| 5260 | From the standpoint of activity theory we discuss the methodological features of teaching students skills for solving mathematics problems of higher level of complexity. We propose a classification of this type of problems (problems with parameters, problems on divisibility, problems on the decimal representation of numbers, Diophantine equations, problems on finding the largest or smallest natural values satisfying given conditions, problems on the integer part of numbers, etc.) and a step-by-step method for solving them. | 5261 | The article presents an overview of rationales for euphemisms usage. We consider the problem from the point of psycholinguistics, social psychology, evolutionary biology and ethology. Biological researchers believe that a need for euphemisms could be one of the earliest linguistic imperatives imposed by disgust, thus euphemisms present a verbal hygiene strategy. Psychologists state that it is a distancing strategy, a means to manage human terror at the prospect of death. The article also considers the central role of politeness and cooperation principle in euphemistic and off-record indirect speech generation. From the perspective of the theory of strategic speaker indirect communication does not always involve pure cooperation between speaker and hearer but a mixture of cooperation and conflict and euphemising can be used to negotiate this uncertainty. Therefore, euphemism as a form of indirect proposition can allow for plausible deniability and has a strategic rationale. It is very popular among young people. They are new kinds of sport. The study subject is fitness and art-fencing – the new types of sports disciplines, attracting students with its accessibility, entertainment, connection of sport and art. The article presents the historical overview of the emergence and the development of art-fencing and fitness in global and Russian practice. There are common aspects of these new kinds of sport. Also in the article we can see its cooperation. The general characteristic features of these new types of sports activities, the degree of their interaction and enrichment are selected. In the article authors advice to use five groups of training items for common kinds of sport and for fitness and art-fencing itself which direct to forceful, coordination and willed features in common sportsmanship. Five conditional groups of training means, that are common to both fitness and art-fencing and that are aimed at the development of strength, coordination, strong-willed and restorativerelaxing qualities in the general physical preparation of athletes, are identified and recommended. The visual landscape of the city assumes an abundance of advertising information in various spheres of human activity. This leads to an increase in the requirements for people of different specialties in the field of visual communication skills. The problem is a contradiction: on the one hand, the visual level of the urban environment is constantly growing, on the other hand the approaches to education in this direction are not so wide and do not meet the requirements of the time. At the moment, there are many technologies for solving creative problems in the visual arts and design - this is a whole spectrum of researchers who pay attention to the issues of a full-fledged educational cycle, but the problem is to correctly choose and integrate them into the accelerated educational process (refresher courses). In this regard, the issue of creating a methodology for teaching the composition and working with it within the framework of the advanced training courses “Graphic Design. A basic level”. The goal was to create the most concise and effective way of learning to work with the mounting composition and the principles of working with a stain within the framework of this composition. Attention is paid to the processing of visual images in a virtual environment, through the Adobe Photoshop CC raster graphics editor, to achieve the maximum speed for processing visual data. Approaches to creating an assembly composition with pre-prepared image libraries are described. | 5281 | Toponymic nickname – is a new name based on the associations with reality phenomena. Wide use of secondary nominations is a characteristic feature of the toponymic system of the USA. Each state, apart from its official name, has a number of nicknames, which can be official and unofficial. This article is devoted to the linguocultural analysis of toponymic nicknames of the US States, motivational characteristics of which are relief and water resource peculiarities. This group of American nicknames is clearly restricted in the English language and presents an interesting material for the linguistic analysis. This article regards different classifications of the analyzed units as well as their motivational and quantitative analyses. Secondary nominations of the US States reflect the peculiarities of the flat, hilly and mountainous relief. The last one prevails over the flat and hilly relief. Water resources (among which the most productive motivation is rivers) occur more often than the objects of the area relief. One more particular feature of the units under the investigation is the fact that they are presented by the nominations with absolute or full motivating, since the facts, events and geographical names, put in the basis of the secondary nominations, are always evident. | 5284 | The article analyzes the semantics of the lyrical themes related to the situations of the festivity in its different variations: funeral processions, circus performances and others. It is deduced that the importance of these lyrical subjects in the contest of the city’s image and in the aspect of their connection with the inner life of the lyrical hero. It should be noted that there are cases of contamination of different type of festivity in a single poetic text. Nevertheless it doesn’t mean that the individual content and form of each type of festivity’s system is missing. The author marks the motives of festivity’s lack of organicity, participants’ tiredness from their own dissembling. The situation of festivity is included in the context of ontological bases of being, principles of time and death. The importance of festivity’s catastrophic conclusion, when the man is unable to defend himself from tragic state of the world is deduced. Those