Reveals the following formal features of author television programs: 1) author of the program is its presenter; 2) “author” status is declared in the title of the program or in the definition of its genre / format; 3) the presenter of the program is self-positioned as its author; 4) the name of presenter is used as the name of the program.

Tchernyavskaya Y.O., Baygulova M.N. ARTISTIC AND IDEOLOGICAL-THEMATIC ORIGINALITY OF THE NOVELLA BY EVGENY VODOLAZKIN “CLOSE FRIENDS”. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2020. Issue 3 (209). P. 63-71

Introduction. The novella by Evgeni Vodolazkin “Close Friends» hasn’t yet attracted close attention of literary critics. In our opinion, an important role in the novella is played by the historic, literary and culturological context which has not become an object of special research. The analysis of intertextuality will allow us to reveal a wider problematics of the work than that shown in plot logic. The aim of the work is to investigate the artistic and thematic originality of the novella “Close Friends”. Material and methods. The paper uses comparative, contrastive, historical and cultural methods. As a theoretical base, works of Russian and foreign literary critics were used. Results and discussion. Intertextuality and historical and cultural context are the basic ways of disclosing the problematics of the novella. The works mentioned in the text (“Death in Venice” by T. Mann, “The Sorrows of Young Werther” by J. W. Goethe, etc.), elements of ceremonial games (initiation) help to understand what is happening in the consciousness of the hero and which experiences become defining for him. Allusion plan of the novella allows us to find deeper sense and to correlate the problematics of “Close Friends” with a certain literary context in the everyday actions of characters. Conclusion. In the work, we can define several levels of narration: symbolical, historical and that of everyday. At the everyday level, Ernestina’s behaviour and actions are illogical and inconsistent: while demanding to keep the oath from the friends, she breaks it, being guided by the not realised desires and physiological requirements. At the symbolical level, Ernestina is the carrier of secret knowledge, and her actions are dictated by the aspiration to preserve the family, procreate, which turns her into the embodiment of creating forces of nature. Ralf is a carrier of historical knowledge and, consequently, comprehension of historical guilt of Germany towards Russian people. The fulfilment of the childhood oath protects him from the chaos of life, fills the life with sense. The final reunion of the dead and alive on the cemetery – on the locus of the sharpest historical and cultural experiences – symbolises the unity and continuity of the generations resisting to the disaster of separation, and, consequently – overcoming the disintegration, destruction.

Zhu Z., Yurina E.A. SYMBOLIC AND METAPHORIC REPRESENTATIONS OF THE CONCEPT “FIRE” IN THE LEXICAL STRUCTURE OF THE TEXT IN M. BULGAKOV’S NOVEL “THE MASTER AND MARGARITA”. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2020. Issue 4 (210). P. 70-79

Introduction. The article investigates the lexical means of the symbolic and metaphorical representation of the concept of “Fire” in M. Bulgakov’s novel “The Master and Margarita” in terms of their language semantics and cultural connotations, analyzes the significance of this artistic concept for expressing the author’s worldview. The purpose of the work is to investigate the ways of linguistic representation of the concept of “Fire” in the text of the novel “The Master and Margarita”, to identify aspects of their metaphorical and symbolic interpretation at the verbal and conceptual levels, to study the role of this concept in the artistic worldview of the novel. Material and methods. The methodology of work is based on cognitive, linguoculturological and systemicstructural approaches in the study of the figurativeness of the language and artistic speech used in the field of semantics of linguistic units and stylistics of text. The empirical material consists of figurative words and expressions (143 units) which represent the concept of Fire in M. Bulgakov’s novel “The Master and Margarita”, as well as fragments of the text demonstrating its symbolic and metaphorical functioning (160 contexts). Sources of definition of linguistic meanings and mythopoetic symbols were published explanatory and encyclopedic dictionaries. Results and discussion. In M. Bulgakov’s novel “The Master and Margarita” were defined the lexical and textual fund of artistic representations of the concept “Fire”; there were revealed methods and techniques of its textual implementation. The cultural and symbolic meanings of the concept were investigated in the mythology of different cultures. The aspects of the metaphorical and symbolic interpretation of this concept were described in the artistic worldview of the novel “The Master and Margarita”, as well as its role in expressing the author’s intention. Conclusion. The concept of “Fire” is represented in the text structure by a multitude of direct and metaphorical lexical representations expressing various aspects of the manifestation of the fire element through a system of zoomorphic, anthropomorphic, somatic images. Images of fire form the basis for a metaphorical description of a wide range of phenomena of the surrounding world (parts of the human body, precious stones, celestial bodies, everyday objects) and the human inner world (feelings, emotions, conditions). The symbolism of this system of images has deep mythopoetic roots and translates the main meanings of the ideological content of the work.

