| 5054 | We consider two types of modifications of Born-Infeld gravity in the Palatini formulation and explore their dynamics in the early universe. One of these families considers f(R) corrections to the Born-Infeld Lagrangian, which can be seen as modifications of the dynamics produced by the quantum effects of matter, while the other consists on different powers of the elementary building block of the Born-Infeld Lagrangian, which we denote by |Ωˆ|. We find that the two types of nonsingular solutions that arise in the original Born-Infeld theory are also present in these extensions, being bouncing solutions a stable and robust branch. Singular solutions with a period of approximate de Sitter inflation are found even in universes dominated by radiation. | 5055 | The article discusses a topical problem of child abuse in the family. The author identifies two approaches to the definition of the concept on the basis of theoretical analysis. A representative of the first approach uses external evaluation criteria of child abuse. This concept can be identified with some forms of violence and cruelty. A representative of the second approach uses criteria reflecting the intrinsic characteristics of the phenomenon. They concretize the psychological content of the concept. The author uses a value approach to the definition of child abuse in the family. | 5059 | The article presents an overview of rationales for euphemisms usage. We consider the problem from the point of psycholinguistics, social psychology, evolutionary biology and ethology. Biological researchers believe that a need for euphemisms could be one of the earliest linguistic imperatives imposed by disgust, thus euphemisms present a verbal hygiene strategy. Psychologists state that it is a distancing strategy, a means to manage human terror at the prospect of death. The article also considers the central role of politeness and cooperation principle in euphemistic and off-record indirect speech generation. From the perspective of the theory of strategic speaker indirect communication does not always involve pure cooperation between speaker and hearer but a mixture of cooperation and conflict and euphemising can be used to negotiate this uncertainty. Therefore, euphemism as a form of indirect proposition can allow for plausible deniability and has a strategic rationale. | 5060 | In the article we are talking about the interaction of the higher and secondary schools in the context of the implementation of the competence approach, on the one hand, as a manifestation of the openness and continuity of the modern educational process, on the other, as an important component of the university training of students who study in the field of Pedagogical Education. It is noted that a knowledge component in the university education of this contingent of trainees should be present sufficiently, and substantive training should necessarily be guided by future professional activity. In fact, university training in the subject area of students of a pedagogical university should use the criterion of applicability of information in future professional activity as a priority reference point in studying any topic of each subject block. In this connection, the student is obliged to know the normative base of general education, to have an idea of the programs implemented in the general education school, to be able to give them a competent assessment. The student should be familiar with a certain range of scientific and educational-methodical literature on the subject. The role of educational and production practices, research work, as well as network sites, stimulating students’ motivation for mastering the profession, social adaptation and personal growth, is also being updated in the process of the university training of students-philologists. As an example, the forms of network interaction practiced in the process of implementing the program “Formation of the professional culture of teachers in the new educational conditions” are analyzed as part of the network of the experimental site “school – university” (IAOU School No. 14 named after A. F. Lebedev, Tomsk – Tomsk State Pedagogical University). It is concluded that it is the orientation of a pedagogical university to a school and close interaction with it that will allow for the professional training of students-philologists in the context of the changed requirements of society, presented to the modern teacher. | 5061 | Introduction. Through Byzantium, Ancient Russia turned out to be the direct heir of Ancient Greece. The study of the interaction of these cultures is the study of the history of the preservation of spiritual values that were significant in antiquity and perceived and rethought by Russian culture: beauty, harmony, kalokagatiya, eidos and many others. The focus of our attention is the phenomenon of kalokagatiya. The aim of the article is to analyse the traditions of ancient kalokagatiya in the poetry of A. Polezhaev. Material and methods. The material of the study was A. Polezhaev’s poems with anthological poetics, which made it possible not only to trace the general evolution of anthological poetics in Russian lyrics, but also to note the features of its use in the poet’s work. The following research methods were used: biographical, genetic, comparative typological. The biographical method is significant in that it helps to reveal the prerequisites for Polezhaev’s interest in the heritage of antiquity. With the help of the genetic method, it is possible to identify the sources, genesis and evolution of the leading concepts of the anthological tradition, including with a central focus on the ideal of ancient kalokagatia that interests us in the Russian poetic tradition of the 19th century. The comparative-typological method gives the analysis the opportunity to find and present in the system similarities and differences in the poet’s interpretation of the topic of interest to us. Results and discussion. Ancient culture and its values, perceived by Russian culture through the means of Byzantium, have long been entrenched and reflected in Russian literature. For the anthological tradition of Russian lyric poetry and for poets who were close to anthological poetics, the concept of beauty in the callocagation sense becomes important. We consider callocagation as one of the manifestations of the ancient phenomenon of ‘plastic beauty’, which is the quintessence of the combination of internal and external beauty. Later, in the European culture of the modern era, new concepts are assigned to this phenomenon – a phenomenon that arises at the junction of different arts, that is, ekphrasis. An important variation of pictorial ekphrasis is the phenomenon of an imaginary portrait, closely related to the anthological tradition, created by the poet in the poem ‘Kartina’. An analysis of the lyrics of A. Polezhaev, in a number of poems tending to antological poetics, shows the poet’s interpretation of the phenomenon of callocagation. Beauty is interpreted by him not as a manifestation of universal harmony, on the contrary, harmonious beauty only confirms the unattainability of happiness for the lying-down hero. Polezhaev creates an