Borisova T.S. ON THE FEATURES OF THE TRANSLATION OF GREEK COMPLEX WORDS IN THE INITIAL STAGES OF THE CHURCH SLAVONIC LITERATURE. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2019. Issue 7 (204). P. 40-47

Introduction. Though the Church Slavonic composites have been thoroughly studied, many problems concerning the origin of this linguistic phenomenon in the early stages of Church Slavonic literature still remain open. Aim and Objectives. The purpose of this study is to analyze the methods of translating of Greek composites to the Church Slavonic language in the early stages of the history of Slavic literature (the end of the 9th - the beginning of the 10th centuries). Material and Methods. The investigation was performed on the base of the Slavonic translations of the Byzantine hymnography of the Triodion cycle. We studied comparatively with their Greek texts four Slavonic translated hymns: the Akathistos Hymn, the Great Canon of Repentance by St. Andrew of Crete, the Alphabetical Shichera from the Great Canon service and the Antiphons of the Great and Holy Friday by the Church Slavonic manuscripts (Lenten Triodion and Pentecostarion) of the 12th - 13th centuries. Results and discussion. In the Greek texts of these hymns we found 147 composites and analyzed the options for their translation by Slavic scribes in terms of their morphemic and syntactic structure and semantics. Based on the structure, Slavic correspondences to Greek composites were divided into untranslated borrowings, phrases, single-root semantic correspondences, original composites and calque-composites. Most of these categories were further divided into structural and semantic subcategories, with the different ways of reproducing of the semantics of the Greek composites. In percentage terms, the most insignificant category was borrowings. The calque technique actively used by Slavic scribes, however, covers less than a half of the total number of Slavic correspondences. We observed a considerable variation in the Slavic translations of Greek lexemes and root morphemes, while the same morpheme as a part of different composites could be translated as a single word, root or affix. Conclusion. The status of the calque in the early stages of the history of the Church Slavonic language was just one of the methods of conveying the semantics of a Greek composite, without a conscious intention of the scribes neither to copy the structure of the Greek words nor to establish invariant lexical, morphological and structural correspondences between the source and the target language.

Results and discussion. The educational practices’ key characteristics of the world’s leading universities as a tool for realizing human capital are the following: – autonomy of a private university, characterized by its own independent design of the university management’s strategy and policy and educational process – knowledge interdisciplinary synthesis based on the various scientific research’s integration and the widespread use of modern educational technologies. Creation of interdisciplinary institutes and multi-university programs; – high concentration of talents of all educational process’ subjects, where the main factor in the human capital formation in a private university is the privilege of selective selection of students with high academic performance, attracting famous scientists to research; – universities network interaction with the industrial sphere in the light of personnel training. The main form of networking is the corporate universities creation; – universities consortium, which is a single university that forms a unified brand with a centralized structure; – effective fundraising system that ensures the productive human capital formation. The main source is income from own scientific and practical developments carried out on a contractual basis by public and private firms; – research reputation. Advanced scientific and practical developments, characterized by productivity. Research developments directly depend on the universities autonomy, the greater of a university`s autonomy, the freer it is in choosing research areas. Conclusion. Ivanchenko S.A. On Some Features of M. A. Voloshin’s Color Picture of the World and the Means of its Verbalization. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2023. Issue 1 (225). P. 95-102

M. Voloshin’s special interest in color naming is caused both by the peculiarity of the era (Silver Age), and his passion not only for the poetic word, but also, equally, for fine art. The color picture of the world of M. Voloshin’s poems is distinguished by a variety of colors that convey shades of one color or another, and the unusualness of the created color images, in which the features of the author’s perception of the world are revealed. The article presents data on the study of the semantics and symbolic meaning of frequency colors found in the lyrical texts of M. Voloshin, data on the analysis of individual poems containing color symbolism in order to determine the meaning of color painting for understanding the poet’s worldview and the features of his creative manner. In the course of the study, methods of semantic-stylistic, contextological, and motive analysis were used, which make it possible to reveal the features of the embodiment and the meaning of M. Voloshin’s color picture of the world. The variety of color embodiment of the lyrics of M. A. Voloshin is associated with the peculiarity of the worldview of Voloshin the artist, who gave himself the attitude “to absorb all forms, all colors into oneself with the eyes”. In addition, the poet’s passion for Symbolist and Impressionist teachings influenced the multicoloredness of his poetry. Color painting, being one of the main means of expressing the author’s intentions, helps to convey the subtlest color shades and the symbolism of the feelings of the lyrical hero. The most frequent colors used by M. Voloshin: red in its many variations, gold, gray, purple – often contain metaphysical symbolism. To convey color, M. Voloshin also uses lexemes denoting plants (flowers), as well as mineralogical designations. The study of M. Voloshin’s lyrical tests for the use of color in them led to the conclusion that the color picture of the poet’s world is rich and diverse incarnations: colorful epithets, unusual metaphors, comparisons, synesthetic images, mineralogical designations – an incomplete list of the means and techniques used by the author. The significance of the conducted research lies in the reflection of the author’s worldview through the comprehension of the symbolic meanings of the image embedded in the color names.