Snisar A.Y. AMERICAN MASS MEDIA TEXT AS A SPHERE OF REALIZATION OF NEOLOGISMS. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2017. Issue 10 (187). P. 112-117

Rapid growth of neologisms in the American English causes the relevance of this research. Current linguistic researches (A. R. Nagiyeva, S. N. Shidlovskaya, I. Yu. Chernysh, Yu. E. Shadrina, E. S. Razheva, O. A. Guryanova, A. M. Khayrullina, E. A. Hudinshai other) don’t cover all functional features of neologisms in the modern American English. It is supposed that exactly American mass media sphere is one of the main producing zones of neologisms. But nowadays there isn`t complex research of the American mass media sphere in terms of existing and functioning neologisms there. This fact causes necessity to investigate the main reasons for creation of neologisms in the American mass media sphere and to define their functional status there. Theoretical results of this research contribute to systematization of the existing knowledge of the nature of neologisms. Practical significance of the research is that it can be used as a base for lexicographic fascination of the neologisms which have appeared in XXI century. It is shown that mass media is one of the main spheres where neologism appear and function. Most of them are a result of appearance of new forms of Internet resources, equipment and solutions. There are in the research examples of neologism with the explanation of their meaning and peculiarities of realization in the American mass media sphere. It is stressed that most of neologisms are connotative words, which are used to achieve some effect (pragmatical, ironical, actional, etc.).

Sarkisova A.Y. SEMANTIC AND STYLISTIC PECULIARITIES OF POLYSEMANTIC WORDS IN THE POETIC TEXTS OF A. A. VOZNESENSKY. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2019. Issue 4 (201). P. 129-137

In the study of polysemantic words in syntagmatic aspect it is necessary to speak specially about the specifics of its functioning in fiction. In the context of everyday speech the word tends to semantic identity, but in the literary text polysemantic word is not only able to maintain its ambiguity, but also seeks to realize this property. Such feature of functioning of polysemantic lexicon in the literary text is caused by two defining characteristics of the literary text – they are “the intention for maximum information saturation” (Yu. M. Lotman) and imaginative (figurative) speech concretization. The increased load of meaning and imagery are direct factors of aesthetic value of the text. The purpose of the work is to analyze the semantic and stylistic features of the functioning of the polysemantic word in the poetry of A. A. Voznesensky. High metaphoricalness, expressivity, unexpected semantic effects characterize his creative manner. Therefore, the main methods of research are semantic and stylistic analysis, contextual analysis and aesthetic interpretation. A large number of examples prove that semantic increment and visibility of the image in Voznesensky’s poems are achieved both by contrasting the meanings of a polysemous word and by combining them. The author skillfully uses the resource of the lexical polysemy to enhance lyricism or drama of the text, to express avant-garde aesthetics, philosophy of mutual assimilation and interrelation of all things. Among the methods of aesthetic refraction of polysemy of the word actualized by the author are semantic layers and shifts, accentuation of the literal meaning of the word, putting on the first plan of some semantic components of the word and the neutralization of others, the creation of the occasional meaning of the word as a result of the individual author’s associative transfer of meaning, «flicker» of meanings, the unexpected activation of the implicit meaning of the word. The examples illustrate the methods of erased metaphors and metonymy revival. There are traditions of Mayakovsky and Pasternak in some features of metaphorical transfer. The results of the study may be interesting to clarify the features of the individual style of A. A. Voznesensky, stylistic and rhetorical functions of polysemy, semantic potential of the word.

