad in the first round is proposed: it is necessary first to classify tasks for each topic of the tour, then to develop a set of exercises that form the cadet’s free operation with the actions necessary to solve problems of each type. | 3477 | The article is devoted to the problem of cognitive interest development among senior schoolchildren of nonhumanitarian classes during the English language acquisition at a secondary school. The author draws attention to the fact that the newly formed scientific branches provide the emergence of new professions, change the system of school education and increase the development of cognitive interest among schoolchildren. The main idea of the present article is to demonstrate the necessity of learning English for senior schoolchildren, whose profile subjects are Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Mathematics, as new professions actively come into modern life. Foreign language is considered to be polysubject and can enrich senior schoolchildren of non–humanitarian profile with knowledge on Natural Science and Mathematics and develop their cognitive interest. The interest to a foreign language as a subject, in recent times, is explained by it’s penetrating into different spheres and nonlinguistic professions. Actually, spheres of using a foreign language are extended. According to the “Atlas of new professions”, to 2025–2035 many new professions occur, many of them will need the knowledge of a foreign language. Intersubject relations come into modern school education and really extend the zone of subject knowledge on profile because of the interpenetration of knowledge of different subjects. Integration of a foreign language with Science subjects and Mathematics gives the opportunity for schoolchildren to get new knowledge on profile subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Mathematics and others) and increase the development of cognitive interest among senior schoolchildren. We consider that intersubject integration increases schoolchildren’s motivation to learning foreign languages, develops different kinds of thinking, forms the following abilities – to analyze, to generalize, to synthesize, to compare, make conclusions and others. Talmy’s typology. The attempt has been made to characterize the Ket language using Talmy’s typologies of lexicalization patterns, as well as D. Slobin’s typology of the expression of motion events. The conclusion has been drawn that Ket belongs to satellite-framed languages (in L. Talmy’s typology), and to high-path-salient but low-manner-salient languages (in D. Slobin’s typology); the verb root characteristically does not confl ate the semantic components, but expresses only the Motion component.