Ivashchuk V.D., Melnikov V.N. QUANTUM BILLIARDS WITH BRANES. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2014. Issue 12 (153). P. 109-113

Cosmological Bianchi-I type model in the (n + 1)-dimensional gravitational theory with several forms is considered. When electric non-composite brane ansatz is adopted the Wheeler-DeWitt (WDW) equation for the model, written in the conformally-covariant form, is analyzed. Under certain restrictions asymptotic solutions to WDW equation near the singularity are found which reduce the problem to the so-called quantum billiard on the (n − 1)-dimensional Lobachevsky space H^n−1.

Pálušová M. NIKOLAI ERDMAN: CZECH TRANSLATIONS AND STAGE INTERPRETATIONS. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2021. Issue 3 (215). P. 155-163

Introduction. This paper aims to present the perception of Nikolai Erdman and his plays in the former Czechoslovakia and the modern Czech Republic. The article primarily focuses on the interpretation of Erdman’s plays in Czech translations and on Czech stages. Materials and methods. The research was based on the study of archival sources, such as programs for theatre productions, recordings of performances, critical responses in periodicals, translators’ diaries and memoirs, as well as post-1989 publications on the small theatre movement, etc. Theatre productions and their reception by the public and professional critics were analysed. The materials were also subjected to translational analysis. Results and discussion. Erdman’s satirical comedy The Suicide has been translated into Czech twice by renowned Czech translators Jan Zábrana (1967) and Alena Morávková (1985). In 1971, The Mandate was staged at the satirical theatre Večerní Brno (Evening Brno), which was the first production of Erdman’s plays in the former Czechoslovakia. The Suicide was staged in 1987. The publication of the Czech translation of The Suicide created by Alena Morávková in 1985 was three years ahead of the Soviet publication of the original play. The paper also reflects significant productions of Erdman’s plays at the E. F. Burian Theatre or Studio Ypsilon. Modern Czech stage productions of The Mandate (last performed in 2009) and, first of all, The Suicide (last performed in 2019) are also reflected in the paper. Conclusion. An analysis of the plays’ translations and stage versions proves that even eighty years after their creation, the satirical works of Nikolai Erdman are still relevant thanks to their deep humanistic and philosophical content that resonates with the modern audience. Both before and after 1989, Erdman’s plays were staged in so-called small (studio) theatres. Even today, the interest to Erdman’s plays arises in small theatres, student companies and amateur theatres. However, the themes that Czech directors emphasize in their contemporary productions are fundamentally different from what was targeted before the Velvet revolution.

Sangadiyeva A.V. THE INTERPRETIVE POTENTIAL OF RELIGIOUS METAPHOR IN BREXIT REPRESENTATION. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2020. Issue 4 (210). P. 16-22

Introduction. The socio-political event of the UK’s exit from the European Union has attracted widespread attention in the mass media since 2016. The article focuses on the metaphorical conceptualization of Brexit in news discourse. Material and methods. The research is based on the news texts on Brexit from the British internet-editions such as The Guardian, The Independent, The Daily Telegraph and BBC News. The research methods used in the paper are the definitional analysis, componential analysis, complete enumeration method, interpretation analysis, content analysis, metaphorical conceptualization method. Results and discussion. The paper gives a detailed analysis and interpretation of Brexit metaphorical representation from a religious perspective. The religion has always played an essential role in the history of human society. It is considered not only to permeate all the spheres of human activity but also consciousness and subconsciousness. Therefore, journalists implicitly try to influence the values of recipients. The metaphorical submodel BREXIT – RELIGIOUS BELIEF revealed in the paper describes Brexit primarily as a religious belief to add more value for the British society. The metaphorical submodel BREXIT – RELIGIOUS BELIEF is transformed into the submodel BREXIT – CULT with a negative connotation as a pseudo-religious organization. The metaphorical submodel BREXIT – SECT considered in the paper has a destructive nature and it compares B. Johnson and his supporters with the terrorist group Al-Qaeda that is ready to murder and die for its ideology. Conclusion. Productive religious metaphorical submodels interpret Brexit as a negative process. The interpretive potential of conceptual religious metaphor is realized.

