| 5051 | The article deals with the peculiarities of rhyming compounds which are usually used as a means of speech expressiveness, but don’t belong to the system of rhyming slang. Rhyming compounds represent the group of minor types of word-formation in Modern English. The members of the group are less important in comparison with the other ways of replenishing the English vocabulary, but they play an important role in the field of expressive means of language. The meaning of rhyming compounds is diverse and often unpredictable; they usually denote quantity or intensity. Rhyming compounds are formed by repetition of roots with some changes in the vowels or/and consonants. The system of the word-formation type in question is rather stable and tends to increase. | 5052 | Introduction. The article is devoted to the identification of ideas about men in women’s dialect discourse. Material and methods. The material of the research is women’s autobiographical stories recorded by the author in dialectological expeditions in 2016–2019; the Tomsk dialect corpus, which includes the materials of expeditions organized by employees of the Tomsk State University from 1946 till the present day on the territory of Middle Ob dialects spread. The research is carried out in cognitive-discursive direction of gender linguistics. Results and discussion. The basis for identifying gender ideas and stereotypes is linguistic opposition of “masculinity- femininity”, in which the personal qualities of men and women and the characteristics of their behavior are contrasted. It is determined that a man less thrifty, more prone to drunkenness than a woman. The contrast between women and men is based on the division of labor responsibilities. An important parameter for verbalization of gender ideas is the status in marriage. It is reflected in the frequency of using of lexical unit husband and in significant number of synonyms for this unit. As a rule, women’s stories s about themselves and their lives are accompanied by characterization of their husband and life in marriage. The most vivid ideas about a man are recorded during description of his personal qualities. Women more often evaluate a man based on his working capacity, economic efficiency, and social achievements. Attitude to a wife and love between a wife and a husband is important in description of husband’s characteristic. Drunkenness and aggressiveness of men are condemned. Such typically feminine qualities as loquacity, squabbling, and scandalous behavior, is negatively assessed for men. Conclusion. The content of ideas about men is influenced by the features of rural existence, which is based on work, patriarchal gender stereotypes, socio-historical events and processes. The identified gender ideas have a discursive specificity due to the gender identity of the speaker. Keywords: gender, gender linguistics, dialect, autobiographical stories, man | 1678 | |||||

| 5071 | The subject of this paper is the problem of the author’s dramatic plot. It is the designation of the appraisal and from – without – vision peculiarities of the story depicted by the author. These peculiarities tell the playwright both from the other authors interpreting the same plot situation and from the hero having his own comprehension of what is going on from within the dramatic situation. Besides Chekhov’s plot is not just the author’s plot. It is plot of special typology. The main function of heroes in it is not the action but the personality’s understanding of his present, past and future. On these grounds the integral world picture only appears on interaction of the position in vision and appraisal of the story by the characters from the reader’s/spectator’s position. As a result, the world model expressing the individual peculiarities of the author’s life conception is recreated on the territory of the reader’s consciousness. The playwrights of the 70th–early 80th of the 20th century typologically created the plots similar to Chekhov’s ones. But it is important that the authors used his elements as well – the situations keeping the author’s vision, heroes, with the help of which Chekhov’s world model appeared in his time. It allows us to speak about the working – out of Chekhov’s plot as “someone else’s”. In the final analysis, Chekhov’s plot has some prognostic functions. It sets the direction of the modern history movement, predicts key events. At the same time the unjustified of plot expectations allows the playwrights to designate, first of all, their own life understanding different from Chekhov’s; secondly, the principal lack of coincidence of their time and Chekhov’s time. Only in the situation of recognizing Chekhov’s heroes and situation become “the codes” allowing to decode the modern dramatic story, to reveal the plurality of its meanings, the individuality of the author’s position. In its turn, new meanings of Chekhov’s plot appear in the new author’s and time context. | 5072 | The author considers the method of concept analysis as a research tool in literary studies, which could be also used in literary translation. The article states that the concept “dreary” has a dominating role in A. P. Chekhov’s narrative “A Dreary Story”. This concept represents semantic monotony and estrangement, which gradually reveals its existential potential. Therefore a philosophical subtext is logically found in the narrative, but its preservation in a translation is a great challenge for a translator. The author analyses