| 954 | Introduction. The article deals with the theme of childhood in the lyrics of Georgy Ivanov, according to the testimony of many, the best poet of Russian émigré, belonging to the generation of the first wave of emigration. Aim and objectives. The purpose of the study is to trace the theme of childhood on the material of the whole corpus of G. Ivanov’s lyrics, taking into account the influence of the poet’s acmeistic attitudes, as well as the formation of an existential worldview in his late work, and to trace the evolution of the poet’s children’s theme from the idyllic image of children in the context of the pastoral complex, typical for his early poetry, to the existential inherent in his mature work. Materials and research methods. The research methodology is based on the interpretation of literary texts based on theoretical and literary concepts (acmeism, literary tradition, poetry of the diaspora and metropolis, etc.). A comparative historical method was also applied to the analysis of texts that are typologically close, but have a temporal distance. Results and discussion. We examined the evolution of the children’s theme in the poet in connection with the acmeistic views of the author, identified the metamorphosis of the theme in connection with the appearance in the lyrics of nostalgic and existential themes related to emigration. Conclusion. The lyrical embodiment of the childhood theme of the early G. Ivanov is connected with his acmeistic attitudes, the images of children have the appearance of a “cultural cliché” (cupids, angels, peasant girls) and are written in the common pastoral modus. Childhood, in accordance with N. Gumilev’s geosophical attitudes, whose circle included the poet, is perceived by G. Ivanov as the beginning of a cultural journey, therefore the juvenile subject is accompanied by a large number of literary and culturological allusions. In the emigrant lyrics, the theme of childhood turns out to be inextricably linked with the mortal theme, which corresponds to the general mood of the latest collections of the poet. The image of childhood is distorted, sometimes beyond recognition, in the general mood of hopelessness, nostalgia and émigré longing. | 955 | The study is carried out within the framework of functional grammar and is aimed at studying Russian comparative-assimilative adverbs of military themes. The aim of the work is to conduct a comprehensive study of the functioning of comparative-assimilative adverbs of military themes taking into account explicit and implicit semantic features, to determine the composition of this thematic group and to identify word-formation features and types of combinability. The research is based on the works of Russian linguists treating comparative adverbs from different points of view and applying different scientific approaches, as well as on the works of linguists studying lexical-semantic groups of words of the “war” thematic group. The illustrative material was taken from statements from the National Corpus of the Russian language and from a free selection from the Internet. The work was carried out within the framework of A.V. Bondarko’s theory of categorical situations of functional grammar, and elements of contextual and component analysis were also applied. During the research, the composition of this group of adverbs was distributed into semantic subgroups describing the behaviour of persons belonging to different types and divisions of troops, conditions of military service, military ranks and positions. In dividing into word-formation types, a special type with a qualitative-substantive connotation was distinguished, with the meaning of places of location and dislocation of military operations. The division of military adverbs into compatibility types was carried out taking into account the connective, adversative, qualifying and explanatory relations with the main word and as the result both general (according to appearance and speech, character and behaviour, situation and living conditions) and individual semes were identified. As a result of the study, it was found that to represent the behaviour of persons, objects and phenomena of military subjects, comparative-suggestive adverbs actualize in the minds of native speakers either a well-known image in the form of background knowledge, or one of the nuclear or peripheral features. Keywords: comparative and assimilative adverbs, military thematic group, compatibility, functional grammar | 2195 | |||||

| 977 | The play The Days of the Turbins is usually studied in view of author’s and his characters’ political standings in the situation of the extremely dramatic change of government in Russia. The article analyzes the poetical manner of the play and finds out that the author used a wide variety of the expressive means, not just comical, but even slapstick. These slapstick elements can be found on the different levels and stages of the action: the play starts with obviously comical Nikolka’s «cook song» and ends with exceedingly passionate and comical, yet somewhat lyrical speaches by Lariosik. There is a system in use of the slapstick expressive means in description of authorities running away: from the implicit ones (the discussion of tsar by the drunk friends, singing Pushkin’s poem The Song of the Wise Oleg, rumors from Shervinsky about tsar’s return) to the explicit climactic slapstick scene in hetman’s palace. In the system of characters with use of means of comic not only Lariosik and Shervinsky’s images, but also Talberg are allocated: this not comic character is presented in a farcical situation of delay, replacement with another, in dialogue with repetitions, in zoomorfny assessment. The comic travesty of serious things, slapstick and drama in different forms and scales are considered in this article on the poetic manner in the play The Days of the Turbins as coexisting, contrasting, outlining, rejecting each other. Letters of famous writers – an important source, which plays a big role for the study of personality and creativity of their authors, historical events, the characteristics of the era, as well as people who are close to them