Obtaining higher education is an important stage of human socialization. Equal access to education for all students, regardless of their diverse special educational needs and individual capabilities, including students with disabilities and disabilities, is designed to ensure inclusive education. Currently, higher education at Tsiolkovskiy Kaluga State University is received by persons 17 years and older, among whom there are students with disabilities, gifted students, representatives of different nationalities, cultures, countries and confessions, students from large and small cities of the world, near and remote settlements. All this actualizes the problem of creating an optimal inclusive educational environment at the university. Tsiolkovskiy Kaluga State University is actively working to create an inclusive educational environment, which is designed to promote the successful socialization of all students studying at the university. Each component has its own content. A special place in this structure is assigned to the Center for Inclusive Education. The Center for Inclusive Education, created at the University and designed to provide horizontal links between departments in matters of inclusive education, helps to eliminate inconsistencies in the actions of departments at the same level of hierarchy, which is generated by the strict hierarchy of the university’s Management model. The creation of an inclusive educational environment of the University is carried out in various directions, among which it is possible to highlight the improvement of the local regulatory framework, material and technical equipment, scientific, informational and personnel support for inclusive education, increasing the architectural accessibility of the university infrastructure facilities for students with disabilities, improving the quality of education received by students with disabilities. Modeling of the inclusive educational environment of the university is carried out by all participants of the educational process: administrative staff, teaching staff and students themselves, with the active participation of public organizations. There are a great number of problems connected not only with etymology and semantics of Russian surnames, bur also with their culture-historical, social and medico-genetic value. The problem of returning their professional generic appellations, beginning from Swinyins, by Russian verbal legends derived from wine-making Tarquinius genus which was known in Europe as long ago, as B.C. VI century to ancient Russian genera and surnames written down to generic totems has to be considered as one of the first social problems of Russian ancestral anthroponymics in the 3d millennium. Cao L. ON THE VARIATION OF THE WAYS OF EXPRESSING CONCESSIVE RELATIONSHIPS (ON THE MATERIAL OF SCIENTIFIC ARTICLES). Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2022. Issue 6 (224). P. 34-44

Introduction. The research is carried out within the framework of the theory of functional grammar and is aimed at studying semantic features of concessive relations and specialized means of their expression in Russian. The formal and substantial variability of concessionary constructions is noted, and an assumption of stylistic heterogeneity of language units expressing the semantics of concession is suggested. Material and methods. In spite of the research of concessionality, including its representation as a constituent part of the conditionality field, the semantics of concession and its expressive means have not been previously examined from the aspect of functional and stylistic usage. The formal, semantic and stylistic variation of concessionary units, conditioned by communicative settings and linguistic features of scientific style, are studied. The texts of the nuclear genre of scientific discourse – 3708 scientific articles of different thematic orientation, published in ranked Russian journals – were used as the material. Results and discussion. Scientific works devoted to the linguistic expression of concessive relations in Russian demonstrate the complexity and heterogeneity of this type of semantics and different ways of its expression. The analysis of concessive constructions in scientific articles on philology, history, biology, engineering and information science and economics shows that complex sentences with the conjunctions despite/disregarding that, but, however, although, as well as simple sentences with the prepositions despite/disregarding, despite, regardless of, etc., can be considered as special means of expressing these meanings in scientific language. On the basis of the quantitative data obtained, the article presents the percentage ratio of concessionary units in scientific articles on different topics and reveals the productive means of expressing the concession for each topic. From the point of view of the concession field, the most typical particular meanings of the concession (concessive-predicative, concessive-restrictive and real-concessive) and the absence of other meanings realized in other styles of the Russian language (concessive-predicative, concessive-retributive and reinforced-concessive meanings) were revealed. Conclusion. As a result of the study the average indicator of concessionary relations in the articles on different topics of scientific style was established, the substantive, formal and stylistic variation of concessionary units was noted, the correlation between the thematic focus of the articles under consideration and certain means of expressing concession was revealed, which requires further study.