The author pays close attention to the issues of taking into account the peculiarities of the legal text. The author defines the basic methods of removing difficulties when dealing with English-language legal literature, for example, by creating a bank of textual material and brief comments on individual terms and concepts. The text should serve to further develop skills of professionally-oriented reading in the specialty, as well as filling the vocabulary. The Anglo-Saxon system of law is a unique system that is based on completely different principles than the common law system. Acquaintance with its specifics within the framework of legal courses in the native language is practically absent and does not provide some acceptable extralinguistic basis for effective reading of English-language legal literature. The article deals with the impact of Kierkegaard’s ideas on Thornton Wilder’s philosophical novels. Far from being the only major influence, this impact helps to make clear certain ideological points in the writer’s works and cannot be underestimated. After discovering Kierkegaard’s works in his early youth, Thornton Wilder kept returning to them during all his life. As a result, Kierkegaard’s philosophical ideas managed to find their way into most of Wilder’s novels, though the writer didn’t simply illustrate them with his own examples but made them an integral part of his own world, blending them with his own ideas, and entering into some controversy with them in his later works. At different stages of his writing career Wilder gave special attention to different aspects of Kierkegaard’s philosophy. The concept of faith was central to his early books, from The Cabala to Heaven’s My Destination; the concept of freedom became important in his mature works, The Ides of March in particular; while his last novels, The Eighth Day and Theophilus North, developed the idea of creative evolution.

Introduction. The concept of a toponym as a marker of the geographical space and the role of toponymy in the scientific system are revealed. The role of the toponym included as a component of the phraseological unit and the cultural value of these idioms are determined. The relevance of the research, its purpose and novelty are substantiated. Material and methods. The research material is the phraseological units of the modern English language with a toponym as a component (213 units). The methods of the study are the statistical method and the method of the linguacultural analysis. Results and discussion. Toponymic phraseological units reflect and verbalize the various segments of the objective reality including the material and spiritual world of a personality. Toponymic phraseological units reveal a person’s attitude to the reality surrounding him/her, a person’s attitude to the people near him/her and the attitude to self. They also analyze the external and internal aspects of the personality, focusing the view on the appearance of a man or woman, on his/her voice, on gait, on mental state of mind, on the moral qualities and the character of a personality. The image of a personality creating by phraseological units can be positive or negative one. Conclusion. Any toponym (especially if it belongs to the “native” culture) has a national identity. It reflects (except the historical, territorial and geographical peculiarities of the nation), the national mentality, character, and specific features of the people’s life. The English phraseological units with a toponym as a component reflect the national identity as well. These idioms are divided into two large groups: 1) those which show the material comforts of the everyday life and 2) those which tell us about the inward habits of the people. Toponymic phraseological units of the second group include six subgroups. Subgroups including the idioms reflecting the people’s attitude to the social reality and to the other people prevail.

Kavand M. WORD ORDER OF AS A MEANS OF EXPRESSION OF THE CATEGORIY OF CЕRTAINTY-UNCERTAINTY IN RUSSIAN AND METHODS TO CONVEY ITS MEANING TO PERSIAN. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2018. Issue 2 (191). P. 148-152

The category of certainty-uncertainty is a significant communicative category. This category is universal and in different languages it is expressed by various means. In the Russian language there are no special indicators of certainty-uncertainty – articles, however, these values are expressed by a variety of means, belonging to different language levels. In this regard, the word order is an important and interesting object for linguistic research. As a grammatical means, word order can convey not only information, but also the speaker’s attitude to the information or the situation of communication, and also specify the content of the spoken messages from the point of view of certainty-uncertainty. Based on the analysis of a large number of examples, the authors demonstrate the important role of word order in the Russian language, while in Persian there are more «tangible» grammatical means, such as the Persian indefinite article ی – ye. At the same time, the order of words in the Persian language in the value expression of certainty-uncertainty is of no importance. The ability of word order in the Russian language to perform a variety of functions, including expression of the categorial meaning of certainty- uncertainty, leads to a number of problems arising in the process of studying the Russian language by the Iranian students. The word order is actively used as a means of expressing certainty- uncertainty, and therefore when teaching the Russian language, it is necessary to explain, firstly, its significance as a means of expressing this category in the Russian language, and secondly, how it is transmitted in the translation into Persian.

