The article discusses the capabilities of the technology “Debate” in the formation of professional competencies of future teachers, substantiates and elaborates the scheme of inclusion of debates in the educational process. Implementation of the proposed scheme is shown by the example of the debate on the topic “The Study of Informatics in primary school: for and against”. At the final stage, the survey was conducted, which allowed to determine the attitude of students to technology “Debates”, the willingness of students to participate in such events and apply this technology in their professional activities. The use of debates allows to prepare a specialist who is able to work with different types of information, navigate the information space, justify his point of view. The above mentioned qualities should be common to modern teachers.

Introduction. The article deals with the issue of the cultural communication between representatives of different generations. The precedent texts associated with the common knowledge of people belonging to a single culture are studied in line with the structure of a linguistic personality. Precedent phenomena of various types are an important part of an intertextual thesaurus. In the process of communication, the cultural allusions of communicants play a great role, as well as the application of their cultural backgrounds that include components of the intertextual thesaurus. Aim and objectives. The purpose of the article is to analyze the area of the Russian linguistic personality thesaurus that contains the catchphrases by Bulat Okudzhava – a prominent 20th century Russian author. Material and methods. Being constantly played out in the 1970–1980s, Bulat Okudzhava’s songs were shaping the cultural values of the generation. Many phrases from the songs got a folklore status, which is witnessed both by the dictionaries and by the Russian National Corpus. In order to study the dynamics characterizing the differences in the cultural memory of generations of fathers and sons an experiment has been carried out based on the 10 popular catchphrases from Okudzhava’s verse. These phrases underlie the survey covering an audience of approximately 1,000 people. Those surveyed had to determine the authorship of the phrases and to continue some of them. Results and discussion. The analysis showed that in most cases there are no links in the mind of respondents between the name of Bulat Okudzhava and even the most widespread phrases from his songs. The authorship was often attributed to fully unexpected names, which shows serious gaps in the cultural memory of the young. However, it was proven that Okudzhava’s catchphrases definitely exist in the intertextual thesaurus of the linguistic personality, which is surely determined by the interaction of verbal and multimedia information. Conclusion. The analysis of the dictionary entries and the corpus data proves the precedent status of many of the Okudzhava’s phrases. Nevertheless, the results of the mass survey reflect a significant change in the intertextual thesaurus of the young.

Due to the fact that there is a decline in percentage of university students involved in physical activity and decrease in the physical education programmes’ guidelines, the role of students’ involvement in extra-school sport is highly significant. The study indicates the results of the survey conducted among the girls-students of Tomsk polytechnic university to assess levels of extra-school sport participation. The analysis of the survey data reveals that one of the factors affecting students’ participation in sport and physical activity is poor physical education competence and skills. The study highlights that the issue raised calls for a multi-level approach including developing and promoting encouraging projects that have significant benefit to health and increase physical activity, and it must be supported by a strong information and knowledge base.

The article discusses prospects of using the method of tandem leaning in Master courses of a multidisciplinary university. The conventional concept of tandem learning is broadened and it does not necessary apply to leaning foreign languages by means of intercommunication between two speakers of different languages. The author argues that in a multidisciplinary university a tandem can include Master students of various specializations. The article provides a reflection on a tandem learning experience when organizing Master of Linguistics students’ internship. In one case the second party of the tandem was Master of Engineering students, while in another case the second party of a tandem was students of an additional qualification program “Translator in the sphere of professional communication”. The two-year successful experience has proved the efficiency of using the method of tandem learning in a multidisciplinary university.

Teachers with negative attitude to children are characterized by the distinctive business orientation, willingness to cooperate with the team, focus on business values, ethical values and values of self-affirmation.

The article presents the analysis of the functional development of the Russian language anglicisms present in the texts of out-of-home advertising. For this purpose the meaning of the concept out-of-home advertising is revealed, the reasons of anglicisms loans and their theme groups in advertising are determined. Acording to the method of loan of anglicisms in out-of-home advertising there are: foreign-language blobs (ekzotizms), composites, abbreviations and hybrids. Asya Petrova is a modern St. Petersburg writer who is actively working in the genre of “school” story. Asya Petrova’s stories address an important question: why is it impossible or unsuccessful for a teenager to communicate with peers or adults? A related question: should a teenager distinguish between “own” circle of family / friends and a “wide” social circle of communication and, in accordance with this, choose a type of speech behavior? The choice of Asya Petrova’s works as a material for analysis is due to the fact that in most cases the writer finds for her characters the possibility of a positive resolution of conflicts; the finals of works are open to the future. Particular attention is paid to the story «Who says what – it doesn’t matter», since this work can be recommended to the teacher for a joint discussion with pupils in grades 6 or 7. The purpose of this article is to identify ways to solve the communicative failures of the heroes offered by Asya Petrova. The existential problems of the characters (the desire to “just say” and the feeling of the impossibility of this action) are realized in the same type of conversation situation. These situations mark the stages of plot development. The methodological basis of the study includes, in addition to the traditional system-structural concept of the artistic world of the work and the plot as part of the chronotope, the theory of the subjective organization of the narrative. Based on the concept of the dialogic word M.M. Bakhtin, methods of organizing the speech level are analyzed; in the study of errors and failures of dialogues, the theory of discourse formations of V.I. Tyupa is involved. The features of the genre of “school” story are taken into account. As a result, five stories by Asya Petrova are considered, offering several possible options for establishing communicative contacts between a teenager and people around him. The general invariant is the hero’s overcoming of isolation on himself, the emergence of a desire to help other people. In addition, the author declares the independence of the child’s personal statement, not subject to double communicative standards. The conclusions point to the significance of such a trend in modern teenage literature, which successfully combines psychologism in revealing the characters’ images and the author’s game strategies. The practical significance is seen in drawing attention to an actively writing modern author, who is still outside the attention of researchers in children’s and adolescent literature.

