| 852 | The article discusses the communication specifics of engineering society in relation to the scientific discourse. It also studies the special features of the agent in the engineering communication as one of the key areas of modern life which provides the technological progress of industry as well as the research potential for education. The rise of the engineering professional society was due to the introduction and development of industry as a social force. 19th century introduced the position of the engineer which was strengthened in 20th century in the same way as the corporate societies of other specialists had been developed before. However, the corporate engineering society has not been studied yet either with the reflection of the professional image nor in the communication aspect. There are just few studies which consider the engineering communication as the texts of scientific and technical style but not as an independent object to be studied. The studies in the cognitive and discursive linguistics made the methodological basis of this paper including discourse analysis, scientific discourse studies, the research in functional linguistics and genre studies, the professional language and communication and the concept structure as well. The results were obtained by techniques of discourse analysis, textual, definition and component analysis as well as the qualitative evaluation of the associative dictionary data, the corpora analysis and the analysis of the search engine data. The materials included the encyclopaedia data, dictionaries, Russian National corpora, a body of technical standards. The paper solves the following issues: the boundaries of engineering communication as a certain discourse area, the description of key institutional parameters, the boundaries of engineering discourse against the scientific discourse: purpose, participants, the genre structure. Also, the key agent of the engineering communication was defined: the boundaries of the engineer concept, at which core the image of a specialist with a university degree is. The engineering definition is updated due to the complication and recent development of the engineering activity. The professional communication in engineering sphere traditionally regarded by Russian linguists as a part of the scientific discourse was identified as a separate institutional discourse based on certain compositionally crucial parameters. | 853 | Introduction. The novella by Evgeni Vodolazkin “Close Friends» hasn’t yet attracted close attention of literary critics. In our opinion, an important role in the novella is played by the historic, literary and culturological context which has not become an object of special research. The analysis of intertextuality will allow us to reveal a wider problematics of the work than that shown in plot logic. The aim of the work is to investigate the artistic and thematic originality of the novella “Close Friends”. Material and methods. The paper uses comparative, contrastive, historical and cultural methods. As a theoretical base, works of Russian and foreign literary critics were used. Results and discussion. Intertextuality and historical and cultural context are the basic ways of disclosing the problematics of the novella. The works mentioned in the text (“Death in Venice” by T. Mann, “The Sorrows of Young Werther” by J. W. Goethe, etc.), elements of ceremonial games (initiation) help to understand what is happening in the consciousness of the hero and which experiences become defining for him. Allusion plan of the novella allows us to find deeper sense and to correlate the problematics of “Close Friends” with a certain literary context in the everyday actions of characters. Conclusion. In the work, we can define several levels of narration: symbolical, historical and that of everyday. At the everyday level, Ernestina’s behaviour and actions are illogical and inconsistent: while demanding to keep the oath from the friends, she breaks it, being guided by the not realised desires and physiological requirements. At the symbolical level, Ernestina is the carrier of secret knowledge, and her actions are dictated by the aspiration to preserve the family, procreate, which turns her into the embodiment of creating forces of nature. Ralf is a carrier of historical knowledge and, consequently, comprehension of historical guilt of Germany towards Russian people. The fulfilment of the childhood oath protects him from the chaos of life, fills the life with sense. The final reunion of the dead and alive on the cemetery – on the locus of the sharpest historical and cultural experiences – symbolises the unity and continuity of the generations resisting to the disaster of separation, and, consequently – overcoming the disintegration, destruction. | 863 | The category of certainty-uncertainty is a significant communicative category. This category is universal and in different languages it is expressed by various means. In the Russian language there are no special indicators of certainty-uncertainty – articles, however, these values are expressed by a variety of means, belonging to different language levels. In this regard, the word order is an important and interesting object for linguistic research. As a grammatical means, word order can convey not only information, but also the speaker’s attitude to the information or the situation of communication, and also specify the content of the spoken messages from the point of view of certainty-uncertainty. Based on the analysis of a large number of examples, the authors demonstrate the important role of word order in the Russian language, while in Persian there are more «tangible» grammatical means, such as the Persian indefinite article ی – ye. At the same time, the order of words in the