The article investigates an important modern publishing strategy – a literary collection of stories concentrated on one theme and introducing the reader to a wide range of contemporary writers. The theme of the city is a text dominant in two analyzed books («Moscow: the meeting place» (2017) and «To live in Saint-Petersburg» (2017). It becomes the basis of forming the text of urban non-fiction with highest possible personal identity, which is expressed by frequent use of personal pronouns I, we, my and various toponyms significant to this or that author. The writer’s unique perception of the city allows to consider the text as a personal document which especially actualises the concept «memory». The importance of the autobiographical component typical for modern literary discourse and especially for non-fiction texts is seen on each text level. The conducted analysis leads to the conclusion that the texts of the two books can be viewed as thematically related non-fiction super-texts which demonstrate different perception of Moscow and Saint-Petersburg in the cultural space. Bagiyan A.Y., Monogarova A.G. LINGUISTIC-AXIOLOGICAL MANIPULATION AS AN ELEMENT OF TEACHER PROFESSIONAL IDENTITY FORMATION. Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2022. Issue 1 (219). P. 43-53

Introduction. Professional identity formation of the future specialist is one of the most relevant topics of the whole range of humanitarian studies. However, to date, there is a limited number of works that directly provide theoretically sound practical recommendations on the features of shaping professional identity. We believe that this process should be accompanied by serious linguistic studies, especially when it comes to the formation of a foreign-language professional identity of a teacher of foreign languages and cultures. Aim and objectives. The purpose of the work is to build the axiological conceptual sphere of the modern pedagogical discursive space and, subsequently, to identify the correlation dependence of linguistic-axiological manipulation and the process of forming the foreign-language professional identity of the future teacher. The main tasks of the study are forming the texts corpus; carrying out of pragmatic and content analysis of selected texts; identifying discursive and axiological components of fragments of pedagogical discourse to adequately construct the axiological sphere of discourse; determining the level of manipulative impact on the addressee by updating the identified elements of the axiological sphere of the studied discursive space; synthesizing the obtained data and determining the features of selfidentification of the teacher’s personality when they perceive value-loaded texts through the corresponding suggestive effect. Material and methods. The study was based on 15 written texts of pedagogical discourse compiled by professionals for English teachers and belonging to a specific structural part of the book – “Introduction”. A comprehensive method of data analysis is used, combining the method of discourse analysis, the method of conceptual analysis, the method of pragmalinguistic analysis, as well as the method of quantitative processing of the obtained data. Results and discussion. In connection with the multidimensional nature of the study, a detailed literary review is given, including the analysis of the topics of the teacher’s professional identity, the linguistic-axiological factor of the identity formation and the linguistic content of productive speech manipulation. A comprehensive pragma-axiological study revealed 5 basic axiological concepts that form the axiological conceptual sphere of the educational discourse under study: DEVELOPMENT, ENJOYMENT, NOVELTY, EFFECTIVENESS, READINESS, verbalization of each of which is a way of productive manipulation of the potential addressee’s consciousness. Manipulation is carried out at the expense of a certain functional range of lexical units-verbalizers of these concepts. The obtained results make it possible to build the axiological conceptual sphere of the considered pedagogical discursive space, as well as to identify the correlation dependence of the functional range of pragma-axiologically charged lexical units-verbalizers with manipulative effect on a potential addressee. Conclusion. Also, for further study of the presented topics, the hypothesis of cultural manipulation is put forward, according to which the axiological pedagogical guidelines available in the Anglo-Saxon tradition determine the model of behavior of teachers belonging to other cultural and ethnic substrates, but studying according to their methodology.