and familiar, with which they communicate. In this respect, a great interest is the epistolary heritage of the great Russian playwright Anton Pavlovich Chekhov. As the material for the analysis serve the letters written by the writer to the large audience for the period of 1890. | 986 | Introduction. The given analysis is about 475 modern phraseological units that contribute to the formation of the phraseological picture of the world. The study examines the relationship of semantics and the form of phraseological units, due to the situation of communication. The phraseology of a language as part of the linguistic picture of the world is included in the framework of the study of cognitive linguistics. Aim. This study is aimed at identifying and describing modern phraseological units, as an example of allegorical expression in the communication process to achieve certain cognitive goals. Material and methods. The presented empirical material in the article is an actual selection from a modern literary text (Under My Skin, The Door That Led To Where, End Game, Liccle Bit, The Art of Being Normal – 2015 publication). Examples were obtained by reading fiction of modern British authors (J. Dawson, S. Gardner, A. Gibbons, A. Wheatle, L. Williamson), by the method of continuous sampling. Results and discussion. The analysis allowed us to consider the cognitive aspect of phraseological units. It is established that a broad approach to the study of phraseology expands the boundaries of phraseological doctrine and allows you to consider more structural and semantic forms of phraseological units. The following modern phraseological units are considered and analyzed in the article: phraseological units, phraseological units derivatives and author formations. The semantic features of derivatives of phraseological units and copyright formations are analyzed in the framework of modern phraseology of the English language. It is shown that the structural complexity of phraseology is based on the cognitive aspect of its semantic structure. Conclusion. The analysis made it possible to identify the structural range of phraseological units and consider their transformative processes according to semantics and situational use. The study shows that the modification of phraseological structures and the introduction of new idiomatic phrases (derivatives of phraseological units and author’s idiomatic expressions) are due to linguistic and cultural needs in the expression of society. All analyzed modern phraseological units of the English language are considered as operational units of thinking of the present time and are a means of reflecting the linguistic picture as a whole. The linguistic picture of the world is a reflection of the external and internal world of a person, his thinking and speech. The modern phraseology of the English language reflects changes in human comprehension, understanding and interpretation of the outside world. The phraseological unit has a complex structure and belongs to a special linguistic category, which leads to an increase in the interest of cognitive research. Thus, the study of phraseology at this stage should be focused on the phraseological unit, its meaning and its usage. | 987 | Introduction. The linguistic personality is embodied in different linguistic materials, its modeling is based on the analysis of various kinds of texts. The study of linguistic personality in the emotive-evaluative discourse reveals the emotional and value picture of the speaker’s world and his communicative strategies in the emotional and evaluative interpretation of reality. This article presents an analysis of the image of Stalin in the value world picture of M. Plisetskaya, represented in the emotional and evaluative discourse of her memoir. The aim of the work is revealing emotive-evaluative vocabulary in the emotive-evaluative discourse of our linguistic personality and determining the main strategies in presenting negative assessments of Stalin, and reconstructing M. Plisetskaya’s linguistic picture of the world. Material and methods. The linguistic material of this research is the memoir of ballerina Maya Plisetskaya «I, Maya Plisetskaya», as well as other lexicographic sources: Dictionary of Russian language (Small Academic Dictionary, MAS), Explanatory Dictionary of Russian Language, edited by D. N. Ushakov. Methods and techniques used in the work: quantitative analysis of emotive-evaluative vocabulary, contextual, definitional and discourse analyses and the method of cognitive modeling. Results and discussion. I. V. Stalin takes an important place in the character system of M. Plisetskaya’s book. Social Survey shows that the image of Stalin in the minds of Russians has improved over the past 15–20 years, in contrast to this, M. Plisetskaya in her book assesses Stalin purely negatively, the name of the leader is used only in the context of negative emotive vocabulary. Emotive-evaluative vocabulary carries a high degree of expressiveness, reflects the system of values and particularity of the worldview of the linguistic personality. Stalin was evaluated in different ways: political activity, mental state, moral and ethical qualities and appearance. Having identified emotiveevaluative vocabulary in the linguistic personality’s text, we took a comparative analysis with the contextual semantics. During our work, we found that the evaluation of Stalin in most of the cases is realized with the help of negative emotive vocabulary, the vivid expression of which forms the picture of the world of M. Plisetskaya. Conclusion. In the process of describing Stalin, abusive, vernacular words with a strong expressive coloring are often used, expressing contempt, hatred and indignation. The image of Stalin in M. Plisetskaya’s world picture is assessed extremely negatively, the leader is defined as a paranoid, murderer, tyrant and criminal. If we talk about strategies for expressing emotions and evaluations, then negative information is introduced in different ways: direct evaluative speech acts, indirect statements – the phenomenon of evaluative enantiosemia, when the dissonance between the positive dictionary