| 5051 | The article deals with the linguodidactic potential of jargon, realized in the classes on teaching Russian as a foreign language in the Chinese audience. The main attention is paid to different uses of jargon for the implementation of the linguistic goal of teaching a foreigner to the colloquial Russian language, through which interpersonal communication is carried out in the conditions of everyday interaction. The relevance of the article is due to the growing importance of multicultural communication and the strengthening of Russian-Chinese contacts, including linguistic ones. The scientific novelty of the issue under consideration is the possibility of examining the extraliterary linguistic facts (in this study – jargon) from the point of view of linguodidactic and linguistic cultural units used in classes in Russian as a foreign language in the Chinese audience. As an empirical material for our research, texts written in various Internet genres were used: blogs, correspondence in chats and forums, posts in social networks. As a material for the study, we considered the texts of the decoding of the audio recordings of the speech of the characters in the television series and the heroes of the TV show. All these varieties of oral and written texts can serve as a linguistic guideline for mastering the Russian language as a foreign language. In them, in huge numbers, there are extra-literary units, including jargon. Note that the stated texts are oriented, in majority, to the youth part of the viewers and Internet users. | 5052 | Within the new direction of social history, the subject field of which is the study of the social processes that accompanied the global conflicts of the 20th century, forms an objective idea about the attitude of the French-Canadian population on the problem of Canada‘s participation in the collective defense of the British Empire during the First World War. The paper examines the views of various groups of French-Canadian society (provincial government of Quebec, Roman Catholic Church’s representatives, French Canadian nationalists, provincial press of different social and political orientation) on the question of sending French-Canadian battalions to Europe. The chronology of the described events includes the first five months of the First World War (August – December 1914). As a result of the research, it estimates the level of imperial loyalty of the population of Quebec on the question of Canada‘s participation in the imperial wars. It studies the objective and subjective factors of the passivity of voluntary recruitment in Quebec (lack of military experience of the French-Canadian population, insufficient number of provincial police forces, traditionalism of the the rural population, anti-militarism propaganda of French-Canadian pacifists and nationalists, imperial policy of Department of Militia in Federal Government). It determines the role of the social movement for the creation of separate French-Canadian battalions in the process of activating recruitment and sending volunteers to the front. | 5053 | Being a universal means of communication, search, storage and transmission of information, the Internet has become an integral element of our lives. The relevance of the study is due to the fact that in modern linguistics the texts of Internet communication attract much attention of scientists. The Internet culture is closely connected with the implementation of various humorous intentions, and the success of virtual (informal) communication depends on the comic component. The article concerns the role of self-presentation at the forming of virtual personality during Internet communication. The object of study is the mechanism for creating negative self-presentation with the help of humorous means. The authors aim to systemize the present approaches to the strategy of self-presentation. The importance of humoristic means in the realization of intentions of different kinds at the virtual communication is stressed. Humor is a kind of non-stereotyped cognitive processing of the perception of the incongruous and absurd things in the surrounding reality. This is an attempt to break the dogmatism of the template way of reflecting the surrounding world order, emphasizing its inconsistency and absurdity. The author also analyzes effective means of actualization of negative self-presentation in the virtual environment such as trolling, Internet jargon, mems and taboos. The authors stress global scope, anonymousness and indirect communication in the virtual world providing new prospects for the personal self-presentation. | 5061 | Study of traditional consciousness and peculiarities of popular culture bearers’ worldview on the material of textual dialect speech corpora is an urgent task of linguistic culturology and cognitive linguistics. Representative textual collections of everyday dialect speech only recently became a source of reconstruction of traditional worldview. The purpose of this work is a study of religious knowledge and ideas role and content in the worldview of dialect speakers. The analysis of religious subjects discourse fragments, picked out of a general speech flow, has shown that the religious component is a significant part of a general world picture and of popular culture bearers’ linguistic consciousness. Reflections on God, Christian saints, orthodox holidays and memorable dates of Church calendar, church services and rituals, religious writings, religious figures, trends and heterodox people, plots of Christian mythology occupy an important place in dialect speakers’ narratives. The notions of religious sphere often become the objects of dialect speakers’ reflection in their conversations with dialectologists. The religious subjects discourse fragments often contain such means expressing reflection as explanatory constructions, repetitions, periphrasis, generalizing (often evaluative) remarks, addresses to interlocutors with the purpose of checking up the degree of speech understanding, rhetoric questions. The communicative peculiarities of religious thematic fragments – increased metalinguistic reflection against a background of a feeble, in general, speech awareness of popular speech culture bearers – show that the elements of religious worldview are an important constituent part of dialect speakers’ cultural identity, occupying a central place in the popular tradition bearers’ value system. | 5078 | The present article is devoted to the problem of the category of doubt as representative of interference and convergence of late Lermontov’s and early Dostoevsky’s artistic worlds. The category of doubt is central on epoch’s boundary as it reveals the transitivity of the world in 1830–1840s. and a state of total criticism. Firstly, this category is considered a central epoch’s philosophical problem and secondly, a problem of narrative methods. As a philosophical problem, category of doubt gave birth to a new type of hero and new methods of psychologisation, which caused different changes and transitions from doubt through uncertainty to the condition of hopelessness and hero’s self-recognition of powerlessness towards actions and choices. As a result, the doubting intellectual is replaced by the sick consciousness of a “small man” (“malen’kiy chelovek”), who loses his trust being in doubts and lives under the condition of fear and anxiety. The narrative aspect of the category of doubt determines the combinatorics of plots’ lines, the overlay of psychological conditions, the retardation of narration. All this produces the parts’ montage in some texts which comes along with rhetorical questions which intensify the doubt. In relation to our research the concept ‘academic medical discourse’ consists in the following: this type of discourse is scientific communication the aim of which is the concept of detailed transfer of information steps (on the corresponding subject: diagnostics, treatment and recommendation) which needs to be reported, analyzed and discussed for acceptance of the main results. As a result, the concept ‘academic medical discourse’ is considered as scientific communication the aim of which is the concept of detailed transfer of information steps on estimated strategy of diagnostics, treatments and recommendations (see: strategy of all dangers, services of a hospice, correlation of the bill, “grapevine”), exposed to discussion for acceptance of the main results. The analysis of the examples from the texts of academic medical discourse contains phraseological units representing opposition ‘good –evil’. It is claimed that the evaluation presented in the opposition form “good – evil” can be correlated to the use of phraseological units being one of the ways of expression of a positive/negative evaluation in the contexts of academic medical discourse of different linguocultural communities. | 5097 | Advertising influence is seen as manifestation of discourse social power, which is realized in different linguistically encoded forms of mental control over the target audience. It is analyzed in terms of representational structures – text worlds (mental representations) created in advertising discourse to establish relations between participants of communication. PRODUCER, PRODUCT and ADDRESSEE are the core elements in the structure of text worlds created in separate communicative acts. Text world is considered a generic term encompassing the notion of basic text world and sub-worlds, which are either participant-accessible or character-accessible. Sub-worlds projected in British advertising discourse are stated to differ depending upon the pragmatic perspective. The former have the effect of providing greater significance to the rational element of promoting the product, while the latter focus on entertaining aspects of advertising often associated with fiction.