The article analyses the features of the oral narrative, reveals its genre features, gives the classification of the Angarsk narrative texts and set their semantic and axiological dominants. The source of the research is the stories of the people from the flood zone of the Boguchanskaya HEPS (hydro-electric power station), recorded by the author during dialectological expeditions to the Kezhemsky and Boguchansky regions of the Krasnoyarskiy krai in 2012–2014. The macrostructure of the Angara narrative review is based on the short stories material about the transmigration from the Boguchanskaya HEPS flood zone. This article, based on the material of “AiF in Tomsk” appendix for 2008–2010 considers different types of regulatory strategies, which are typical not only for literary texts that were previously identified, but also for regional media discourse. The research is carried out with the communicative stylistics, oriented at the analysis of the dialogue between the author and the reader of newspaper and journalistic texts, which is possible owing to their particular organization and selection of language means. Different texts on the same topic analysis allowed defining some features of the journalists’ texts on the level of their regulatory tools, structures and regulatory strategies. The largest communicative effect, according to the survey of informants, is caused by regulatory strategy of paradoxically contrastive type thanks to contrast and irony techniques, as well as various regulatory tools.

The article deals with the question of studying the structural properties of the academic medical discourse text of such type as “Original Research”, based on the material of the New England medical journal. It provides the characteristic of text-Background, text-Methods, text-Discussion, text-Results and text-Conclusions. The article presents the examples of the implementation of the information content of the above texts of the article in Russian in comparison with the submission of information in English. It describes the specifics of the linguistic manifestations of English sentences presenting the text of a medical journal article under study. It demonstrates the result of studying of what the text of the article of academic medical discourse is. The most significant factor of the study is that the analyzed article text is considered as a scientific conversation with colleagues, whose purpose is to discuss participation in the conduct of statistical analysis and public presentation of the results of research activities and intended for a narrow circle of specialists using natural science concepts and methods, information, bibliographic resources and medical and biological terminology in solving professional problems can be defined by verbal constructions, consistent and inconsistent definitions, prepositional and non-prepositional combinations of nouns with adjectives, nests of words, letter abbreviations (acronyms) and correlates with medical terminology by German and Latin symbols in written form.

The article highlights the process of separation of the bodies of social security and domestic organization of military families from social welfare bodies. A wide range of tasks which the People's Commissariat of social welfare faces, small staff, and, which is the most important, the lack of far-reaching beholden network of the bodies responsible for social security of military families at the local level determined the lack of effective government aid to this category of citizens and became the reason for introduction of the bodies of social security and domestic organization of military families. Through the example of functioning of the regional and territorial social security bodies in Western Siberia the order and structure of their organization and the tasks which they face are demonstrated, as well as the importance of changes in the structure of the bodies for effective assistance to the military families is studied.

The article gives a brief review of the development of the theory and practice of correlation between general education and vocational training and provides an overview of the major trends in the research in this sphere in the history of education of Russia. The underlying reason for this survey is the necessity to enhance training of craft and trade workers in Russia both in general and vocational subjects taking into account the experience of the previous generations. The outcomes of the research can be used to increase the quality of training specialists for small enterprises including craft enterprises. The introduction of competence-based training in the vocational education system of Russia opens up a new sphere of research of the problem of correlation between general education and vocational training.

The term “the national character of the literary creation” is in the base of our research showing how the language material can reflect peculiar features of a certain culture. Language and culture meet each other with the help of a concept. Usually an interpreter translates only a conceptual component, as a rule ignoring an associative-cultural one. In our work we reveal lexemes which reflect national concepts of Little Russia and analyze English translation of them. On the basis of Little Russian songs from the stories “The fair of Sorochinetz” and “A night in May or drowned maiden” we are revealing lexemes which reflect national Little Russian concepts, which are given in the texts of songs as ethnographic and political realia and analyzing a specific character of their translation into English.

The article deals with the problem of teaching technical students to professional foreign vocabulary in relation to the joining “Initiative CDIO” which is an innovative educational framework for producing the next generation of engineers and the demand for specialists with the knowledge of a foreign language at work. It defines the difficulties of getting a lexical skill in speaking and problem solving activities. The article discloses psychological basics of learning a word as a complicated mechanism, which includes both visual-hearing-motional structure and semantics. It describes the approaches to teaching professional foreign vocabulary existing today. As a result, it suggests implementing exercises based on a list of words, which proves their effectiveness; it demonstrates the examples by giving a list of words (short phrases) on a particular professional topic and different tasks to motivate and encourage students to learn, practice and use the vocabulary in speaking. Communicative approach in teaching foreign languages presupposes the use of sets of instructions, situational correlation, communicativity, functionality while organizing these exercises. Creation of comfortable educational environment contributes to students’ motivation in the process of professional lexical skill formation and development. It is important to take into consideration learners’ individual peculiarities, interests, likes and needs to achieve better results in teaching professional foreign vocabulary.

The author deals with substantial components of such concepts as BEAUTY, USE, HARM, HEALTH. The concepts mentioned are significant for Russian consciousness and are connected with ideas of outward appearance and plainness, use and harm. On the basis of the material analyzed, the stereotypes reflecting these notions’ interrelations are revealed, the changes in Russian linguistic worldimage are set. The author also describes the techniques for creating advertising messages, which are based on operations with cognitive structures. Description of linguistic worldimage of the world fragments with the help of different materials makes it possible to enlarge the insight about national features of material and spiritual culture of Russian people. It also helps to realize the peculiarities of Russian mentality.