Persian language in the value expression of certainty-uncertainty is of no importance. The ability of word order in the Russian language to perform a variety of functions, including expression of the categorial meaning of certainty- uncertainty, leads to a number of problems arising in the process of studying the Russian language by the Iranian students. | 879 | Introduction. The importance of the poetics of intertextuality in the novels of the modernist writer Lena Eltang has been repeatedly emphasized by critics and researchers. The appeal to the intertext increases the semantic density of the narrative, serves to convey the specifics of the consciousness of Eltang characters that exist in parallel in the realities of social relations and culture/texts. Material and methods. Intertextual and motivational analysis based on the works of I. Smirnov, M. Gasparov, B. Gasparov, and I. Paperno was applied. Also, the theoretical basis of the research is the works of folklorists and psychologists devoted to the motivational structure of folklore tales about an orphan girl, the plot of initiation (O. M. Freudenberg, E. N. Eleonskaya, R. Efimkin, etc.). The research material is Lena Eltang’s novel “Stone maples”. The purpose of the work is to identify the semantics and functions of the fairy-tale intertext in Lena Eltang’s modernist novel “Stone maples”. Results and discussion. The analysis of the novel allowed us to establish the correspondence of the plot logic of the novel to the motivational structure of the magic and literary fairy tale illustrating the stages of initiation. But, firstly, unlike a fairy tale, the Eltang novel is a prose of a “stream of consciousness”, focused on the disclosure of the inner world of a person. Secondly, the complex subject organization of the novel text, compared to the fairy tale, allowed Eltang to build allusions to fairy tales of different subtypes (about female and male initiation) in the storylines of different characters. The main character of the novel Sasha Sonley is building an association of his life with a fairy tale. In its storyline, it is important not only to match the archetypal plot, but also to try to change it. Despite individual efforts, the fate of the central heroine is built in accordance with a fabulous invariant about an orphan girl (in which the author’s, supra-personal will is manifested): mother’s death, loss of father’s protection; con frontation to stepmother; rivalry with stepsister; victory of the stepdaughter thanks to a magical means (maternal amulet), which also contributes to the search for the groom. The function of the mother’s talisman in the novel is performed by Travnik – “secret notebook”, which combines the diary and the set of recipes for traditional medicine. It is perceived as a channel of communication with the deceased mother, plays a key role in finding the intended. Conclusion. Despite efforts to “rewrite” the fairy-tale narrative, Sasha is forced to go through the entire archetypal plot of initiation before rebirth, restoration of harmony. In the spirit of modernism, based equally on the achievement of psychoanalysis and cultural archaic model, the plot of initiation of the heroes of the fable is built in accordance with a folk tale, but this outwardly-event outline corresponds to the inner story is psychologically complex living of its late maturity, separation from feelings of guilt towards parents and resentment toward them, parting with the past for the future. | 886 | In the study of polysemantic words in syntagmatic aspect it is necessary to speak specially about the specifics of its functioning in fiction. In the context of everyday speech the word tends to semantic identity, but in the literary text polysemantic word is not only able to maintain its ambiguity, but also seeks to realize this property. Such feature of functioning of polysemantic lexicon in the literary text is caused by two defining characteristics of the literary text – they are “the intention for maximum information saturation” (Yu. M. Lotman) and imaginative (figurative) speech concretization. The increased load of meaning and imagery are direct factors of aesthetic value of the text. The purpose of the work is to analyze the semantic and stylistic features of the functioning of the polysemantic word in the poetry of A. A. Voznesensky. High metaphoricalness, expressivity, unexpected semantic effects characterize his creative manner. Therefore, the main methods of research are semantic and stylistic analysis, contextual analysis and aesthetic interpretation. A large number of examples prove that semantic increment and visibility of the image in Voznesensky’s poems are achieved both by contrasting the meanings of a polysemous word and by combining them. The author skillfully uses the resource of the lexical polysemy to enhance lyricism or drama of the text, to express avant-garde aesthetics, philosophy of mutual assimilation and interrelation of all things. Among the methods of aesthetic refraction of polysemy of the word actualized by the author are semantic layers and shifts, accentuation of the literal meaning of the word, putting on the first plan of some semantic components of the word and the neutralization of others, the creation of the occasional meaning of the word as a result of the individual author’s associative transfer of meaning, «flicker» of meanings, the unexpected activation of the implicit meaning of the word. The examples illustrate the methods of erased metaphors and metonymy revival. There are traditions of Mayakovsky and Pasternak in some features of metaphorical transfer. The results of the study may be interesting to clarify the features of the individual style of A. A. Voznesensky, stylistic and rhetorical functions of polysemy, semantic potential of the word. Keywords: polysemantic word, semantics, stylistics of the text, language of the literary text, poetic speech, A. A. Voznesensky | 2173 | |||||