connotation of the lexeme and the negative context of the text is deliberately actualized. Various figures of speech are also used: lively, figurative metaphors, personifications, sarcasm and irony to express hatred and contempt to Stalin. | 996 | There isn’t an aspect of social policy or experience that isn’t deeply caught up in disability issues. Disability is one of the great issues, like race, class and gender. Attitudes, beliefs, and misconceptions of society constitute a major barrier for people with disabilities. Attitude change can follow on heightened awareness, increased contact, and increased meaningful communication between disabled and non-disabled people. Although personal interaction is the most effective medium for conveying the personal experience of disability, the mass media can be an effective vehicle for bringing about greater understanding, and a consequent gradual change in public perceptions of people with disabilities. Language reflects the world around us and also constitutes the ways we understand and experience it. One aspect of the study on disability involves examining the words we use and the ways in which language represents persons and beliefs about them. The language used to talk about disability and disabled persons has changed over time. History, theory, advocacy, politics, and culture influence how disability is expressed and represented. The emergence of new paradigms of disability, the disability rights movement and disability studies, and other changes in culture bring attention to the ways that we talk about and depict disability. Examining varied perspectives on disability reveals considerable variation in language related to disability and how it is regarded. The article is devoted to the cognitive and discursive, contextual analysis of the disability terms based on the Internet articles of the Russian and American magazines, journals and newspapers: AiF, Rossiyskaya gazeta, Moskovskiy Komsomolets, lenta.ru; New York Times, National Geographic, Time, People, Scientific American, Fortune. | 998 | The urgency of establishing the essence of the term “competence-oriented task” is determined by the orientation toward achieving substantive, meta-subject and personal results of education in the secondary school educational practice. This category, widely used in pedagogical science and educational practice, does not quite justifiably relate to the concept of a task of a practical nature. The establishment of the specificity of competence-oriented tasks is carried out on the basis of an analysis of the positions of different authors, not only in understanding this category, but also in the semantically close to it concepts of “contextual task” and “situational task”, and also in connection with the modern interpretation of the learning task as a means of forming integrated educational result. The conclusion is drawn on the understanding of competence-oriented tasks as the tasks that, along with the formation of the subject competences of the student, determine the development of such qualities that determine the ability and readiness for independent cognitive activity, that is, the qualities whose totality determines the concept of cognitive competence. Examples of competence-oriented tasks are considered. Requirements to competency-oriented tasks in teaching mathematics are formulated. Proceeding from the structural and content features of cognitive competence as a significant component of an integral system of personality characteristics of a school graduate, the requirements that must be met in competence-oriented problems of school mathematics are established. | 999 | The article analyzes the place and role of leisure in the life of the speakers of the Russian language and modern national culture from the standpoint of the linguistic conceptual approach: it examines the structural and informative characteristics and lexical means the of the concept LEISURE expressing, which represents a significant fragment of the worldview for the modern Russian society. Leisure plays an important role in the self-realization of the individual and the regulation of its relationship with the outside world. Leisure is a space for personal improvement. The linguistic-culturological characteristic of the LEISURE concept is emphasized, since the value perception and understanding of leisure by the Russian people is fixed in the language. Proverbs, sayings, aphorisms, which include the lexeme leisure, its wide representation in Russian texts of various genres and styles, the interpretation of the features in dictionaries indicate the extreme importance of this concept in the Russian linguistic culture. Currently in Russia there is a multi-layered leisure space permeating the social being. The following informative components of the concept LEISURE are marked: “rest”, “free space”, “freedom”, “the opportunity to do your favorite hobby”, “soul celebration”, “the chance to show your creative abilities”. The increase in the amount of free time, scientific and technical progress, the national diversity of cultures contributes to the complication of the structure of leisure and the creation of many forms and types of leisure activity. In particular, this article deals with such leisure areas as leisure, organized by means of computer technologies, art and sports. The end of XX - the beginning of the XXI centuries is characterized by the flourishing of consumer culture in Russia and the replenishment of new types of leisure activities. The article substantiates the thesis that the specificity of modern leisure activities is determined by such property of consumer culture as creative consumerism. From this point of view, consumption is viewed as a process of creatively constructing an identity with the help of acquired goods and services. In language, this tendency is realized in the form of using in modern speakers’ speech the newest borrowed words denoting certain forms of leisure (shopping, body art, piercing, tattoo, face art, hand-made hobby, scrapbooking, patchwork, quilling, felting, etc.). In general, the stated problem has broad prospects for scientific research.