inaccessible and beautiful ideal to which the hero aspires, but he causes only confusion, torment and crisis in the hero’s soul. Conclusion. In our work, we explored the features of perception, reflection and transformation / reincarnation of ancient ideals in the works of Polezhaev with anthological poetics. The phenomenon of plastic beauty is closely linked in its history with the idea of callocagation – the harmony of external and internal content. Polezhaev’s lyrics are distinguished by the peculiarities of the hero’s perception of beauty in the callocagation sense, refracted through the features of the godless romanticism and the poet’s worldview. | 5067 | Introduction. Terminology contributes to the representation of the world picture because each lexical unit fixes the experience of both a separate nation and the whole mankind. The result of their interaction can be found in the perceptual unity and uniform representation of the world. Verbs, designating special notions, are the verbal representation of pragmatically revised scholary insight, which reflect the pattern of thoughtway, bases of mental activity, professional background, cultural and linguistic competence of specialists. Aim and objectives. The aim of the article is to study verbs, which designate special medical notions, and to show that they are a universal means to represent the world picture of medicine, and as a means which help to reveal the tramline and functioning of scientific thought. Material and methods. The material of the investigation includes one- and multiword verbs and verb phrases which represent various medical processes. Etymological, word-building and definitional analyses are used. Results and discussion. Universality which is characteristic of the world picture of medicine is reflected in the use of Greek and Latin terminological elements in the structure of a verb. National characteristics appear in the use of morphological elements and lexical and semantic principles of word-building. The world pictures of sciences also reflect historical evolution of notions and terms which can be revealed in the processes of terminologization and determinologization of verbs which are used in the language of medicine. The history of the development of special medical verbs demonstrates the interaction of the everyday and scientific world pictures. It is proved by etymology of verbs and polysemy of verbs within the medical discourse and with the verbs functioning in other branches of science. Lexical units which represent various medical processes are a kind of propositional structures which show a definite area of the world picture in its entirety. Thus, they can demonstrate the process as a cognitive script, which demonstrates implicitly the array of actions. It is a kind of metonymical representation of the process which is put into verbs. Conclusion. A verb can be considered as a means to interpret the world picture of this or that field of science. In regards to language of medicine the verbs allow to reveal the pattern and volume of semantic development of a word, to trace the scientific history of medicine in synchrony and diachrony. | 5082 | Introduction. The article deals with the German compound nouns with the Katze / Kater component as well as adjectives and verbs with the component, a large number of which confirm the productivity of the German word composition. The purpose of the study was to determine the peculiarities of the semantics of the zoonym Katze in the composition of compound words, to identify the structural composition and thematic groups of compound words with the named component, which also gives an idea of the derivational features of the language. Material and methods. It is necessary to classify the vocabulary composition of the language to facilitate the study of it. The zoonym Katze / Kater is the center of meaning of the thematic groups of compound words studied by us. To confirm the undeniable productivity of word composition in the German language, there were selected 172 compound nouns with the Katze component and seven lexical units with the Kater component as material, this component is a definitive word of the 152 words where together with the 20 words with this component is viewed as a defining word. In addition to this group of words, adjectives with the indicated component (17 words) and 3 verbs are studied. Metaphorical and metonymic transfer are the nominal features of the studied compound words; the main feature of such names is their semantic bi-planarity, i.e. «Game» of figurative and literal meanings of the word. Results and discussion. The article shows how active the Katze / Kater is as a component of German compound words. According to their structure, the lexemes selected for the study can be divided into 7 thematic groups, and into 9 according to their meaning. The theoretical significance is determined by the results of solving the problem. The research contributes to the development of the theory of word formation and semantics. The practical value of the research is determined by the possibility of using the research results in the development of lecture courses and seminars on Lexicology and History of the German language, Translation theory. | 5093 | Introduction. The article is devoted to the identification of ideas about men in women’s dialect discourse. Material and methods. The material of the research is women’s autobiographical stories recorded by the author in dialectological expeditions in 2016–2019; the Tomsk dialect corpus, which includes the materials of expeditions organized by employees of the Tomsk State University from 1946 till the present day on the territory of Middle Ob dialects spread. The research is carried out in cognitive-discursive direction of gender linguistics. Results and discussion. The basis for identifying gender ideas and stereotypes is linguistic opposition of “masculinity- femininity”, in which the personal qualities of men and women and the characteristics of their behavior are contrasted. It is determined that a man less thrifty, more prone to drunkenness than a woman. The contrast between women and men is based on the division of labor responsibilities. An important parameter for verbalization of gender ideas is the status in marriage. It is reflected in the frequency of using of lexical unit husband and in significant number of synonyms for this unit. As a rule, women’s stories s about themselves and their lives are accompanied by characterization of their husband and life in marriage. The most vivid ideas about a man are recorded during description of his personal qualities. Women more often evaluate a man based on his working capacity, economic efficiency, and social achievements. Attitude to a wife and love between a wife and a husband is important in description of husband’s characteristic. Drunkenness and aggressiveness of men are condemned. Such typically feminine qualities as loquacity, squabbling, and scandalous behavior, is negatively assessed for men. Conclusion. The content of ideas about men is influenced by the features of rural existence, which is based on work, patriarchal gender stereotypes, socio-historical events and processes.