| 887 | Introduction. The article investigates the lexical means of the symbolic and metaphorical representation of the concept of “Fire” in M. Bulgakov’s novel “The Master and Margarita” in terms of their language semantics and cultural connotations, analyzes the significance of this artistic concept for expressing the author’s worldview. The purpose of the work is to investigate the ways of linguistic representation of the concept of “Fire” in the text of the novel “The Master and Margarita”, to identify aspects of their metaphorical and symbolic interpretation at the verbal and conceptual levels, to study the role of this concept in the artistic worldview of the novel. Material and methods. The methodology of work is based on cognitive, linguoculturological and systemicstructural approaches in the study of the figurativeness of the language and artistic speech used in the field of semantics of linguistic units and stylistics of text. The empirical material consists of figurative words and expressions (143 units) which represent the concept of Fire in M. Bulgakov’s novel “The Master and Margarita”, as well as fragments of the text demonstrating its symbolic and metaphorical functioning (160 contexts). Bulgakov’s novel “The Master and Margarita” were defined the lexical and textual fund of artistic representations of the concept “Fire”; there were revealed methods and techniques of its textual implementation. The cultural and symbolic meanings of the concept were investigated in the mythology of different cultures. The aspects of the metaphorical and symbolic interpretation of this concept were described in the artistic worldview of the novel “The Master and Margarita”, as well as its role in expressing the author’s intention. Conclusion. The concept of “Fire” is represented in the text structure by a multitude of direct and metaphorical lexical representations expressing various aspects of the manifestation of the fire element through a system of zoomorphic, anthropomorphic, somatic images. Images of fire form the basis for a metaphorical description of a wide range of phenomena of the surrounding world (parts of the human body, precious stones, celestial bodies, everyday objects) and the human inner world (feelings, emotions, conditions). | 899 | Introduction. Professional identity formation of the future specialist is one of the most relevant topics of the whole range of humanitarian studies. However, to date, there is a limited number of works that directly provide theoretically sound practical recommendations on the features of shaping professional identity. We believe that this process should be accompanied by serious linguistic studies, especially when it comes to the formation of a foreign-language professional identity of a teacher of foreign languages and cultures. Aim and objectives. The purpose of the work is to build the axiological conceptual sphere of the modern pedagogical discursive space and, subsequently, to identify the correlation dependence of linguistic-axiological manipulation and the process of forming the foreign-language professional identity of the future teacher. The main tasks of the study are forming the texts corpus; carrying out of pragmatic and content analysis of selected texts; identifying discursive and axiological components of fragments of pedagogical discourse to adequately construct the axiological sphere of discourse; determining the level of manipulative impact on the addressee by updating the identified elements of the axiological sphere of the studied discursive space; synthesizing the obtained data and determining the features of selfidentification of the teacher’s personality when they perceive value-loaded texts through the corresponding suggestive effect. Material and methods. The study was based on 15 written texts of pedagogical discourse compiled by professionals for English teachers and belonging to a specific structural part of the book – “Introduction”. A comprehensive method of data analysis is used, combining the method of discourse analysis, the method of conceptual analysis, the method of pragmalinguistic analysis, as well as the method of quantitative processing of the obtained data. Results and discussion. In connection with the multidimensional nature of the study, a detailed literary review is given, including the analysis of the topics of the teacher’s professional identity, the linguistic-axiological factor of the identity formation and the linguistic content of productive speech manipulation. A comprehensive pragma-axiological study revealed 5 basic axiological concepts that form the axiological conceptual sphere of the educational discourse under study: DEVELOPMENT, ENJOYMENT, NOVELTY, EFFECTIVENESS, READINESS, verbalization of each of which is a way of productive manipulation of the potential addressee’s consciousness. Manipulation is carried out at the expense of a certain functional range of lexical units-verbalizers of these concepts. The obtained results make it possible to build the axiological conceptual sphere of the considered pedagogical discursive space, as well as to identify the correlation dependence of the functional range of pragma-axiologically charged lexical units-verbalizers with manipulative effect on a potential addressee. Conclusion. Also, for further study of the presented topics, the hypothesis of cultural manipulation is put forward, according to which the axiological pedagogical guidelines available in the Anglo-Saxon tradition determine the model of behavior of teachers belonging to other cultural and ethnic substrates, but studying according to their methodology.