one French version of Chekhov’s narrative. It was written in 1926 by a sociologist, writer, translator, music and literary critic, Boris de Shloezer. He oriented himself to one interpretation of this narrative which was done by a philosopher-existentialist, Lev Shestov. It allowed the translator to communicate a general philosophical idea, an existential tragic element of “A Dreary Story”. Nevertheless he did not pay enough attention to the text structure with its pervaded motives, which are organized by the title concept dreary. As a consequence Shloezer did not succeed in making an adequate French translation of “A Dreary Story”. | 5085 | Introduction. The relevance of the study lies in the fact that today, in the period of the accelerating process of development and implementation of e-learning and distance learning technologies, the creation of a promising educational system, it is necessary to anticipate and forestall the emerging very contradictory problems. One of them is the demand for scientific and pedagogical workers who possess the necessary skills to carry out work in the electronic information and educational environment of the institute, and their insufficient training for the successful application of these technologies in professional activities. The goal is to identify the level of professional competence of scientific and pedagogical workers in order to organize activities in the digital educational environment. Material and methods. The methodological basis of the study was the psychological concept of the subject-activity approach, the essence of which lies in the idea of the person as an active subject, self-improving, self-actualizing and self-determining. The idea of this approach is based on the connection between the cognitive and activity mechanisms of the subject’s involvement in the external environment and assumes that he has a stable personal position on his own transformation and development. No less important is the second approach – acmeological – increasing the teacher’s professional competencies through informal forms of professional development. Results and discussion. The article presents an analysis of the problem of training scientific and pedagogical workers for the development of additional professional programs developed in the format of digital educational resources in the context of an accelerated change in the social and professional environment due to the expansion of digital technologies. The authors’ attention is focused on diagnosing digital competencies of specialists. The study of the digital competence of the scientific and pedagogical workers of the institute made it possible to determine the influence of the digital educational space on their professional development and to reveal the level of their readiness to participate in didactic communications using digital technologies. Conclusion. Thus, it should be noted that the diagnostics made it possible to fully assess the level of the institute’s employees with the competencies necessary to work in a digital educational environment, including for the development and implementation of additional professional programs in the format of digital educational resources. So, after the proposed number of forms of advanced training for teachers of the institute, in December 2021, a second diagnosis will be carried out, which will show the dynamics of increasing professional competence in terms of work in a digital educational environment. | 5096 | Open ination is a cosmological scenario in which the universe is a vacuum bubble nucleated from false vacuum decay and a period of inationary expansion followed in the nucleated bubble. This scenario is currently receiving renewed interest in the context of the string theory landscape. Since there are a large number of metastable de Sitter vacua in the string landscape, tunneling from one vacuum to another occurs frequently through the bubble nucleation and open ination is naturally realized. We argue that though the universe appears to be very at, a small deviation of омега0 from unity can make the effect of tensor-type perturbations on the large angle CMB anisotropy signicant. | 5098 | Introduction. The material of historical essays by E. P. Kovalevsky, devoted to the events of the Danube campaign, which was practically not studied before, is presented in the work. The aim of the work is to study the genre content of Kovalevsky’s essays and determine their role in the literary process of the 1850s. Material and methods. The research focuses on the work “Three chapters from the political and military history of 1853, 1854 and 1855”, written by a direct participant of the events and at the same time a representative of official circles. Published in “Otechestvennye Zapiski” in 1856, it is considered in comparison with the work “The War with Turkey and the severance with the Western powers in 1853 and 1854” which was published for political reasons only in 1866. The research uses comparative and cultural-historical methods. Results and discussion. The research shows that Kovalevsky’s essays are the first artistic interpretation of the Danube campaign events against the background of official circles’ silence on the political reasons for the beginning of the Crimean war. The originality of the author’s creative manner is shown in the synthesis of a documentary narrative with elements of essay and story. The problems of essays (the problem of the hero, patriotism) and their poetics (the description of nature, the role of the narrator) expand the horizons of the author’s creative search and give an impetus to understanding and presenting new material (form and content) to contemporaries. Conclusion. Typological features of the historical essay and its artistic features in the work of Kovalevsky are revealed. The study of the essay genre on the example of Kovalevsky’s “war stories” makes it possible to build a line of creative continuity in Russian literature (Tolstoy and Dostoevsky). This work will be useful for scientists of historical and philological profile: from the point of view of genesis, the synthetic nature of the essay genre and the literary and factual context of the events of the Crimean campaign. | 5099 | Introduction. The article reveals the specifics of the archetypal images of earth, water, and air in L. Goralik’s trilogy about Venisana, which, in our opinion, contributes to a deeper understanding of the main trends in the development of modern Russian-language prose. The purpose of the work: to reveal the originality of archetypal images in L. Goralik’s cycle about Venisana. Material and methods. The theoretical basis of the research was the works of Russian structuralists and mythologists. The research material is L. Goralik’s trilogy about Venisana. Results and discussion. The analysis made it possible to identify the characteristic features of archetypal images in the L. Goralik trilogy. The images of stone, earth, water, air reveal their symbolic nature, reflecting the inner movement of the heroine in search of finding the meaning of her existence, at the same time, revealing the deep desire of the individual to change a destructive, unstable society. Conclusion. The author is involved in a postmodern game with the text, plays with meanings, so that the plot that unites the trilogy into a whole can be interpreted as 1) the story of the heroine’s growing up; 2) transformation of the fairy-tale plot of the journey to the afterlife; 3) the struggle of the conscious/unconscious. The text of the trilogy is a step-by-step analysis of the spiritual life of the main character, trying to find her place in a destructive society and her own family, burdened with an analysis of her own frustrations and, first of all, the drama of birth. The heroine is bound by the laws of the stone, unfree world, trying to escape into the space of freedom, relive the euphoria of birth, which ends in disaster – the newfound freedom discourages with its alienation and emptiness. The scenario with some variations is repeated several times throughout all three stories included in the cycle. The lack of freedom associated with the world of the city (stone), depending on the situation, turns out to be hostile (at the beginning of the quest), and desirable at the end. The return to the usual way of life is again replaced by the desire for freedom and leads to the next round of transformation. | 5100 | Asya Petrova is a modern St. Petersburg writer who is actively working in the genre of “school” story. Asya Petrova’s stories address an important question: why is it impossible or unsuccessful for a teenager to communicate with peers or adults? A related question: should a teenager distinguish between “own” circle of family / friends and a “wide” social circle of communication and, in accordance with this, choose a type of speech behavior? The choice of Asya Petrova’s works as a material for analysis is due to the fact that in most cases the writer finds for her characters the possibility of a positive resolution of conflicts; the finals of works are open to the future. Particular attention is paid to the story «Who says what – it doesn’t matter», since this work can be recommended to the teacher for a joint discussion with pupils in grades 6 or 7. The purpose of this article is to identify ways to solve the communicative failures of the heroes offered by Asya Petrova. The existential problems of the characters (the desire to “just say” and the feeling of the impossibility of this action) are realized in the same type of conversation situation. These situations mark the stages of plot development. The methodological basis of the study includes, in addition to the traditional system-structural concept of the artistic world of the work and the plot as part of the chronotope, the theory of the subjective organization of the narrative. Based on the concept of the dialogic word M.M. Bakhtin, methods of organizing the speech level are analyzed; in the study of errors and failures of dialogues, the theory of discourse formations of V.I. Tyupa is involved. The features of the genre of “school” story are taken into account. As a result, five stories by Asya Petrova are considered, offering several possible options for establishing communicative contacts between a teenager and people around him. The general invariant is the hero’s overcoming of isolation on himself, the emergence of a desire to help other people. In addition, the author declares the independence of the child’s personal statement, not subject to double communicative standards. The conclusions point to the significance of such a trend in modern teenage literature, which successfully combines psychologism in revealing the characters’ images and the author’s game strategies. The practical significance is seen in drawing attention to an actively writing modern author, who is still outside the attention of researchers in children’s and adolescent literature.