texts in which emerges the phantasmagoric scene of the Ball of the dead men occupy a particular position. This scene represents the generation of the lyrical hero-poet’s inner world. This period is the epoch of global changes in the life of Russian society. The aim of the research is to identify how the historical events that took place in the first third of the 20th century are reflected in the text. The records that were analysed are divided into four time periods. Each period is connected with historical events that are very important for Russia. The article is devoted to the description of three aspects that are very important for analysis of documents. The first part of the article describes the structural characteristics of the records dated by 1917–1933 and peculiarities of the records that are typical for each period. The main part of the work is devoted to the analysis of the linguistic means that form the record and also how linguistic means change over time. And the last part is devoted to speech norm. The text of the record presents a mixture of structures generated by the new ideological system and colloquialisms. The characteristics of lexico-semantic, functional-stylistic and structural features of the records of the presented period made it possible to identify the main units reflecting changing historical conditions at the level of the text. The article provides a brief overview of the employment prospects of the technical universities graduates and describes one of the most urgent issues of modern Russian society which is the problem of successful employment of university graduates and optimal realization of their professional and personal potential. The realities of the modern Russian labor market are uncertain, so many university graduates do not have the opportunity to find a job in their specialty, to find a worthy application of the professional knowledge gained at the university. Aim and objectives. The aim of the article is to analyze the problems of motivation in foreign languages learning in the technical university and justify the need to develop certain measures to encourage motivation of students. Material and methods. In pedagogy and psychology, there are different approaches to understanding the essence, nature and structure of motivation. The methods of study and formulated interpretations of the concept “motivation” vary widely. In this article we analyzed pedagogical approaches, according to which motivation, actively involving students of technical higher education institution in the learning process, contributes to the formation of their foreign language competence. Results and discussion. As a result, the problem of creating certain conditions aimed at the increasing of the university graduates’ adaptability at the labor market is raised. This adaptability is based on the obtaining of additional knowledge and competencies. One of the ways to increase the competitiveness of the university graduates at the labor market is foreign language competence which is the complex of knowledge and skills that allows a university graduate to use a foreign language effectively both in professional activities and in social life. Moreover, foreign language competence is regarded today as an integral part of the general professional competence of a technical specialist. In order to obtain the optimal level of foreign language competence the authors recommend using the professional focused foreign language model which takes into account professional and language needs of technical specialists. The successful realization of professionally-focused foreign language education claims for a certain system of motivation, especially at technical universities, whose students have low motivation to study the foreign language due to the technical style of thinking and underestimation of the importance and value of foreign language knowledge in the future professional functioning. That is why the important pedagogical task is to motivate students to consciously perceive and learn a foreign language. Conclusion. Analyzing the general problems of motivation in the educational process, the authors generalize the pedagogical experience of the Faculty of Foreign Languages at the Platov South-Russian State Polytechnic University (NPI). The article shows that professional development of future engineers, expansion of their socio-cultural, cognitive and informative horizons, are largely associated with the foreign language competence. The authors call for the technical universities teachers to expand the measures aimed at increasing the motivational level of students in the process of learning a foreign language. | 5299 | Brazilian playwright Nelson Rodrigues is the author of a very peculiar dramatic work, whose main characteristics are related to a poetics of the excess and a modernization of tragedy. There are two trends in his works: one that is closer to universal and mythical aspects of life, and another one that is closer to the historical and daily aspects. His own life was full of tragic events which made him feel that tragedy is a dimension that intrinsically belongs to humanity’s trajectory in this world. So the tragic sense of life was part of his world view and his philosophical conceptions. It was then natural that this tragic world view would be present in his literary creation at the several genres he explored, especially in his dramatic works. But his tragic approach is always mixed with melodramatic events and an excess of feelings, actions, and the grotesque, so that it frequently becomes comic at the same time. Nelson Rodrigues was influenced by both the high fine literature of the Western tradition and the subliterature of the beginning of the 20th century, and his mixture of them together makes up an original and very interesting creation. This paper fundamentally approaches the tragic as belonging to the playwright’s life — as well as his world vision — and also belonging to the works of Rodrigues by analyzing events in his, his readings, the opera and cinema techniques he was familiar with in order to reflect about their influences on his work, as well as to discuss formal aspects and subjects that make it possible to consider his dramatic works as belonging to the tradition of tragedy at the same time that he subvert and recreates the tragic standards in his own fashion.
